The Trailforks checking montage was hilarious. I just remember using those moments as a chance to breathe haha. I wish it wasn’t so far, I’d go back and give it another shot sooner! Great video!
Great ride guys! Thanks Matt! I have never seriously considered driving down there, but with our current local situation, I think it's now a necessity. I'm impressed. I searched all over to find an open or closed notification, but thanks to your reply to Ricardo Camacho, you answered my question. Safe journeys!
No problem Craig! Yeah, all this rain is really frustrating. Last year at this time I couldn't ride because I had a broken wrist. This year I'm perfectly healthy, but I don't have any open trails to ride!
Thanks for giving me the link. Highlander and sidewinder were certainly two of my favorites. I used to ride here, Dana Peak in Harker Heights, and Walnut in Austin while I was stationed at Hood. Now, I’m at Sill in Lawton, OK and the trails out here do not flow as well. These videos create somewhat of a nostalgia, which is pretty cool. Thanks for all you do.
Cameron Park was an absolute beast to map on Trailforks. Everything is so tight and tangled in one little tight spot that it wouldn't surprise me if the GPS paths were slightly off. Particularly around the Shyst/Hang Ten/Picnic area where it's basically just a maze. In addition, my list of injuries here include a thigh hematoma from Webers Run, chest abrasions from the rocks on Speed Run, vomit on Act of Faith, and many others. I've ridden a lot of places and I've broken more body and bike parts here than I have anywhere else. I love this place.
That's probably why only a small bit of it is mapped on MTB Project! Yeah, that's the area where that little drop is, right? I think that was technically Hang Ten there, but we didn't see Hang Ten on the map. And I can definitely see the potential to break stuff out there!
There are so many trails there and they are all so short that it's hard to connect them up for flow. I was there once last year by myself. Would be nice to check it out with a local who knows the trails
For sure. I bet the locals have some favorite routes where they connect a bunch of trails together. Many of the intersections had 2 or 3 options, which is typically where we were checking Trailforks to see which way to go!
@@huntstyle I brought my bike on a recent trip to Arlington and the rain shut me down. Ended up riding the paved trail at Legacy Park. I'll have to try again!
Awsome video, do you know where I can fin the status of the trail? I live in Fort Worth but everything is close due to rain, I wonder if Cameron is open
facebook.com/CameronParkTrailUpdates They don't have an official open or closed status, but usually they'll update on that page if the trail is too muddy to ride. A lot of sections are probably fine no matter what, but the rocks & roots will get really slippery when wet!
If there's no more rain today & tomorrow, it's probably good to go. Technically they never close it, but they'll update conditions on their Facebook page: facebook.com/CameronParkTrailUpdates
Yep, it's a bit under 2 for me. Overall not bad, especially when our trails are all closed. Since there's more elevation change out there, and it's pretty rocky, it tends to dry faster. They have a Facebook page where they update conditions.
@@huntstyle yes it's not all that new but has been getting better and better has been a couple months since I had been there but it was loads of fun. Jump line, pumptrack style trail a few wooden berm features and last I heard they had more plans to add on. It would be worth your time to check it out plus it connects to several trails right off the Cameron Park trails so you just add a treat onto a normal trail ride.
@@huntstyle also on the way to Waco Dana peak park has some awesome trails though I may be biased because that's my local trail system. Ha, anyway keep riding and putting out videos!
It may be a while. I haven't even ridden since this day! Also busy with some other things, so the channel may have to be put on the back burner for a little while.
It's not all down hill? Well I am not going then 😁. That looks like a sick trail system Matt. Glad you found a dry place to ride 2🤘🤘
I know, pedaling uphill is no fun, but hey at least there's a reward for it! Yeah, it was dry, but we keep getting more rain like every 3 days!!!
A few times it sounded like your spokes were threatening to pop 😬
I would have to agree... Tech+flow=FUN! 🤘🏼😂🤘🏼
Haha! I guess that's what happens when you just plow through everything!
That trail is fun. Glad you hit it before all this rain hit.
Yeah, I'm wondering when we'll be able to ride again! Rain just keeps coming, ugh.

I could have put even more clips on that montage, too!
Amazing! We were there this morning
You’re always adding places to my must-ride list! Thanks for showing that Texas has more to offer Hunt!
We do have some fun stuff! There's still a lot more on my list to hit, too!
Whooo! Lots of fun stuff there! Nice edit.
Thanks man! Definitely one I'll go back to!
Nice! Looked pretty rowdy at times, fun fun!
Yep, the rowdy parts were awesome!
I miss riding there. I used to go there all the time in the early to mid 90s. There used to be no wooden bridges or features Great video.

Yes, something new to watch now that the local trails are soaked again while I decide between riding my road bike or setting up the trainer.
The struggle is real!

Yeah, those trails at Medicine Park are tough! That's awesome to hear that these videos give you some nostalgia! Thank you for your service!
Huntstyle
Thanks for your support! Keep shredd’n, brother!
This looked like a killer day of riding! Digging these trails! Great video man! Keep it up!!
Man we had a blast! And then pigged out on Mexican food, haha! Thanks Travis!

Added to my must-ride list. I was looking for somewhere new to ride. Therefore, I will ride it tomorrow.
Did you go ride there? What did you think?
@@huntstyle Yeah! I went twice and finally found the jumpline.
I love this trail!

Planning on going there for a vacation
Always a fun trail.
Yeah!

Looks fun! Always appreciate your vids. Its only 2 1/2 hrs away from me like going to Austin.
Thanks man! Yeah, not too bad of a drive!
This was awesome until 3:15 when you got to the Bat Cave, then it got even awesomerest! Damned that looks steep!
Haha thanks Matt! Not as steep as Spider Mountain, but still steep!
@@huntstyle You still owe me for that Texas rain! I'll be back in A-town this fall!
@@ShutUpandRideMTB At the rate we're going our trails are never gonna be open!
What kind of bikes do you guys have?
That looked amazing 🏞️
Kyle and I both had a YT Jeffsy here (he now has a different bike) and Chris is on a Trek Fuel.

@@huntstyle ah good to know! We got dumped on again yesterday!
@@PeepMeRide I know, it's getting really old!
How did you not do Vortex? There's also a Cameron Park Ranch nearby where they've built up some nice wooden features.
Vortex was on the list, but we didn't make it. Will have to go back and ride the stuff we missed!
Cameron Park = overgrown and a lot of 90 degree turns?
I went to bike world, im thinking about getting a hardtail, can i still ride these trails without a full suspension?
Sure can!
Cameron Park is great did y'all make it back to the ranch at Cameron Park? They have some great berms and jumps nothing crazy but great riding.
No, we didn't! Is that the new jump line I'm hearing about?

Great park, but you need people with you. I did it by myself and got lost 10 different times. Great trails just no indicators throughout the trail.
Yeah, it's definitely confusing! Trailforks saved us!
If I'm not mistaken the trail system is 26 miles combined.
Might even be more. There's a lot out there!
@@huntstyle thanks for the vidz. Coming up from Corpus to hit the trails. (Tb2020)

No wonder.. I was doing the incline..
I have been there 😎😎 lol did u go to Jacobs ladder
Doesn't sound familiar, so I don't think so.

Did you go down Thor?
No we didn't. From the bottom it didn't look like much. Or at least what we thought was Thor. Is it pretty good further up?
Thor is pretty narly if your going fast ! Try it next you go out there next time man
