That’s right, in case you haven’t been paying attention, the Lone Star State has been undergoing somewhat of a mountain biking renaissance period and right at the heart of it is the state capital, Austin.
Thanks to my RUclips community, Austin found itself on my radar, so during my trip across the country last month I made a point of stopping to check it out, and man am I happy I did!

I would really like to see his bike set up in more detail. I'm a powersport technian, and have set up a few motorcycles for people that were missing limbs. It's pretty awesome to watch someone do something they love that they never thought they would do again because of a massive injury.

The storytelling and documentary-esq style of this video really shows how far you've come in this game. It's almost like a completely different channel now - and I mean that in the best possible way. This is the video that convinced me to start contributing on Patreon. You've really stepped up your production value and the effort you're pouring into this is reflected in your final product. Keep it up. Your channel and your outlook on life inspires so many people.

The mountain bike scene has steadily grown in Tejas since the 90's. Back then only a handful of us traveled to the NORBA Nationals from Texas. I always tried to bring back ideas to the lone star state. Glad some have cemented themselves in Austin. Great video. Ride Hard!

I picked up Mountain Biking as a hobby when I lived in Texas. The MTB community there is strong and always growing. I would travel a lot for work, and anytime I went anywhere I made sure to throw my bike in the back of my truck because there are great trails EVERYWHERE!
Great video btw sts! I like that you incorporated a lot more narration and B-Roll. Much easier to watch in this format.

Dude, Alex, thank you so much. I am moving to DFW soon and Austin is reasonably close. I'm going to Spider Mountain like the week I get there but this video helps so much on finding other stuff in the area. I'm originally from Arkansas, then went to college in Alabama so to me moving to Texas was resigning my MTB experience to park days in Angelfire, NM. I'm so glad that this is not the case. Thank you so much for bringing these communities to light and showing the world what they have to offer. I would love to see a video like this from every scene you see because it helps me find where to ride when going on vacation, business trips, or to see family and friends. Love your work man, live free, ride hard, and stay stoked my dude.

Great video! Thanks for highlighting Texas. I am 53, living in Texas 11 years, and only discovered mountain biking over the summer. After buying a Trek Marlin I was hooked, and found great trails practically in my own back yard in a suburb of Houston, and have been riding 4 to 5 days a week even as the daylight hours diminished this fall. You are so right about the community and passion, but not just in Austin. Houston is the flattest place I've ever lived, but the trail builders in my area are doing a fantastic job, as you say, making the most of what little elevation we do have.

7:55 - thankyou Alex for mentioning the importance of BEGINNER FRIENDLY trails. Not everyone has the sporting ability or desire to tackle black trails with massive jumps and drops. Some of us just aren't that good! And we have kids who like to ride flow trails and some moderate blues without killing ourselves. Think about every sport you've ever played - there have been A grade down to D grade and onwards to cater for different skill and fitness levels. Mountain biking should be no different :-)
And in my experience, it's the players from the lower skill levels that are the heart and soul of many sporting clubs.

I've been living in Austin for a few years now and cutting my teeth on the local trails, and I love the area. For a rookie, there are so many trails to learn on, and as I ride more challenging features I get more and more inspired to build bigger stuff on my home trail. Thanks as always for the dope vids!
