Scenic Flow at Cypresswood Mountain Biking Trails// Houston Texas MTB

- For today's ride I headed over to Cypresswood trails to do some exploring and get in a few miles of XC mountain biking. I was a bit discouraged at first when I ran into a few heavy sand pits early in my ride but things picked up a bit soon after and this turned out to be a fun and scenic mountain bike ride. This trail offered miles of flowing single track and a few wooden features in the forms of boardwalks and a big drop- in leading to a nice jump to flat.
overall, there was nothing overly gnarly about this ride but the scenery and flow mad this one a great place to crank out a few miles . The trails out and back were also directional and formed a tight loop. So even on a quick out and back ride, you won't have to ride the same trail twice.
It is worth mentioning the this trail also has a jump line. I didn't get to ride it on this adventure as I did not do my research and only became aware of the jump section after my ride. However, I'll definitely be going back to check out that section as well.
Overall, I would say that this is a fairly mellow ride with a few nice wooden features to spice it up. I would recommend this for mountain bikers who want to log some scenic miles but aren't ready to commit to some of the gnarlier Mtb features that Houston has to offer.
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like and sub!

Finally made it there last Friday and it was awesome! Thanks, I would have never known where this was without this vid.
You’re welcome. Glad you had a great time and glad to help! 😎🙌
Is it still open? I’m having trouble finding it
Do you start by the parking lot in Collins Park?
@@nate_400cc3I started at Collin’s park, rode the little concrete pathway around the baseball fields and crossed over to the dirt path. It’s easy to get lost, but just as easy to find your way back.
@@nate_400cc3 yes I believe that’s where I started. It’s by the baseball fields. It’s been a while but that’s the closest parking area to sidewinder and black diamond so that’s gta be where I launched from
I love Houston, but this video confirms I was right to not bring my mountain bike when I lived there lol. They did what they could with the elevation they had, but it just isn't enough to create compelling trails. The largest drop in elevation was a wooden feature. Thank you for the video though!
The Brazos River Park trails in Sugar Land has probably 20 or 30 drops that are bigger and more vertical than that wooden drop in Cypress Wood, especially if you go in the back and ride the Hoggs trails. But Cypress Wood does have 4 or 5 other non-wooden drops though of varying sizes that were not shown in this video. It also has 7 or 8 little wooden jump features if that is your sort of thing and lots of fun roll over style dirt mounds that I love. I don't know the official name for those types of features.
Nice flow throughout the whole vid. Like the drone work at the beginning as well.
Hey thanks bro! It’s fun to be filming again after I took most of the summer off
thank you for this. it was helpful.
@@NercNerd84 you’re welcome. It’s no problem at all 😎🤟
Beautiful trail with lots of flowy goodness. Great edit job! I was surprised by the extreme drop-offs that seemed to come out of nowhere!
Hell yea bro! 🤟
What up dude! Good video, thanks for sharing, thinking about checking this out this weekend. If you haven't done cameron park its great. So many trails.
Hey thanks bro! I had a great time riding and filming this one 🤟
I live like 20 mins away from Creekside wood! I just decided to get into MTB :) I'm saving some money for a bike, glad to know there are cools trails in Houston! I was under the impression it was all flat terrain everywhere
There’s some fun trails out there. Not a lot of elevation in general but I found the trail systems to be fun and flowy and the wooden features always make a trail more interesting. Have fun out there. Stay stoked! 😎🤟
Yea houston is kinda flat but alot of trails
Nice man !!! good beginning
Thanks! 😎🤟
When are you going to find your way down to Corpus?
I’ll make it out there soon hopefully. Only downside is there’s no mtb trails but maybe I’ll take the roadie 🤟
@@ChenzosWorld there is 1 main MTB only trail. Oso Creek Trail. ruclips.net/video/Jpl-PfWhoUI/видео.html
You should also check out Mission Hike and Bike in South Texas. It's pretty awesome
Hey man in Conroe for a month checked out this trail the other day and loved it. Looking for more trails in the area could you suggest any to me?
I was only in houston for a few months but my favorite trails during that time was at the Anthills and Brazos river trail system in sugar land. It’s been a while so I would check the Facebook group page for Houston trails to see what condition those trails are in currently
@@ChenzosWorld thank you!
Thanks for the vid
You’re welcome 🙌
That's a very nice trail!
Definitely. It’s a must-ride trail if you’re in the houston area 🤟
It's a loop 😂? Cause I don't want to get lost in woods
I think it was an out-n-back. I used Trailforks 😎🤟
Is this cypress are houston ? Because I’m from Houston and they call consider cypress
Yeah it’s in houston. I was in town for work. Did some exploring based on the trail system names on trail forks 👍
damn I hoping the trails are clear this weekend ! anyone knows?
The bitrate/resolution seems really low when you hit the trails. Anything you can adjust?
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll do some research on it 👍
GoPros just don't perform well in low light or mottled conditions with low and high lights combined like sunlight through trees.
great edit very swag!!!
Thanks bro. Much appreciated 😎🤙
What's your favorite place near SA? I'm trying to ride the pump track and the trails I'm doing here.
I do most of my San Antonio riding at Leon Creek Greenway and I like to session at The Fearures at Parkwood. Here’s a list of my top 5

Did I miss the bow?
I think we both missed the bow
@ChenzosWorld you should go back and check out the new drops. I went last Friday. I was riding solo, so I didn't risk it. Lol
@ChenzosWorld and there is a secret spot too that my cousin was telling me about he just found out after riding the trail for 2 years.
@@melgozakoki85 nice. I’m hoping to revisit cypresswood and some of the other houston spots that I didn’t get to fully explore last time. So many trails. So little time. I’ll make it back out there one day though! 😎🤟
U live here in Houston?
