If you’re interested in seeing the previous owner’s renovation of the chateau, head on over to Adrian and Carole’s channel at @LifeAfterLaFerté. We’ll finally be getting to the REAL chateau content in our next video, so thank you for sticking with us and getting to know a little more about where we come from. Your comments and support mean so much to us! Xo Reni & Gustavo
@@OhNoAnotherChateau Adrian and Carol are very near and dear to my heart and have watched all their vlogs and that is one of the first Chateau reno channels, I watched and what got me hooked!
Love your way of editing, of making your move interesting. Different and unique instead of copying other renovation channels (in some of them just holding the camera to endless cleaning, painting, nailing, drilling etc). Love those bits about architecture, history and aesthetic stuff in general. Well done!
I love your perspective of basing your renovations upon the history of the living space. I can't wait to see what you discover about the Chateau! I am also interested to see how you take on the major projects, like the staircase foundation which Adrian was wise enough not to try and tackle himself. I am also very interested in what you do with/find out about the various outbuildings. Can't wait for the next episode!
I'd have to rewatch Adrian's video but I wonder if the stairs themselves aren't supported by the walls rather than sitting on the floor. French stairs can be surprisingly self-supported and I vaguely seem to remember that the floor had sunk in relation to the stairs rather than both.
Yay!!!! I just stumbled across this video and channel. I was/am a subscriber to Adrian and Carole's Chateau de la Ferte channel and enjoyed watching them work on the chateau's restoration. I was very sad when they sold the building without having restored it. And, here we are with the universe providing! I am so happy that you have decided to also share your work on the chateau!
Wow guys!! How could you bear to leave that beautiful apartment?? I would absolutely love to see the before and after of what you did! With you being an architect Gustavo and Reni being a creative I bet it's something to behold and I'm so looking forward to seeing how you carry on Carole's 'more' and Adrian's practical approach. All the best to you both. Suzanne in Oxfordshire
I think I'm going to love this channel. I'm really enjoying your intelligence, love of the arts and chemistry. You have a unique approach, which is exciting. I am a friend of Adrian from school days. One of his videos shows my family helping clear out the well, measuring its depth with a bamboo stick.
Wow I've watched that video, among many others of theirs (gotta do our due diligence/research)...so cool that you are a part of La Ferté's history too. Thank you.
This was lovely. I enjoy seeing all the different places and the beautiful sky. You’re both very busy. Enjoying the architecture, the history, the artist info. Very nice mix. Thank you for sharing.❤
finally, a chateau channel with an architect at the helm! as a fellow architect i look forward to what you will be doing with the chateau. a lot of chateau channels just make me cringe
An entertaining and interesting episode. I’m very interested in following your adventures at La Ferte , and enjoyed seeing some of your background lead-up to your move. Moving is always so chaotic, and it looks like this one had some extra moving parts and angst attached to it! However, now you are here and we are, too. Let’s make this chateau beautiful! ❤️🥂🇨🇦
Such an enjoyable video, so cool and totally different to other chateau renovation vlogs. I loved seeing where you came from as well as your journey to collect Dora. Have subscribed and excited to follow your progress ❤
Wow! What a wonderful life you have moving to Chateau de La Ferte. I love road trips you can’t get me out of a car whether I’m a passenger or driving. Love it
As a chateau renovation addict I am very happy that there is another chateau channel to follow - it's "Oh, yay", not "Oh, No"!! Really enjoyed your first two videos and looking forward to following your journey as you take over where the previous owners left off.
Can't wait. Was so disappointed when Carol and Adrian sold the chateau. Loved watching them doing the renovations. I would like to follow your journey but prefer vlogs where you speak directly to camera all the time and show you actually working on the restoration projects. None of my business of course. Just my personal preference. I have subscribed to numerous chateau vlog channels but find I only regularly watch the ones that do vlogs that way. eg. The Pethericks, Doing It for Ourselves, Bordeaux Life, Journey to the Chateau, Chateau diaries, and of course the lovely Dan reconstructing a burnt out shell from the ground up. Some that just mainly do voice overs I find too impersonal. I am looking forward to see you working on the chateau and hope that you consider carefully how you create your vlogs. I know they involve a lot of work and you have other work to think about as well. Take care on your wonderful new journey x
That's definitely a matter of personal preference. They clearly have a very different style of filming from your regular chateau channels and I love theirs the most personally, because it feels super authentic and different. Would be a shame if they lost their 'edge'.
Love your video, really great. I’ve watched everything Carole and Adrian posted over the years, and look forward to watching your journey. Congratulations and good luck with the adventure
Que bien que lleguen a continuar la restauración que dejaron inconclusa sus anteriores propietarios desde hoy me subscribo en su canal y continuar viendo como vuelve a la vida este hermoso palacio
I am so glad that "the story continues" for Chateau de la Ferte! Carole and Adrian did so much there to restore it, that grand salon floor was an epic project and Carole's attention to detail was admirable. Good luck for this next chapter!
I congratulate you on a quality video! Very interesting to see your past & where you’re going! Love the new old vehicle & challenge of the Arch de Triomphe roundabout, it’s scary! Wishing you both great happiness with life in the Chateau! John in Monmouth 🏴
I remember standing on top of the Arc d'Triomphe watching traffic swirl below, wondering however one gathered nerve to venture into the frey. You were so brave!! Good luck with your adventure!

Good luck on this adventure, I’m retiring from the RCN next year and planned on doing the same thing since my father was stationed in France when we were kids. Regrettably my wife has now decided Fort Lauderdale in Florida is where she wants to spend half the year. Fortunately I love her so that’s the plan🇨🇦
I'm a bit older and all my albums but one went to charity. Can't wait to see what you do with the chateau, I'm guessing a modern vibe interiors. So you're going from a warm home to a chilly large chateau. Get out the long johns and down coats and polar fleece. Even ski pants

I watched Adrian and Carole from the first at LaFerte, It will be so interesting to watch you turn LaFerte into your own dream home. We brought our first 4WD in 2004 a Ford Explorer. Brand new! It was a fabulous car, however when we moved to Tasmania and petrol went to $2 per litre it became unaffordable to have a V8 car while living 50km out of town!! Was just thinking 'omg anything they think they have by buying and old car is going to go down the toilet in disastrous levels of petrol consumption" and then you made the comment on the cost of filling half a tank 😂😂😂 Next time you need an old practical car get a Toyota Verso.... Small but like a Tardis with 7 seats. I used my old one for delivering furniture and sort furnishings for a design practice and ferrying around dozens of small children. It could contain more goods than a huge Porche Cayenne (I once transferred a load of stuff to a wealthy clients Cayenne and he had to leave some things with me.....)
