      I agree, I don’t plan on beating any knife with a 5 lb shop hammer …but in case I change my mind I bought 3 of these from TEMU,one for less than $5.(and Yes I hate supporting China , but under our current administration I can’t afford to buy the real ones)

      @@deplorablebilly1066 aren’t these under $100 for a real one?? Instead of buying 3 fakes I’d just saved a lil more and got the real deal. Another reason these don’t belong is explained in the video of not letting these make it into the hands of someone who doesn’t know better.

    I got a fake and I like the reverse button position! So who cares if the snaps are black or silver? The black can probably scratch off!! You can heat up the plastic on the tab on the sheath and press it down for a few seconds. Much better retention. Problem solved! Why did you say it was pure garbage? I didn't hear you point out any bad points actually!Mine is VERY sharp. SO WHAT if the sheath is longer. Does it need to be?? No!

The LMFii's are over $200 with tax in Canada and the Strong arms are over $150...the Chinese knock off was $20CAD with free shipping from Mainland China...What the hell did you expect pounding on the flat part of the blade with a sledgehammer?! Dare you to make a follow-up with buddy's real one with the same 'torture test'... guarantee you'd get the same results out of hardened steel...of course it snapped...sheesh

    Well, to be fair, the maker labeled the knife as being made in China, so a serious knife buyer would have known it was a fake. I have a genuine strongarm and its pretty darn sturdy, but if smacked with a metal hammer, it could very well get damaged (though perhaps not completely snap so quickly). The question is could any knife priced $14-15 hold up any better to your test regardless of where its made? I suspect like all people who buy named products at a super cheap price, be it handbags or knives, its because they're ignorant...or can't afford the real deal but want the status of seemingly owning something nice. Can't generate too much outrage over a normal human failing....but like anything else, its always "buyer beware..."

    • @bigjsknives
      @bigjsknives  Год назад

      Not labeled Made in China. Has USA right in the blade. This knife was made go dupe people into thinking it’s a real Strongarm. I didn’t care how well it held up entire video was to show it’s a fake and trash it. Thanks for checking it out.

    • @johnwen8810
      @johnwen8810 Год назад

      Oh...I misheard..thought you said it was labeled "made in China" on the box. But if it was stamped in the USA, then clearly that is a blatant misrepresentation and illegal. Not that that ever stopped the fakers. Unfortunately, it also doesn't stop unscrupulous people from buying up the fakes and peddling them at flea markets for $40 or so. The resemblance is close enough and the knife is superficially tough enough, that it will likely fool many casual buyers. These fakes have even found their way into legit platforms like Amazon (though Amazon will allow buyers to return it within 30 days). The only way to seriously reduce the flow of fake strongarms in the country is to get the govt to go after outfits like TEMU and get them to accurately label their products or face civil penalties. And of course, doing what you're doing which is warning the public...

    So you order a $14 knife and knock it and expect it to be the same. The bit of difference don't mean much and I'd say 98 out of a hundred users real knives still sit in a drawer. Not many people now days have to ever really rely on the knives they have. Unless opening Amazon packages happens to keep you alive. But of course that's just my opinion

    Thanks for providing how to ID a fake strong arm. I do see some irony in the title of your video. Your knife was not a Gerber strongarm and you are using a fake title to promote your video. I can't help to think at some level your video has promoted these fakes. They are a breach of law, Gerber owns their reputation and trademarks etc. It doesn't matter if they perform better or worse even if they are cheaper. These should not be bought by law abiding people even if we can. Let the manufacturers of these knives create their own design and compete in the market using their own name and not profit from deceiving ignorant consumers.

    Cercando in internet i modelli fake del Gerber "Strongarm" sono in Acciaio 3CR13MOV tendenzialmente. Io ne ho due Cinesi ma senza marchio. Prenderò anche l'originale perché adoro questo modello di Coltello. Prenderlo a martellate non ha senso.
