Hey Ralph, this video popped up in the playlist and I’m glad it did. I’m looking for just this kind of practice for winter in the house with a net. I went through your short course using the red tees, and it was good fun and practice. Have a couple questions for you though. As the course designer, do you get the set the range for auto put? meaning, where a two putt line is? I ask, because I think it might be a little generous on some holes. My 2nd question is I have an eye mini launch monitor I can use so I was wondering if Club selection matters in the results? By that I mean, does GS pro just use the ball flight metrics to determine the outcome or does the actual club selection also play into The resulting ball flight? Thanks for the videos, with the explosion of Sim Golf there’s a lot of new folks to GS pro and these are going to come in handy.
Thanks for the compliments and for the enthusiasm. It is so appreciated. Now, to your questions: 1. No, course designers have no say in the distances used in AutoPutt. That is built into the game mechanics and is the same for every course. 2. Club selection for game play does not matter with one exception. Chipping / Putting. If you are on the green and try to chip it wont work. Likewise if you are just off the green and try to putt it wont work either. To be able to putt off the green, just click "U" on the keyboard or use the mouse and change the club to putter. I am glad you are finding these videos handy. Hope to be able to bring more and more content your way. Thanks for being a fan and subscriber.
I tried to press 8 on the keyboard to continue on course practice from the spot where my ball landed. Did not work. Does this option only apply to the unstable beta version?
Yes, sorry. I should have mentioned that it will be released on the next official release. It is available though if you choose to use the Public Beta available to everyone in the Settings Menu. Thanks for watching as always.
Great stuff - I learned a lot! In the 'last shot' box from the rough - are those penalties factored into the numbers for speed and spin in the top right data tiles? E.g., they show the adjusted numbers? Or do the tiles show the unadjusted numbers coming from the LM?
You can practice on any green in the game. Just go to Practice Mode, select on course practice and then place the ball on any green on any hole. Hope that helps.
Is there a way to lock the club selection so you don't have to change it every time? I am practicing in mouse mode while waiting for Sim Build to complete so my distances are based on the club selection ( I think)
@@rcperkjr yes. In mouse mode I find that the club GSPRO defaults to overshoots by a lot so I have to club down and it would be helpful to select the club once and have it stay until I want to change it again.
Have you tried doing the "Bag Mapping" setup that would lock in a club to use for a distance? Otherwise, no, there is no way to maintain the club selection@@todburres6460
Yes - I would think in mouse mode that when a club mapped to 170 is selected for a target shot of 170 the average distance would be close to 170 but I am finding 190 -220 is more likely ;-) Thanks for the response . This video was helpful for giving some fun and interesting ways to practice! @@rcperkjr
"Possible Future video"…hey Ralph I’m not sure about club selection as far as selecting clubs for every shot, should we…shouldn’t we why should/shouldn’t. Maybe its just me but i have not heard a definitive "yes or no" as for as selecting or not selecting.
Thanks! New to GS Pro knowing the 8 key is clutch! Before I didn’t understand why I could only hit tee shots or drag the ball icon.
Very helpful for newbies.. Loving it. So Happy to finally get rid of flaky E6!
So happy for you too! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ralph… very informative, great video💪🏻👍🏻
Great videos! Thank you!!
thank you!!!
Very helpful Ralph not heard of 036 practise game method will defo try it as my approach play is decidedly average !
Thanks for watching

Looking at your rough vs. deep rough shots with the 8 iron - looks like the data tiles show the unadjusted versions before the penalty.
I know the distance is adjusted. I will do a quick test and follow up here for you (and so I know too) 😎
The spin numbers are the numbers from the Launch Monitor
I am very new to GSPro, love it so far, just one question and forgive the noob here, is there a practice putting green? TY
You can practice on any green in the game. Just go to Practice Mode, select on course practice and then place the ball on any green on any hole. Hope that helps.
@@rcperkjr TY so much.

Lock in club selection? You mean to use the same club for every shot?

If you have a Uneekor, then you only need to change clubs when you are putting off the green. Change it to putter. Otherwise it doesnt matter
