Have a local repair shop do it, these are actually fairly standard procedures for phone repair so those people are typically trained on how to do that kind of stuff safely. I have to use heat guns on phones all the time
I love the atomic purple see-through look. I had an atomic gbc back in the day. I haven't gotten a lite yet, I'm not crazy on the matt color options. I'm not down for doing these steps myself, but if Nintendo released an Atomic purple switch lite in stores, then I'd have a hard time not adding one to cart.

This process in the video isn't difficult, you just need to go slow and follow the instruction video from extremerate while you go. I just bought the watermelon red/pink transparent version shell and i'm about to do it myself. Its scary if you haven't done it before, but it really is easy as long as you follow the directions and take your time. I've reshelled 3 pair of joycons and one switch oled, so im getting pretty comfortable with the process now.
I just ordered a new shell and all new buttons for my switch lite. My husband said he would take care of it for me, but maybe I can watch your tutorial a few times and surprise him by learning a thing or two to help him 😊

Upon further reflection, couldn't you use the OG grey shell backing, with the smoke clear top? Since the back doesn't have much to see anyway, couldn't you just use the Nintendo back piece, as then it would accent the bezel and clear grey shell on the front? Then having the official backing piece would make it look even more official.
I think the biggest factor for re-shelling is having the grey Switch Light since the darker bezel would work better with the other colors. Also ngl not digging the 9er's shirt lol

Did this to my own Turquoise switch, but with the smoked shell/housing, i didnt use the screen protector, and i think it looks really unique, even kept some of the turquoise port covers aswell, i wouldnt recommend someone do this unless you take things apart all the time and are really 'tech savy' i can see alot of novices or younger people damaging their switch lites as a result of trying this, especially in regards to the screen and ribbon cables.

I would probably only do a shell swap in the event of my screen breaking to be honest. Like if you cracked your screen you could just buy the LCD and digitizer in the color you want then fit that to the new shell and swap your other parts over. Would make more sense for me than potentially damaging the screen while removing it from the old shell.
There's some very good ray tracing going on on that new table, my congratulations to the manufacturers for such a realistic work, it's almost as good as Nvidia's tech demos.
Although I've repaired a lot of gaming systems from various generations, handhelds and Switch consoles included, this is a high risk, no real benefit endeavour! It is an average build quality system after all. Totally love it though!!

The Atomic Purple you fucked up! You didn't install it right. The Glass with the black border isn't a screenprotector it's the screen! You have to transfer the whole display assembly.

I broke 2 ribbon cable inserts doing this. Replacement board for the mini joycon is $71 on Ebay. Not worth In my opinion. Fortunately I play using an external controller any ways.

Ifixit has a great tool kit. I use theirs when I did my reshell. I also used their anti static organizer to keep my screws together. Not sponsored but their stuff works and it’s also magnetic so the screws don’t get lost (because they are tiny!)

Those replacement joycon joysticks that you can order from aliexpress is slightly smaller than the joysticks that come along with the joycons. It doesn't inspire any confidence after comparing the replacement with the original ones.

So what did to my switch lite gray is that i bought the ifixit tool and the dark clear case from the same company. i am a little bit uncomfortable with removing the entire switch just for the case and knowing the current situation. I decided to only replace the back case of the switch. So before putting my dark clear case on i added a decal sticker on the Metal shield it look super cool im glad that i went with it. As for the front i ended up using a really cool dark decal from Dbrand with their big option for tempered glass it match really well with the gray bezel. The one downside i have for these clear cases that the SD and Game card slots aren't that great with their quality being really cheap and so i wanted to keep all the original parts from my switch for these slots however the original game card plastic piece does not match the clear case, the case is slightly bigger for the plastic piece to go in. I have heard that not all clear case are the same side so i was lucky that i can screw the back clear case on to my original front case
Don't like the glossy transparent plastic. If someone made atomic purple or glacier blue in the frosted/matte exterior like Nintendo used to, I'd do it in an instant.

These shells are too transparent. They don't get the old transparent plastic look quite right, and the back of the Switch doesn't work well with transparency. It's a giant metal plate. I went with the solid white case for that reason. I think the transparent teal one looked good from certain angles.

Doesn't look good. The dark bezel around the screen is ugly. Standard Switch Lite has this bezel "hidden" and makes the whole thing look much better.

The one downside i have for these clear cases that the SD and Game card slots aren't that great with their quality being really cheap and so i wanted to keep all the original parts from my switch for these slots however the original game card plastic piece does not match the clear case, the case is slightly bigger for the plastic piece to go in. I have heard that not all clear case are the same side so i was lucky that i can screw the back clear case on to my original front case
Don't like the glossy transparent plastic. If someone made atomic purple or glacier blue in the frosted/matte exterior like Nintendo used to, I'd do it in an instant.
And Nintendo misses another opportunity to do something cool for Switch owners. They fuckin hate y'all, lol
Not keen with the grey bezel so I don't agree it is a better solution. The black screen protector looks just great! Appreciate I don't have it in hand though 😅
I finished doin this yesterday all the buttons works. The only thing that got fucked up is my screen it has cracks what can I do? Where can I get a replacement couldnt find any solid ones.
These shells are too transparent. They don't get the old transparent plastic look quite right, and the back of the Switch doesn't work well with transparency. It's a giant metal plate. I went with the solid white case for that reason. I think the transparent teal one looked good from certain angles.
I wonder how the grey bezel looks okay instead of using the black bezel screen protector on Atomic Purple.
Anyone else experiencing weird audio? Sometimes it’ll be muzzled for a second then go back to normal.
