    How does new JBL 305P MKII compares to Adam Audio T5V? Let's find out!
    Build quality is on similar level in both, but I will give a slight edge to JBL for higher quality controls on the back (volume rocker and tone control switches) and LED status light on the front (instead of back in T5V). They also have similar audible level of self noise or hiss if You will that may be an issue for users with quiet rooms and nearfield placement of the monitors.
    Soundwise JBL is easier on the ear thanks to more natural tonal balance. T5V has boosted uppper midrange and treble which makes it a bit sterile and bright sounding, but on the other hand T5V also feels more open and speacious. They both have solid bass response but 305P punch a bit harder while T5V feels a bit tighter.
    Overall I find both JBL 305P MKII and Adam Audio T5V to be solid monitors with good sound quality. If I was to choose one of them for music listening than it would be JBL, but for music production I would probably go with T5V and trim that high end a bit. What do You think? Which one would You choose and why? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!
    PS. Unfortunately, I switched the "source track" from stereo to mono this time around and it got butchered by editing software (speakers tracks are good though). I missed that before uploading, so please keep that in mind while listening to this comparison. I will post part two to this video with different tracks and source track in stereo soon to give You better idea about how they both compare. Cheers!

      @@JoaoMartins-or6pq Not really. To produce you'll want a flat and accurate representation of the sound. To listen you'll most likely want something that packs more punch with a boosted low end and slightly less highs, so you dont get ear fatigue.

    I recently bought both the JBL 306p and 308p to see which set worked best in my newly treated music room. Both sets sound fantastic but I decided to use the 306p as the larger 308p are just overkill in my opinion. I'm so impressed with the sound from the 6.5" version as they can almost produce the same low frequencies as the 308p...very close, and the output is very capable of good volume while remaining crisp, clear and level across the frequency range. The 8" has its use, but not for my needs.
    With my room treated with rock wool wall panels and rock wool corner (super chunk style) bass traps, you can hear just how great these speakers really are...they are more flat than one might think if hearing them in an untreated listening environment. They sound really full bodied and very even across the frequencies, not too sizzling in the highs, not scooped in the mids, and they have tight defined bass that is not muddy. If somebody ever told me that the MKII had muddy bass, I'd tell them it's their listening room at fault...not the monitors. One last thing, if the JBLs cost as much as the Adam equivalents, I'd pay the price...thankfully I didn't have too :)
    These may not be the nicest looking speakers available, but it's the sound quality that makes these MKII 3 series winners (in general) in my opinion ;)

    They both sounded good through my T5Vs. The clarity on the top end was better with the Adams, but the JBLs seemed to have a warmer sound. With average speakers/monitors I'm usually straining to understand the lyrics, so the clarity at the top end makes a big difference. Live cymbal strikes match what I hear through the Adams, they were muted through the JBLs. Those ribbon tweeters make a noticeable difference. Thanks for the comparison (difficult to pull off via RUclips, but you were able to do it).

    The T5Vs win it for me after listening to this video and many other videos of monitor comparisons. I have compared the T5Vs to the Yamaha HS8s, KRKs, Neumanns, Audio Pros, Focals, Tannoys, Edifiers, EVE Audios, etc. Nothing is as tight and precise on the stereo image with the perfect balance of bass, mids, and treble. The T5Vs sound great on most songs. I will buy these and add these with my PreSonus R80s. The Ribbon Tweeters win every time. There is a big difference in Ribbon Tweeters and Cone Tweeters. Listening to these on my Adam A7 originals and the difference is barely negligible. The T5V sounds perhaps a tab bit brighter while the JBL sounds a tab bit warmer. Also keep in mind that a pair of T5V's will run you about $200 more for the pair than the JBL which is not worth it considering they almost sound identical.

Both have their subtle advantages, but unless you are really looking to find some difference, it is hard to tell one. At their price range, I don't think there are any better monitors out there. With the price reduction that JBL made before the Black Friday (was selling for $140 in Canada), it hits all competition out of the park. Definitely go with JBL, you won't be sorry.

    JBL 305p sounds fuller than Adam T5V. Adams have deeper bass, more clarity and sparkle on the highs to the point you can call it analytical. But JBL seems more natural and fuller. The Adam's have a brighter, crisper tweeter, and sound like they hit the bass notes a bit harder, but I wonder if it would be fatiguing over time with the sparkly highs. Hi Digital Stereophony! Have been watching your videos and really enjoy them, thanks for doing them. Have listened to the HS5’s, LSR’s, 305P’’s, ES5’s, TV5’s and many others and again thank You for making all these videos, they are great. Correct me if I’m wrong. Is the better monitor one that closely resembles the original track or do we want to hear a clearer sound from the whole audio range like bass, mid, treble etc.? To my ear the Adam Audio, Yamaha, JBL, Kali, Mackie etc. all sound great but they deviate from the original track in that they sound better, more clear usually, more defined, more like hifi speakers, good for listening but maybe not so good for mixing. Again my untrained ear tells me that the Presonus E5’s sound more like the original track In most instances comparatively to me but again this is my first pair of monitors for a small home studio approximately a 14 foot deep x 16 foot wide room with 8 foot ceiling, untreated. iMac 21.5 on a desk 3 foot 9 inches wide x 2 feet deep about 5 inches off the wall. I’m thinking something with a bass port on the front in the 5 inch size so I don’t over power the room but if you think I could go smaller then I would appreciate the input. I will say from your videos I didn’t really like the way anything sounded below 5 inches. I’m just mixing acoustic guitar and vocals for a project. Any advice or help you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks so much for everything. Peace

      I mix on Adams something like 1 year, I can recommend them as a entry level studio monitors, after this time I can say that they lack lows (nothing new these are only 5') yet they sound very good, like the stereo field and clarity, it's nice to work on them if you know what you need to achieve, for this price they gives great value, yet after some time you start to see benefits of more expensive monitors, especially bigger ones.

    Witam, byłem jakiś czas nastawiony na zakup Edifierów R1700bt, ale gdzieś mi mignął zestaw Klipscha 2.1 promedia.. Ciężko dostępne w Polsce, ciekaw jestem czy jest sens zawracać sobie głowę, sprowadzaniem tego, czy kupić edki i później jakiś mały subwoofer np. REL aby uzupełnić to najniższe pasmo.. Myślisz że w tej cenie do 500PLN można kupić cokolwiek co zagra lepiej? Co innego mógłbyś polecić do np. 1500zł? Ale o podobnej/takiej samej charakterystyce? Jeśli jest totalna przepaść dostępna za powiedzmy 1500zł to wolę poczekać niż od razu brać edki. Trochę się rozpisałem i jest to pewnie dość zawiłe, ale mam nadzieję, że zrozumiesz :) Przy okazji, kawał dobrej roboty. Takiego kanału właśnie brakowało ! Oglądam od dawna i dopiero nie dawno zorientowałem się, że rodak za tym stoi :)

    • @DSAUDIOreview
      @DSAUDIOreview  6 лет назад

      Za 1500zł kupował bym S1000DB, szczególnie do muzyki. Druga opcja jest taka, że bieresz R1850DB i dodajesz do tego Jamo SUB210, to będzie lepsza opcja do fimów. Pozdrawiam ;)

    • @Barencjusz1

      @@DSAUDIOreview Czyli ogólnie jesteś bardzo zadowolony z produktów Edifiera, skoro przerabiając tyle sprzętu, nie polecasz nic innego :) Wydaję mi się, że wypadają dobrze ( cena / jakość ) Już zdecydowałem że wezmę te R1700/1850 i dołożę suba, generalnie pomieszczenie jest małe, nie potrzebuję też niczego mocnego, byle schodziło do tych niższych rejestrów, nieosiągalnych w systemie 2.0 tym bardziej - tak kompaktowym :) REL - Quake polecają najbardziej do muzyki, generalnie użytek tego sprzętu to 95% muzyka :) Ten jamo do muzyki też się nada czy będzie zbyt ociężały? Bo cenowo wypada lepiej, jamo ~600 a na REL'a około 1000 trzeba by przeznaczyć i oczywiście mowa o używanym :)

    • @DSAUDIOreview
      @DSAUDIOreview  6 лет назад

      Faktycznie, lubie polecać Edifiery bo to bardzo solidny sprzęt i jeszcze nie zdarzylo mi się zeby ktoś na narzekał, szczegolnie przy tych cenach i wyposażeniu jakie oferują. R1850DB+SUB210 to bedzie napewno fajne połączenie. Aktualnie testuję tego suba Jamo i jak za te pieniadze daje rade do muzyki. Mam porównanie z subami z wyższej półki (mam pare svs sb12nsd u siebie w salonie) i za te pieniądze jestem pozytywnie zaskoczony. Oczywiście używany REL ma szansę zagrać szybciej, ale różnica nie urwie czterech liter ;)

      @Barencjusz1 6 лет назад

      @@DSAUDIOreview Mam zewnętrzną kartę dźwiękową, więc do R1700 też podepnę suba :) A grają niemal identycznie, więc przycebuluję kilka złotówek i kupię tego suba Jamo :) Skoro mówisz, że daje radę to nie widzę sensu dopłacać do REL'a. Dzięki Ci wielkie raz jeszcze Panie, zarówno za odpowiedzi jak i te materiały, którąś godzinę na tym kanale już przesiedziałem !
      Edit: Oczywiście przypomniało mi się jeszcze jedno - czy testowałeś różnicę jakości dźwięku na przewodzie optycznym a zwykłym rca? Bo jeśli jest zauważalna to może jednak te 1850 bym wziął hehe.. Rozkminę mam niesamowitą :)
