This is and excellent review. No background music distracting us. Yay! Thank you. I just purchased a pair of these t5v's and they are awesome! I almost want to listen to music through them, all day. i would, if I could. I've listened to cds, vinyl records (old and new) and a tape deck. Everything sounds incredible. best money I've ever spent on audio equipment besides the time I found a brand new, unopened box, 5 cd changer on Mercari for $15.00.
I have these on my PC desk setup. RUclips, gaming and listen / searching for new music. The T5V's are super... i don't produce music... i just wanted good speakers to listen to on a desk situation. These do it all. Just a small update... and this is maybe not to be said. But.... use aftermarket Hifi power cords!! and tough them in over aggressively. You get a clear improvement in soundstage and dynamics are better and more controlled. *** do know this is working for me ***
Power cords make no difference unless its damaged or the copper is oxidized... no matter how fancy the cable, it doesn't change whats already in your wall, the same goes for overrated silver speaker cables that cost crazy prices for a few ft... Everything was recorded on your run of the mill copper cables... then you also have the standard lead baring solder used to join all the components inside whatever gear you use... its a placebo, but its fine.
Good review, You are getting better and better. There's one thing I wanna correct. It doesn't exist such thing like faster or tighter bass which you mentioned at the HEDD. There are other reasons which causes your interpretation of your believing in those terms. The room and how those speakers interact with your room such like ringing etc.. As an German acoustician both company's are pretty well known for me. Another German brand which make excellent studio monitors is Neumann. They are bought from sennheiser years ago and they're name in the past was Klein und Hummel. Keep on your good work 🍻👍 Greetings from Germany
@Ruben - Room acoustics definitely have an impact on bass frequencies but his point still holds true regarding tight or fast bass as speakers vary in their ability to deliver bass information efficiently regardless of the room. Factors such as driver material, amp quality, crossover design, cabinet construction and internal damping all play a key role in the low end performance and a poor speaker can't be redeemed by an acoustically perfect room.
Maybe he was talking about the details in the bass, like in the t5v, the basses are not that defined, on the adam ax series, the basses sounds more detailed and punchy, maybe the fast transient response.
Excellent review! Of both the T5Vs and HEDD Type 07s. Also a huge fan of AMT tweeters- tried Adam A7X, Adam ARTist 5, T7V, and have heard HEDDs and Elacs in passing. Currently own a pair of EVE SC208s.
@@ΧρηστοςΒογιατζης-χ7λ The T7V aren't quite as good as the Adam A7X as far as build quality and are more prone to noise. As far as sound, they're not as good with the low end transient response. if you don't mind those flaws and are relying on a sub for low end, I'd go with the T7Vs. The EVEs are just more neutral sounding and have less emphasized highs. So if you find the Adams fatiguing as some folks (not me) do, the Eves are more agreeable. The build quality is superior, the front dial is great, and the low end is faster and has more weight.
@@mohamedahmed1023 why you didn't go for sc207 ? I have yamaha hs8 and I regret for the 8inch woofer. I think I loose a lot of midrange clarity. I think it is better a 5' or 7' inch with a sub. What is your opinion? I was thinking about mackie Mr624, Adam T7v and focal alpha 65. Also the G4 generation of rokits rooks interesting.
@@ΧρηστοςΒογιατζης-χ7λ I did not have subs at the time. I also like that with the SC208, if I don't have a sub for a brief period of time, I can make do with the bass it provides. The reason I got the SC208s was because a boutique seller had them for a crazy price. I paid less than what a pair of SC207s would cost used. I've heard others say the same as what you're saying. It may be true but the deal I got was impossible to ignore.
You should really review the Adam A5X/A7X as well. This range is much more comparable with HEDD (Type 5 and type 7). In my opinion it looks a lot better than the HEDD type 05, is a lot less deep than the T5v (which is really deep at one feet/30cm for a desk, especially with the ports on the back). Furthermore it has reachable power and volume controls at the front. I auditioned all three speakers (HEDD 05, Adam A5X and Adam T5V) and apart from the big difference in look and feel, the Adams also sound more coherent than the HEDD. You can expand them with a Sub (Sub7 or Sub8) if you want more lows. There is even an Adam A3X, if you want an even smaller footprint (but apparently this one is a little bit bass boosted and has no low controls, so more difficult to blend with a Sub). The HEDD focusses a lot more on bass and are somewhat recessed in the mids compared to the Adams. HEDD extended the frequency range downwards of both the tweeter and the woofer, which clearly comes at a price. It is less coherent, as if the tweeter and woofer sound apart from eachother. The HEDD is in my view therefore much more suitable for bass heavy music and EDM only, whereas the Adam is much more an allrounder. As for the T5V, it is just not comparable with the more expensive range of Adam and HEDD. Instruments sound really off on the T5V and the lack detail, but the difference in imaging and depth is maybe even more noticable. Don't get me wrong, the T5V is a really nice coherent sounding speaker for home use, especially midfield. I think, if you have a small apartment it will be great. But if you want mind blowing nearfield detail, depth and imaging and a very smooth/coherent sound in de upper bass, mids and highs, the Adam A5X is really the way to go. As a bonus you get (in my opinion) much better looks, a smaller footprint, frontported design (less bass problems) and controls at the front. For that bass heavy songs or game/sound effect you can always buy the Sub later on.
Interesting that you feel that people might want to turn up the HF given that the frequency response graph clearly shows a bump in that range already. Audio Science Review actually recommends adding EQ to turn those frequencies down in order to get a flatter response.
I've heard nothing but good things about these Adams so this review pretty much confirms this info. I've used Kef Q150's but that involved a lot of other gear; ALAC files to DAC - DAC to a tube integrated etc. You've got me thinking that I might be better off with these Adams but with possibly a Schiit "tube" preamp like the Freya+ or a lesser Schiit preamp but with the tube option? Just me thinking.

CSS provides 3D printed boards, I believe. I got the GR-Research kit for my B&W CDM-1NT speakers, and put in about 60 hours to get it all to work out. While the improvement in sound was astounding (I own two pair of these speakers, so was able to A-B them), it was just too many hours of my time to justify upgrading the other pair, so I gave them to my son. I'm your age, and felt that if I had to do it again, it might take 40 hours, which is still too much. While I design and build machinery for a living, making, stacking, and retrofitting those circuit boards from scratch was out of my comfort zone. This exercise had led me to mistrust the consumer audio industry. I switched over to only buying pro audio monitors moving forward.

@@WWeiss-nv5vzT5V clearly has better mid range. Just pair T5Vs with a T10S subwoofer if you want the best / most versatile experience. If going without a sub, you could reach for the T7Vs (the 7” sweet spot). As for the T8Vs, if we’re being honest, 8” drivers especially in a smaller room, will really be a disappoitment.
Great review. Friend needs a complete setup here in Adam Audio Town (Berlin). Do you think we should try a setup of the T8V with T Subwoofer for his about 5*6Meter Room? (15*18feet). Does it make sense to buy a single Adam T5V monitor to put on my fridge in the kitchen for everyday listening to music? Would the T5V be too directional for that purpose? I'll probably be off axis from that monitor a lot of the time. I have my main sound system and a pair of studio monitors in other rooms of the house.
Hi ! Thanks so much for the reviews. How do you compare old school / vintage speakers (from turntables ?) like JVC SK 700 II or others similar Pioner HPM, JBL L100, Sansui SPX, etc. With modern ones, like Yamaha HS7 or these Adam T5V Or even with Edifier r2000db or S2000 ? I want to play music and guitar (processed by effects and cab sims outputting line level power) in stereo on bedroom Haha. Sorry if i've pretended too much. I just want to have a rough idea how these three (vintage, modern monitor / modern home) speakers compare ! Thanks !

Hey next best thing I'm trying to get a good speaker for my Yamaha RX v6a receiver heard alot about klipsch rp600m but d horn is forward sounding n dali oberon 3 is ok too so what should I get and how can I hookup that adam audio to receiver
Either the adam the t5v or t7v will out perform the krk's as they are just better monitor speakers. This is coming from someone that owns krk speakers so totally an unbiased opinion
Interseting vid, was really looking for this kind of review ‘cause i’m evaluating this monitor as “hi-fi + dj monitor” for my setup (instead of real hifi speaker+amp). Read often that the t5v is even better than t7v; do you heard it? (the room is 3x4)
Can you please make a review of Dynaudio BM5 MKIII studio monitors coz there arent many reviews of them and i like them how they sound for listening only cheers
With these monitors in a hifi set up, can you focus on the music or are you forced to focus on the sound, i.e. the technical side (treble, mid, bass, width of soundstage, depth, instrument separation, and so forth) ?
I have the S3V monitors. I'm immersed in the beautiful music and the clarity just adds goosebumps. I feel that any lesser speakers are doing the music an injustice.
I've been using studio monitors for my HiFi needs. Started with Adam F7, then A7x and now I own the Adam Tensor Delta. Pretty Happy with it. Next you should review their higher end model s2v or s3v or s3h.
I love my S3Vs. These replace my high school system, which was actually really good. I did my research for a few weeks and found these speakers for $4500, open box. These speakers are ridiculously detailed with sound that can be compared to high-end headphones, but with incredibly tight, body-pounding bass. I've been reading about people's "audio journeys", but mine ended shortly after it started. Plus, the wife loves the lack of junk between the speakers - there's only the fireplace.
I got mines today, but there is a whitenoise going on forever when turned on and not even connected to anything. I tried another powe source but there is still this silent noise going on which is very frustrating for me. Does anybody know how to fix it?
I've had these for 2 months now, there's absolutely no hiss. You should contact Adam Audio for support. It's probably a faulty unit that you can get replaced.
So who are the 8 people that gave a thumbs down? you have to be a real POS to go around giving thumbs down reviews on any videos unless they are offensive or unless the creator is just putting total crap together and they know it (and they don't care). Otherwise, I think it is really bad for your Karma meter if you do that. I have two accounts. This one, which I use to go around subscribing to 90% of the channels I visit (it is free to give people some love and some money). I also make sure to put a thumbs up on almost all the videos I watch unless they suck bad (in which case I don't do shit except contacting the person and letting them know the issues with the video). so show some freaking love people!
Every "new and improved" version by Adam, JBL, etc keeps getting worse build quality, cheaper drivers, electronics, etc. This version actually weight less than the previous. Result of cheaper cabinets. The woofer has a smaller magnetic structure. Buy something else.
Yes, T7V is anything but studio monitors. They are mediocre hi fi speakers, they are quite good as desktop speakers, but they are completely unsuitable for studio monitors. Too many lows, almost no middle and especially high middle, I bought them recently and I am very sad for this ... I think that in this category YAMAHA is the only choice for those who record real music with real instruments and not for those who "write" EDM, RAP, TRAP and all these kinds of "music"

Great review dude, thank you. I will likely buy these. How would you compare vs pioneer VM50?
Happy with my desktop setup of klipsch rp500m, smsl amp, topping dac. I prefer it over studio monitors I tried.
trying to make the same decision now, 600m so big tho, which did you try?
The sentiment seems to be that all the good Klipsch stuff is vintage. Glad you’re happy! I was on the fence between Klipsch and Adam Audio. Ended up getting a pair of T5Vs and a T10S sub for my desk.
Great review as always. Have been wanting these speakers for a long time, this has gotten me closer to pulling the trigger!
Good Review. Since you are touching on folded Ribbons there is a hot topic speaker I would love to see a review on. The Wharfedale Evo 4.2. Also if you can somehow get your hands on a pair of Ascend Sierra 2EX. Go against the Grain! Thanks
👌👍👏👏Great review J as always I would love for you to review the Martin Logan XT 35i bookshelf speakers they have the air motion Transformer tweeter I've never heard a speaker that has a soundstage and depth like these do I have a pair they are magical and just disappear💪💪💪🥂🥂🥂🥂👌👍👍👍👍
Today the speaker was stronly recommended on audiosciencereview. 2020.12.05.
Affordable, considering the quality pleated ribbon. I might get a pair for by bedroom TV. Right now I am using Audioengine, of which the high freq extension is sorely lacking.
They look sick
How would this compare to Edifier S2000 mkiii? They are in similar price range and both come up often for best under 500.
I chose these because of the tweeter design
I currently have a pair of jbl 308's mk1 but I want something smaller, do you recommend this?
If you are looking for a little more bass extension, the T7V or even T8V have just that.
Which has a better midrange T7 or T5?
All cost 900 Euro here.
We use a Yamaha WXC-50 as brain.
Thank you and keep on like that. More from China Hifi Audio please 😁 So much exotic stuff there.
May be try A77X by ADAM ? SERVES AS NF+MF.
Adam were doing cool home speaker stuff ten years ago and then the take over stopped it.
Good haircut by the way.
I have t5v and elacs fs207ae and adams are really, really excelent especially for this price point. Small protip, HF set to -2dB becouse charracteristic is more flat and more adorable for ear.
Thanks for the review. I'm a dj and love many different genre of music. Would someone recommend these fir techno?
Does it make sense to buy a single Adam T5V monitor to put on my fridge in the kitchen for everyday listening to music? Would the T5V be too directional for that purpose? I'll probably be off axis from that monitor a lot of the time. I have my main sound system and a pair of studio monitors in other rooms of the house.
Yes a monitor is directional, if you're not in the sweetspot, the sound will be less detailed
Hi ! Thanks so much for the reviews.
How do you compare old school / vintage speakers (from turntables ?) like JVC SK 700 II or others similar Pioner HPM, JBL L100, Sansui SPX, etc.
With modern ones, like Yamaha HS7 or these Adam T5V
Or even with Edifier r2000db or S2000 ?
I want to play music and guitar (processed by effects and cab sims outputting line level power) in stereo on bedroom
Haha. Sorry if i've pretended too much. I just want to have a rough idea how these three (vintage, modern monitor / modern home) speakers compare !
Thanks !
Which tape machine is behind your back in this video and can you make an review with this? Thanks for your help!
Great review. How would you compare these to the Audioengine A5’s?
I bought the T7V
How do they sound?
Hi Jay I wonder if it is the same sound character on adam t5v and Hedd type 7. I have adam t5v that I like and thought to switch to Hedd? Would you recommend it? Thanks
what do you think / how does it to the folded ribbon tweeters Emotiva uses? I was thinking about picking up Airmotiv T-Zero's.
Hey Jay, Nice review as always, How do these compare to Kanto Yu speakers?
What's the music @4:03? Thanks for the review.
Hey - .. Would you discourage using these in a medium sized Theater / Gaming system? (11(7.4.4) speakers ) - no more than 8 feet away from MLP.
... I am looking to do something really different. Thanks!
Hi, I would like your suggestion for an integrated solid state that has punchy and spacious sound like the old vintage sansuis integrated. Do you think I can have a good preamp with active Yamaha or Adam audio monitors , do these monitors have good soundstage? Adam T8V or yamaha HS8.Thanks
Hey next best thing I'm trying to get a good speaker for my Yamaha RX v6a receiver heard alot about klipsch rp600m but d horn is forward sounding n dali oberon 3 is ok too so what should I get and how can I hookup that adam audio to receiver
Compared to the Krk Rokit 5 g4, would you get just as much bass and clarity do you think?
Either the adam the t5v or t7v will out perform the krk's as they are just better monitor speakers. This is coming from someone that owns krk speakers so totally an unbiased opinion
which monitor speakers in this price category have you tested, would you say these are the best out of them?
Interseting vid, was really looking for this kind of review ‘cause i’m evaluating this monitor as “hi-fi + dj monitor” for my setup (instead of real hifi speaker+amp). Read often that the t5v is even better than t7v; do you heard it? (the room is 3x4)
I am a little concerned with the metal back plate - it doesn't appear to be damped, or all that secure to the cabinet, either.
Can you please make a review of Dynaudio BM5 MKIII studio monitors coz there arent many reviews of them and i like them how they sound for listening only cheers
Adam are very good we are the service agency in Australia
"...invented over 30 years ago..."
Correction: Heil AMTs were first introduced to the market 49 years ago (ESS AMT1 - 1972)
Well, 49 years ago is more than 30 years ago... So... No correction was needed, though your statement would be a more accurate one.
Adam t5v good for bedroom dj?
With these monitors in a hifi set up, can you focus on the music or are you forced to focus on the sound, i.e. the technical side (treble, mid, bass, width of soundstage, depth, instrument separation, and so forth) ?
I have the S3V monitors. I'm immersed in the beautiful music and the clarity just adds goosebumps. I feel that any lesser speakers are doing the music an injustice.
Hey Jay! Just curious if the giveaway is still happening 😁? Thanks and nice haircut! 👍🏽
What about t7 adam
Please make a review of Dynaudio bm5 mkiii there are very little informative interviews on you tube
I’m trying to decide between Adam t5v and t7v. Any thoughts ?
I listening the T5V is Better tham T7V ;)
Go for a Shop and Test them
Would you recommend the Adam T5Vs over the PSB P5 for nearfield use?
I am interested in this as well. Did you come to a conclusion about this?
Am I the only one who is anxious about the buchardt s400 speaker giveaway?
So these in fact have built-in Subsonic protection?
Are these good with television???
Is this better than Mackie MR524? Somebody knows?
How do these compare to HEDD Type 05?
Does they have hiss noise without music playing?
Add a DAC with a pre out like a Topping D50 and you've got a system that will eat a Sonos.
I have a Topping E 30 to go with my T5V's
@@MikkeyFacts How is it? Do you hear hiss?
How about the Emotiva B1+?
the ribbon alone is alien tech
I got mines today, but there is a whitenoise going on forever when turned on and not even connected to anything. I tried another powe source but there is still this silent noise going on which is very frustrating for me. Does anybody know how to fix it?
I've had these for 2 months now, there's absolutely no hiss.
You should contact Adam Audio for support. It's probably a faulty unit that you can get replaced.
Hey! You cut your hair! Looking sharp Jay
A haircut and what looks like a wedding ring? WTF?
Why is hedd looks like Adam is it owned by Adam audio
Br How about comparing the bass between Bose S1pro on this model ? Can any one respond for me Thank you
So who are the 8 people that gave a thumbs down? you have to be a real POS to go around giving thumbs down reviews on any videos unless they are offensive or unless the creator is just putting total crap together and they know it (and they don't care).
I kinda missed a sound test.
Outstanding overview thank you ◇€Z◇
Nice haircut!
This or kef lsx
This.
@@morespinach9832 mm u sure have u tried both fan u recommend me hifi speakers
Do not read from the prompter.
Adam ax series sound way better, more punchy and detailed than t series
Every "new and improved" version by Adam, JBL, etc keeps getting worse build quality, cheaper drivers, electronics, etc. This version actually weight less than the previous. Result of cheaper cabinets. The woofer has a smaller magnetic structure. Buy something else.
*what's better than this? At the same price.
Umm what ? What did the T5V replace that was built better ?
Yes, T7V is anything but studio monitors. They are mediocre hi fi speakers, they are quite good as desktop speakers, but they are completely unsuitable for studio monitors. Too many lows, almost no middle and especially high middle, I bought them recently and I am very sad for this ...
I think that in this category YAMAHA is the only choice for those who record real music with real instruments and not for those who "write" EDM, RAP, TRAP and all these kinds of "music"
Ty for cutting your hair
it was a journey with all the mask and precautions but totally worth it... my hair was out of control !
@@Jayiyagi.. I think your hair was probably acting as room treatment!!!
... Huge AMT fan here.... Some are capable of spectacular top end👌🏻
Should have done at least one video with straight up anime hair.
My power cord costs more than those speakers lol
Ни...я не понятно
