"Everyone can play covers, how about you start doing some music on your own?" This is what I read quite a lot in my comments. Unfortunately, my original music never gets as many views as my covers (because no-one looks for it because not a lot of people know that it exists...) but I brought out three original albums over the last few years. All the music is available for free on RUclips and also streamable on all bigger streaming platforms. Look out for "Sina Chi Might" to have a listen or click the link below to find a RUclips playlist with all songs made for the Chi Might Project:

I'm really impressed. This is right on. Better than I played it when I recorded it; much love to this young drummer.
Yes! "A woman can be tough"... and yes, @Sina, you are!! Once again, I can no longer listen to the original track without hearing your version and seeing you play it. Peace... and like I have said in several other comments: let's bring back the movement of the '60's, but let's get it "right" this time. Back then, the youth of the '60's thought they could change the world, but they got older and "gave up". Let's (all of us... various ages from 20 to 80+) band together and make a difference, through Peace, Love, and Music!
We changed the world (Woodstock attendee), but then the bills to pay for it started to come in, and work we must!
I got to share a shot of Southern Comfort and a joint with Janis at the Festival Express at Calgary just before she died. A beautiful lady and a great job on the drums, Sina. You two are peers.
Doubt it
@@Throbbing_Gimp of course you do. I don’t, I was there.
She has that old school rock and roll vibe and I love it. NGL, I find myself wanting to add in some tambourine and cow bell! Crank it up!!!
Sina proves one more time that in a band the orchestra conductor is the drummer. The band is as good as the drummer is.
I love finding out how complex the drumming was in some of these old songs. It tends to be hard to hear on the original recordings. Very satisfying
Seeing is believing.
Janis was in a class by herself. Sina proves once again why she is in a class by herself! What a fine tribute Sina (who's been known in comments as looking a little like Janis with her hair and clothing), even dressing in the peasant top that so defined the 60's hippy generation at the time! Yet another perfect tribute to a timeless classic!! You continue to show you're the best!!
Janis was great, love her music. I too have seen those comments but would have to disagree with them.
She was the shit.. I love her music
Different than generation 9
I don't know. I don't think Sina looks anything like Janis Joplin. She's her own person. Great cover though.
@@jeffengland2791 I agree with you. Sina indeed has her own look, but having been a fan of Sina for over 4 years, it's been mentioned a lot in her previous videos.
Holding the snare drum perfectly. That is a perfect drummer.
Janis and another Janis with sticks.
This drum cover was super great. I never realized how involved the drums were in this song over Janis singing those amazing notes. Sina that was amazing.
Super drumming excellent❤😊
Sina is the best on drums in the world! Period!
Yes, Sina. Keep carrying the torch of light on your drumsticks. Yours is a beautiful thing.
I Dig All Your Classic Rock Covers & Your Colabs And Your Band, Along With Original Creations , Your Stick Holding Style Is The Best, Its Your Way Of Sharing Your Love And Passion For The Instrument And Those Whom Have Inspired You, Thanks For Inspiring Many And Representing The Art Of Drumming And Music !!!!
I can't stop watching your all videos dear. You're really great. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I never realized that Janice drummer was that good or the drumming that complicated learn something new everyday awsome job loved it
I wish you could have seen Janis J perform this song at the Woodstock festival. Just so you can see how up close and personal some of your covers are. Yes, you have music for blood in your veins, and it is constantly renewing itself, and you, as you continue on this Rock n' Roll journey. Such excellent cover choices, you amaze me sometimes with your ability to know what your patrons want to hear, and then some. So very, very cool!
Sina in her "retro" top & that thingimigig in her hair, definitely makes this a tribute to Janis 😍 how about more covers from the time of "love & peace"
Great job! Happy upcoming birthday! Great peasant top! My wife wore them back in the '60s/'70s when she was your age.
WOWZERS !! Janis would be proud of you covering this song I'm sure !
Simply Amazing Young Lady! From all the different camara angles to your outfit it was a step back in time.
Thank You for sharing your wonderful talents with us Young Lady ! Have a Wonderful weekend ! ✌️❤️🙏
Moin Sina! Lieben Dank für die Performance! Excellente Auswahl! Well done! Nun sind wir alle wach! Es grüßen Dich herzlichst deine Fish-Friends under your Boat!
WOW! JJ was on of the hippiest rock and rollers trailblazing herself into history. She had a style that was simply put, fit for the ages. Loved this woman’s music. It’s a shame she left us at such a young age. I watched a documentary on her. It was both great and sad at the same time. But she was loved and admired so much by America and when she performed at Woodstock, she was the wildest thing in the world. She didn’t hold anything back.
Janis definitely poured her heart and soul into her vocals. Her voice and vocal style was unique. One of the most talented singers of her era. Now I believe that Sina is an old soul in a young body. She definitely played drums in one of the bands from that era in rock n roll.
You have NO idea how this video struck me when I found it! My sister Christine was a hippie in the 60's and her favorite artist back then was Janis Joplin. I used to hear her play her records on her turntable all the time. Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez, Carly Simon, James Taylor but this was her favorite! Thank you Sina for bringing me back for a little while to my childhood to give me some really great memories! My sister died of liver cancer in 1995. I miss her every day. You are awesome young lady! Don't ever stop! That was really cool!
Wonderful. I grew up on this music. Ate, slept , and dreamed. Old guy here. Beautifully done! Thanks. I do miss the red sneaks but nothing is forever 'cept, maybe, music. :)
That smile says it all -Love the camera angles❤
Saw her performance in 1970 at the HIC Honolulu Hawaii with the Full Tilt Boogie Band while trippin. You nailed the energy and look.
I mean....what can you say? Incredible talent! What a treat to watch and listen to a performer like Sina.
Thanks Sina for continuing to bring some of these golden oldies back to life for us golden oldies.
'EY! speak for yourself... Imay have to grow up, but I will never grow old. Thank you very much!
Nice...feeling the part. Miss some of those soulful singers.
Follewed Sina for years and this could possibly be my favorite cover.
Janis would be proud. Total command of your instrument just like she was. Incredible!
Nothing beats the rock and roll classics. That's why it's so great to watch Sina perform.
Sina channeling her inner Janis right down to her hair and shirt. She's just great!
It’s with a great pleasure I listen to your music.
“It makes me feel good”
Masterclass!
A Brilliant performance. We always knew you got it Sina, because your music makes us feel good. Your power and energy is a fitting tribute to Janis. An Exceptional Cover.
Knew Janis from Threadgill’s. This stirred my heart. Thank you.
You’re such an inspiration! Your drum playing is so emotional. I get it. Thank you!
Janis would to be happy to see Sina play the drums.✌️🤘🚀🚀🥁🥁
You're not kidding!!!!! Can you imagine Sina and Janis on stage performing this heavily emotional song?? Wait,, I think that's what I just witnessed.Thank you Sina, had to stop crying before I could comment
Whoa! ❤️🇺🇸🙏🕊🥁✝️🥁🕊🙏🇺🇸❤️
Wonderful tribute to Janis! Only you, Sina, know how to do it! Magnificent. 👏👏👏
She is excellent! Her quality is so good!! Congratulations!!!
Everything is perfect again... The music, the performance and the outfit 🥰🌹⭐️
I absolutely love Janis and you nailed it!
Sina, you crushed it! This is my favorite song by Janis Joplin and Big Brother And The Holding Company. Your drumming is up several notches from the original and the clarity is amazing. Your performance brought back many fond memories for me of my youth. Thank you! Have a great weekend!
Incredible! It does my heart amazing knowing people so young even see the greatness of Joplin. Thanks so much Sina! Janis would have absolutely loved you and the tribute. 😎👍🤟
Technically, your drumming is exceptionally strong. Even better though, is your musicality. Your “feel” for this song is what makes your performance next level good. Thank you for sharing this!
Sina, the happiest drummer ever.
Musicality you a berry berry bad mon
Great tribute to a shy young lady from Texas who became the world's first female rockstar! I've watched the live concert footage of this song from Germany when she encouraged everyone to climb on stage with her, and now Sina's amazing performance brings a happy tear to my eye remembering it !!
Great one
I have been watching your work behind the drums since you were young, I love your passion for classic rock
As a native of Port Arthur, Texas, 🇺🇸, I can really appreciate this video. Great job, Sina!!
Wow non conoscevo le canzoni di Janis bella ti guardo da poco suoni sempre dei bellissimi brani ti guardo e sembra di tornare ai tempi hippy❤
This is another one of those iconic drum parts that helps define the song. Brilliantly done! ❤
Right up there with your "Hey Joe" cover, exceptional. A classic.
Thanks for brightening my afternoon, Sina! Hope you have fun tomorrow as you turn 24.
Happy Birthday dear Sina ! You are truly a piece of heart for everyone of us. All the best from a 49er to a 99er. Maybe that I'll see you in Innsbruck, cause it's pretty close to Munich, my hometown.
Can’t thank you enough for sharing, putting yourself out there and collaborating with others. I love tuning in for the latest and greatest from you. More power to you and the group.
Fantastic Sina! Great choice. Fun performance! There is so much more going on to the drum part in a backing track. Letting us see your work really shows that. Amazing stuff. Keep it up!
Thank you. You have done a wonderful job of improving the presentation of the cymbals. One technique I used in micing drum kits was to just use 2 directional mics. Work with the angles to get the balance I wanted. And have a right and a left signal to work with. And no drum mics.
Thanks Sina! Your smile is charming, your work is impeccable!
Gregory omPeckible
Love hearing and seeing all the different style of drums that you're able to play. beautiful.
My two favorite female musicians, Janis and Sina! What a great combo doing a great song! Love the outfit, Sina!
lv her music n I still hv her cassette n most of the gd singers,, n ur the best on ur drums like u wer der playing for dem or wit dem I mean,, o listen to all ur drum playing it sounds like u wer der wit dem bk in the day ,, thank u for playing all Dee's oldies
Great, Sina drumming in 1968 outfit a classic rock song, and the Woodstock feeling is back. The emotionaly expressive voice of Janis Joplin and Sina's perfect drumming will make my day.
I have to tell you that Janis is probably smiling from heaven at your skill. Now I want to see and hear you play the drums for a challenging piece of rock history. Do Led Zepplin's Moby Dick. If I'm right, you will be able to stay up with the late, great John Bonham.
A nice piece of Sina's art. Glad to see our preferred drummer back in full health and in a wonderfull woodstock tunic.
YOU GO GIRL !!! Love the outfit. Fits the time period perfect.
Your energy is over the top. Stay safe and keep up the awesome job.
The 60's look is you. Another great job. Janis Joplin was a Queen. 👸
Whoa!! Great job. One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands and singers. BB&HC. Terrific job on this!!~ (+ like your Janis Joplin outfit)
Hi Sina! Love your big smile at the end :) Your performance leaves me speechless. You're the best!
Hi bro
Vielen lieben Dank!!!👍👍👍
This is an artist the younger generation needs to discover. Good on you to bring attention to her.
Bravo Sina !!.
Je te suis depuis très longtemps, toujours aussi Performante !!👍😉 .
JJ is my all time favorite female artist. Good job 👍👍
Brilliant Performance Sina... BRAVO!
A truly Wonderful outfit and a very Nice tribute to James Getz, the drummer in 1968.
You're always surprising me but in reality, it's called hard work and dedication... Keep it up!
Have an AWESOME Birthday today Sina!!
Dave Getz
I shared 2 passions with Janis, a real love for '60s Blues Rock and Folk Music and an obsession with the automobiles of an Austrian-German engineer, Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche. My first job after graduation from high school was as an auto tech at a Porsche-Audi dealership in 1973. That career kept me smiling for the next 25 years.
36 air cooled Porsche cars later and too many LP stereo albums to keep count of, I still cling to the wonderful rush that comes from both classic Rock music and fast vintage sports cars.
Thank you Sina for all the lovely memories you stirred from that fabulous period of time when AI did not exist and both music and sports cars were made by skilled minds and hands.... Happy Birthday🧡🎂
Awesome Sina!
Your choice of attire for this video was pretty much spot on. 😉
the best female singer of all times goes with the best female drummer in the world GO LADIES GO!
Karen Carpenter says hold my beer........
Just great!
Sina's drumming always makes me feel good! Another great drum cover of a classic song! Thanks, Sina! Catch you on Saturday!
Ditto. Your values and standards and good work ethic etc. show through and with each and every drum beat (of your heart). Bravo!.........
Love It! A true classic song by an Angel of the sixties who left us way too soon. Nice job Sina on your clothing choice that reflects Janis's era so well and of course nice job on your drumming. Drumming, they say, is the link between Heaven and Earth. You've shown that to be true for over a decade now. Time marches on so... ROCK ON!
Hi sina its the old codger, I love this track, thank you for for such a great tribute, in a lot of ways your version are far superior then the originals, I have my old 45s ( 45s are single records, ) and the equipment back then the sound was very tinny especially the drums , so please carry on with more projects and thank you once again x
your dedication in playing your instruments is truly a credit to you, keep up the fantastic work👍👍. i wish you could come to Sydney Australia for one of your gigs. ❤❤❤❤
The giants of the last decades continue to bear fruit and are considered "classics", that is, "classic" as something worth imitating.
Even the new generations have to hold on to those musicians to stand out at least a little.
The current generations cannot compete with these "giants" because their ability to generate poetry, set the lyrics to music, is not in them.
Sina will have to keep doing covers, is there anything else she can do?
Perfect cover for Friday made my day so great thanks Sina i hope you and everyone has a wonderful day and a great weekend you are so amazing and awesome Drummer.👏🙂🙏✌️❤️
Oh sweet Janice, you left us way too soon. The world is a sadder place without your sweet sweet music. Thanks for bringing this to us Sina. Happy Birthday! Do good, be safe.
A timeless classic..!
And the song's pretty good, too..!
Excellent job young lady! Great to see a smile too!
Sina that was one of the best covers/tributes that you have ever done! I think that your " hippie chick" attire ( whether intentional or not ) added to the authenticity and emotional power of your drumming
In this video. As I have explicitly and implicitly written before ,.as you mature as a person and as a musician you never cease to amaze
And move me. I live in NYC several hours travel time away from Woodstock, NY. I was a child when
the original Woodstock festival occurred in 1969 .But if there is another anniversary concert with you on the bill I.will be in attendance come Hell.or high water. 😊❤
P.S. your smile at the end of the video is like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae🍨
She gets no bucks it’s all free u can donate homie I give to a couple things
You got the look! You would have fit right in with The Holding Company. You got me groovin'!
I’m still smiling. I’ve loved this song the first time I heard it in the late ‘60s, but I never heard it like this. Your drumming matched the ups and downs of Janis’ performance - building, then quiet, building again, etc. I’m guessing that the tempo of the original song sped up and slowed down instead of being “on the grid” like today’s music. Somehow I’m now imagining a sober Keith Moon playing for Big Brother and the Holding Company, and I hope you take that as a heartfelt compliment.
Long live Janis! Sina is an international treasure! Thee best music when growing up in 1960s/70s
and thanks for wearing that top as a tribute
Sina is a true soul of rock and roll 😊
A classic drummer covering a classic singer and song 👍
AWESOME !
Another amazing drum cover by the BEST DRUMMER IN THE WORLD Sina!!!!!
Thanks for bringing Piece of My Heart to life. Even your hair moved like Joplin...the braid was cool.
Janis Joplin is/was one of the top 3 female vocalists of all times!❤
To see someone of your generation and stature play this does wonders for my 58 year old brain. You brought all your techniques together for this one.
I’d really like to see you play a Stones song, particularly “Shattered”. Sina doing Watts is needed for all us drummers.
Her smile at the end says it all. A great job on a great song from a time when the music was great and the performances greater than life. Sina added another such performance. Spot on, as is her way. Big Brother and the Holding Company live on. RIP Janis, you are not forgotten. I shudder to think that I was only a little younger than Sina when I first heard that album. Brings tears to my eyes to relive it. Danke schön, vielen dank.
