"Everyone can play covers, how about you start doing some music on your own?" This is what I read quite a lot in my comments. Unfortunately, my original music never gets as many views as my covers (because no-one looks for it because not a lot of people know that it exists...) but I brought out three original albums over the last few years. All the music is available for free on RUclips and also streamable on all bigger streaming platforms. Yes! "A woman can be tough"... and yes, @Sina, you are!! Once again, I can no longer listen to the original track without hearing your version and seeing you play it. Peace... and like I have said in several other comments: let's bring back the movement of the '60's, but let's get it "right" this time. Back then, the youth of the '60's thought they could change the world, but they got older and "gave up". Let's (all of us... various ages from 20 to 80+) band together and make a difference, through Peace, Love, and Music!

What a fine tribute Sina (who's been known in comments as looking a little like Janis with her hair and clothing), even dressing in the peasant top that so defined the 60's hippy generation at the time! WOW! JJ was on of the hippiest rock and rollers trailblazing herself into history. She had a style that was simply put, fit for the ages. Loved this woman’s music. It’s a shame she left us at such a young age. I watched a documentary on her. It was both great and sad at the same time. But she was loved and admired so much by America and when she performed at Woodstock, she was the wildest thing in the world. She didn’t hold anything back.

I shared 2 passions with Janis, a real love for '60s Blues Rock and Folk Music and an obsession with the automobiles of an Austrian-German engineer, Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche. My first job after graduation from high school was as an auto tech at a Porsche-Audi dealership in 1973. That career kept me smiling for the next 25 years.
36 air cooled Porsche cars later and too many LP stereo albums to keep count of, I still cling to the wonderful rush that comes from both classic Rock music and fast vintage sports cars.

The giants of the last decades continue to bear fruit and are considered "classics", that is, "classic" as something worth imitating.
Even the new generations have to hold on to those musicians to stand out at least a little.
The current generations cannot compete with these "giants" because their ability to generate poetry, set the lyrics to music, is not in them.
Sina will have to keep doing covers, is there anything else she can do?

Sina that was one of the best covers/tributes that you have ever done! I think that your " hippie chick" attire ( whether intentional or not ) added to the authenticity and emotional power of your drumming

And move me. I live in NYC several hours travel time away from Woodstock, NY. I was a child when
the original Woodstock festival occurred in 1969 .But if there is another anniversary concert with you on the bill I.will be in attendance come Hell.or high water. 😊❤
P.S. your smile at the end of the video is like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae🍨

I’m still smiling. I’ve loved this song the first time I heard it in the late ‘60s, but I never heard it like this. Your drumming matched the ups and downs of Janis’ performance - building, then quiet, building again, etc. I’m guessing that the tempo of the original song sped up and slowed down instead of being “on the grid” like today’s music. Somehow I’m now imagining a sober Keith Moon playing for Big Brother and the Holding Company, and I hope you take that as a heartfelt compliment.

To see someone of your generation and stature play this does wonders for my 58 year old brain. You brought all your techniques together for this one.
I’d really like to see you play a Stones song, particularly “Shattered”. Sina doing Watts is needed for all us drummers.

Her smile at the end says it all. A great job on a great song from a time when the music was great and the performances greater than life. Sina added another such performance. Spot on, as is her way. Big Brother and the Holding Company live on. RIP Janis, you are not forgotten. I shudder to think that I was only a little younger than Sina when I first heard that album. Brings tears to my eyes to relive it. Danke schön, vielen dank.
