Doesn't make sense to save $5 at the pump from gains in rolling resistance over the life of the tires if you're going to spend $5000 fixing your car after a frontal collision due to aquaplaning or failing to brake in time.
Yes! Safety first... That's why I would actually pick the Michelin PS5 over its competitors. Better aquaplaning resistance. I once was in an aquaplaning incident as a passenger. Once in my life is enough.
That's what insurance is for. Your max loss is your deductible. Odds of that accident happening varies from person to person. Your blank statement is what doesn't make sense.
@@Banana-wo1fk It seems I'll have to move away from Michelin. Yokohama, Tokyo and Nankang are the only ones with recent offerings in 15 inch performance tires in the specs I need (195/50/15 or 205/50/15).
I recently bought F1 asymmetric 6 for my lexus and this channel is why I got them in the first place. 225/40/18 in front grip like crazy. Before I was using Hankook Ventus but F1 is a lot more confident to drive especially in wet. Also rim protection is another plus. Thank you for great reviews!
@@errorhitmanrazor Thanks for the feedback! I'm considering those for my GS430. With the weight of the car I hope they will provide some comfort on daily commute.
On a Lexus......damm I'm looking to possibly put them on my focus lmao . I previously had the vector gen 2s and they was amazing . Obviously they was all season tyres even though I'm in the south of U.K. but we did just have 2 days of snow with 4 days of ice after , honestly best tyres I have ever bought . How are your tyres holding up now mate ? Very interested in your thoughts.
Just mounted a set of GY Eagle F1 Assy6 on my Mercedes last Saturday and so far I am in love with them. 225/45/17 is the size. Good grip in wet, superb in dry, pretty quiet and the comfort is okay. Transformed the car, turn-in is quick and the steering weights up nicely. 10/10 would reccomend
I put the Asymmetric 6 on to replace the F1 Supersports and I must say they are almost as good in the dry, much better in the wet and they don't seem to need warming up like the Supersport did before being able to use them. I think they are a much better fit for all round road driving, especially given the UK weather.
Hi. Very interesting!! Have you also had the A5's? I chose them over the supersport last July, because of their better wet grip. What size/car have you used those 2 on? Thanks
Because of the recent review, I switched from MP4s to Conti Sport 7’s on my RS3 and it’s transformed the car! Much keener turn in, superb grip, better ride, lower tyre noise. Haven’t tried it in the wet yet but I’ve never had so much confidence in the car!
@@flamerz3000 I think they are better, especially in the wet. I will buy them again! They seem to be wearing well which is better than the Conti 6’s I had on my old Golf R.
I’m so used to Michelins ps4s. I have a 2018 Audi TTRS and need new tyres soon. I have been eyeing these conti sport contact 7 for a while and I’m still not sure if I should make the switch. How much quieter is it than the ps4s and how is the wear so far? Would you say wear is better than ps4s?
Bought Eagle F1 Assymetric 6s as a result of your reviews... everything you said was spot on...amazing grip, ride, sporty handling and comfort. It seriously upgraded my saab 93 aero fun levels. Thanks for your recommendations 👍
I can add to that. Bought them for my Edition 35 GTI. Did some 5 laps on the Nürburgring with 3500km road trip and I can say that they are amazing. No need to heat them like the Supersport and have amazing grip in the rain
First of all, thank you for the great content. I appreciate it. I purchased a full set of the brand new Hankook Ventus Prime 4 last month and after driving 1600 Km’s on mostly highways I can say that I’m loving it so far. Compared to Michelin Primacy 4 it’s slightly louder (although still considerably quiet compared to its other rivals) bit less comfortable but I feel a lot more confident in higher speeds, the dry handling was definitely an improvement, the car feels a bit more dynamic in general. In wet, I would say they’re pretty much equal but I didn’t have the chance to really test it. Best of all it’s cheaper. I drive a VW Golf and the tire size is 205/55/16 91V btw.
Awesome, i've not tested them yet! Get your review on www.tyrereviews.com/submit.htm?match=Hankook-Ventus-Prime-4---Tyre-Reviews-and-Tests as that's awesome info
@@martin1649 Martin, can you expand on your statement that Michelins will dry rot, any model of Michelin? I've never heard that before for any tire. How long does it take for this process to start and under what conditions will it happen. Thanks.
I got a set of Asymmetric 6s on my Mini Cooper S after watching your videos, and the difference is just incredible! Buckets of grip now, completely transformed the car! Thank you for your testing!
I've read and watched a lot of videos about the bridgestone potenza Sport. So I put them on a Q5 3.0T last month and i've done more than 1k km on them. So far they are performing really well.
Bought the F1 Asymmetric 6 after watching your reviews. Very happy with the sporty handling and excellent grip (much better than original Bridgestones)!
I'd always thought low rolling resistance tyres were "dangerous" comparatively speaking & not worth the safety compromise, so nice to see some data back up my gut. Recently bought a JDM Lexus GS460 that came with some JDM Bridgestone tyres labeled as "Eco" (can't remember the model name) - they were near new, but hands down the worst tyres I've ever used on a vehicle with that kind of weight and power - scary as shit in the wet and vague & inconsistent in the dry. Replaced as soon as I could with PS4S's - night and day difference.
Not dangerous just not good. I don't feel the lost of control on eco tire more sudden than normal tire. Tires with good or bad grip don't affect the safety. The transition time from grip to no grip does. But yeah, eco tires are stiff and relatively easy to deform form my experience.
@@largelampard3721 Braking distance absolutely affects safety though, and the eco tyres were terrible at wet braking - also in any avoidance situation, more grip means you have more chance of avoidance - but yeah it's all comparative - those eco tyres were still better than what I was driving on 20 years ago, and I'm still here despite many a spin out and sustained loss of traction :-D
Anyone looking for a great winter tire, I recommend Bridgestone Blizzak. I put them on my Transit Connect and went up my steep gravel driveway covered in ice and snow as if was summertime! My all-seasons couldn't get me more than a few feet up the drive. Night and day difference. (Maine, USA)
I second that. This winter was one of the worst winters in recent years where I live and my Falken all-seasons didn’t quite cut it (btw I think they were pretty good all season tires especially for the price) so I traded them for Blizzaks and it made quite a difference. It’s probably the best winter tire I’ve ever used and would recommend without hesitation.
Saw your review a while ago and figured I'll take your advice and put on Sport Contact 7s. Haven't really driven around much yet, but MY GOD the grip (in dry so far) is absolutely ridiculous! Thanks for your work!
I'm using the Bridgsetone Potenza Sport for a month now, in 17inch and while i compare it with the previous Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 I came to the conclusion that sportwise this tyre is a steal in 17" wheel!! It totally transformed my car. What a tyre!
@@jkonquer3853 Most probably i am not going to be very accurate on that cause i never change them due to usage. I rarely do more than 15k km/4 years and that is why i chose them also.
Just bought the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 in 225/35/19 for my Seat Exeo St. All 4 of them. Thanks for the good advice. It's too early to put a review on the site but I will do that after some miles
Because of this review here, I ordered the CS7...Had to wait for 3 months and finally mounted them (235/35/19) last week ...and it is cheaper than PS4s by $60 per corner! Initial impression, very direct and a stiffer sidewall feeling compared to PZ4. Just hope that it can last at least as well as or better than PZ4 life, if it does I be very happy.

Hi. I'm driving on a Hankook Ventus Prime 4. I've drived already on wet and dry. also on very warm road and i can say that the tire is great. I'm prone to pushing the limits sometimes and tire handles that ok. In the wet is great, holds on beautifully. And the price in Croatia is great compared to others

@iNSTAGiB front wheel drive. Ford C Max 1.6 tdci 85 kw. Car is planted, no slippage even on harder acceleration. In the corners there is no understeer unless i really overcook it. On the wet tarmac compared to Hankook Kinergy 4S2 when new is far better
I would like to put this model, on my mondeo 2013, and from what I hear, sounds like a good ideea.

@@cristyliviu for me ended up great. Specially because of great pricing. Goodyear efficient grip 2 was much pricier here and i don't see it that much better
I just bought 4 michelins defender ms tires there incredible tires ,no noise smooth ,cornering ,and tire roll are little to none in the rain there incredible and there a 70k tire .it's on a 2020 honda pilot 😎. I can't wait to use these in the snow
I replaced Maxxis Premitra 5 (as they went out of round) with Michelin Primacy 4+. Michelin has more comfort and better MPG but at high speed cornering, it has no confidence at all. Can't say I am impressed, only wish the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 was available in my size!
Great, looking forward to the tests. Could you do, this coming winter, a test of winter/AS/summer tyres based around cold and wet conditions only? Not snow. Breaking, handling etc. That would be really interesting!
I would love to, however testing involves a lot of travel, and sadly we don't get to control the weather :( We always try and do the dry and wet part of testing when it's cold
I’ve had the sport contact 7 fitted to Leon cupra for the last few weeks and I have to say I am majorly impressed with the tyre overall. Living in Scotland you can have 4 seasons in one day and these tyre give you so much confidence to push the car in all weathers. I would even go say they are better than my previous MPS4s I had before. Only time will tell how they last for wear but my last set of fronts MPS4s lasted 8k miles and were shredded
@@tyrereviews You mean the PS4s are more thin than the Continental?! I speak size 275 35 19 ,the PS4s are shredding my wheelarchers and i want to know if the Continental sports contact 7 are a bit," smaler"" thin", not so wide how the ps4s.
As a Swede, ViBilägare translates to "We Car Owners" or "Us Car Owners". The Vi can be said just like an English "We", then "Bee" 🐝 "L" "eh" "gare". So basically "We beel eh gare" "We Beelehgare"
I removed the Michelin Energy Saver AS Selfseal tires from my brand new Chevy Bolt with just 600 miles on the ODO. After 12000 miles I have no regrets with the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, as Mr Benson properly recommended in this video.
I was thinking while watching - if these "eco" tyres result in an even tiny increase in crashes then the emissions from the repairs, write offs and even injuries - plus all the fuel from emergency response - will surely offset the tiny tiny fuel saving. Surely far better to encourage people to stop driving at their brakes by accelerating at red lights etc.
Have to say, very pleased with Michelin PS5 all round on my 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. 225 45 17 so only about £90 a corner delivered. When all 4 arrived in November 2022, the DOT code showed they were all only about 7 weeks old, nice and fresh!
The new Conti 7s are a very impressive tyre in all departments. Outstanding grip in wet and dry, excellent comfort, eager turn in, low noise and best of all- don't require warming up with their new compound. Coming from Goodyear Eagles and Michelin PS4s.. Conti 7s are the new standard to beat. Awesome tyres.
@@tyrereviews I am new to the truck tire game. Have been doing tons of research. These tires look to be the bomb, but there just isn't much 'actual experience' with them out there... Waiting on pins and needles my good man...
I recently installed the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 on my gt86 supercharged and I must say the grip is amazing in wet and dry, great confort and rolling noise is low. Coming from semi slick tires Yokohama AD08R I do miss a stronger sidewall which results in less steering feedback BUT my Assymetric 6 tires are not the XL (extra load) version and that might be the problem. I have been to the circuit with them and I must say they performed very well although the wear was quite brutal (quite hot day). Overall I'm very happy with their performance even coming from semi slick tires. PS: Forgot to say that I run 17s and I am in Europe. Most popular tires/sizes are not available.
@@tyrereviews I loved the AD08R for it's combination of the grip, direction change, longevity and some amount of daily usability, and since the AD08RS hasn't quite kept the same redeeming qualities, what would you consider to be the current closest readily available tyre to the old AD08R-s (Europe, 18"/19" fitment)?
Spot on about the e-Primacy. Put a set on the daughters Suzuki 2 weeks ago and apart from very low rolling resistance they have nothing going for them. Wet grip is abysmal and they will be replaced by Primacy 4 ST in the next week or so. e-Primacy should be removed from the marketplace ASAP!
It'd be nice if you could review some of the latest Falkens. Given the generally good reviews for the FK510 from your website, the FK520 should hopefully be very interesting.. Unfortunately, no one on the tube has tested them, and there's only 1 review on the site.. I am taking the plunge and will mount them to my Z4 Coupe in 235/35/19's front, and 265/30/19's rears tomorrow.
Appreciate the reviews. Would it ever be possible to do reviews on smaller tyres (14/15/16") for those who own older sporty vehicles? The tyre market is shrinking for these sizes and finding information on tires in these ranges is becoming harder everyday.
I have some experience with a couple tyres in those sizes: Pirelli P Zero Nero GT in 195/45 16: they are awesome, very good for sporty road driving especially in the dry. Firestone Roadhawk in 195/50 15: good touring tyre, not sporty, but quiet, comfortable and not expensive. Dunlop StreetResponse 2 in 175/65 14: very quiet, good grip, but also not very sporty. Hopefully this is worth something.
If OEM is 14" 15" tyres and wheels will be the best bet with the selecting without changing the character of your car too drastically. PS3, Potenza Re003s/Trackhack Indy 500 will work well if you've only experienced budget tyres on your car. They're relatively outdated now. The other option will be trackday tyres - which there will usually be something for all sizes. Falken Azenis Rt615k does something in 195 60 14. AR1s come in Miata OEM 185 60 14. You may also get some Yokohamas on this size too. In 15" your best option is likely to be Hankook RS4s. They're cheap and amongst the more durable 200TW tyres. Direzza Star Spec Z3 also worth a look too. All this is market dependent
Just mounted up a set of 295 squared Continental ExtremeContact Force tires on my new 19x11in wheels for my 2016 Mustang GT. Bought them based on your data from a recent test. Really interested to see how they compare on track to the 275 squared Rival S 1.5's I ran last year. First track day is this weekend...hopefully it stays dry!
I have a tire test recommendation for you. Same tire size on different wheel widths. For example a 255 on 8.5”, 9” and 10”. Supposedly the wider the wheel the better the tire handles.
I've currently got Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and I feel very conflicted between the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. They are both such good tires with overlapping pros that I'm looking for. Look forward to more tests and videos to really narrow down the differences.
On what car? If you want sharper dynamics, a better feel through the steering and firmer sidewalls, the A5 would be far better than the ps4 and highly likely the same with their new versions
@@James-RJM It's a Kia Stinger with the AWD V6. Stock tires are currently PS4 so I guess a natural progression would be the PS5 but I want to consider all my options. Seems like it's toss up between more comfort or more sportyness.
@@SushiParty Interesting car! The Goodyear will certainly give firmer sidewalls and more feel vs the michelin if A5 vs ps4 and likely the same with the A6 vs ps5. I run the A5's on my current GR Yaris convenience pack and had ps4s's on my previous i30N performance pack. I wish I'd put the A5's on that N now, due to the firmer sidewalls and better steering feel. A5's are very comfortable still. Personally would be happy with firmer. Once worn I'll likely be getting the A6's but a while to go so likely a newer version of the Goodyear f1 supersport is likely or maybe continental will have released their contact 7 in my 18's size by then?! I contemplated a stinger when getting the N but there wasn't an awd version in the uk. Nice to hear from another non badge snob 🙂
Really enjoy the Michelin Pilot Sport 5 (mine made from Michelin plant in China). Grip is great, even in raining at 120 km/h, no sign of aqua planing yet. And it is quite quiet in my opinion (compared to the Toyo Proxes Sport I used before). And sidewall is quite beautiful as you said.
Was wondering yesterday where you've been. Good to see you again. One day when you're a tad bored could we have a "Best Bang For The Buck Budget Performance Tyre" review for us less cashed up 17" plonkers?
My Chevy Bolt EV comes stock with Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires. They do “ok” in the dry but the wet traction from new was awful. Better than the Nexan eco tires that were on my old Kona EV, but still bad. By the time they got to 5/32”, they had to be replaced because they would hydroplane horribly in anything more than light rain. Replaced with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S4. The grip is not even in the same galaxy as the Eco tires…lightyears better. Downsides are that the PSAS4 are louder, especially on rough highways and they reduce the range by about 10-15%, but the improvements in grip and safety are substantial, especially in the wet. I think next time I’ll try the Goodyear efficient grip because they seem to perform really well and have pretty good rolling resistance.
I have the bfg trail terrains and love them. They handle all the changing Missouri seasons well. Snow performance was amazing, wet no issue. Dry good as well. Slightly more noise than my oem all seasons. 2017 Chevy Colorado
Bought the Conti Sportcontact 7 for this season. Currently 2000kms on them, and oh my god. Zero regrets! Grip for weeks campared to my old Maxxis Victrasport 5, much more quieter also. Very positive feeling in the front, doesn’t spin a mm either on launch control after some warming up on my stage 2+ 435i rwd. 420hp at the wheels. Love them👌🏻
I bought second hand rims that came with brand new Fulda winter tires (only for 200 euros total) Now going for a new set of summer tires i went for Toyo Proxes Comfort, the price for performance + very good wet capabilities (living in the netherlands so rain is very common here) i think this will be the best tire for me.
Awesome review. Why haven't you covered any of Nitto's tires before? I would really like to see your opinion/testing on the Nitto 555 G2 tire. Again great video as usual!
Thank you for excellent reviews! Went with Goodyear Assy 6 for our Tesla S. Very pleased so far, much lower noise (compared to worn Michelin Pilot Sport 4), good handling and good comfort. Didnt really bother with "EV" tyres and I think those are still a bit of a gimmick and so it seems to be. Maybe in 5 years but now as a family guy, I go for safety first.
I would love to see a UHP all season vs UHP summer tire test. Get the best of each and see how each compares. I have the Michelin AS4's in 275/40/20 on my charger scatpack and I love them. Curious how they stack up next to the PS4S or new 5's as well as the competition. Thanks for the great reviews!
It's kind of funny - My 2016 Subaru Outback isn't ready for a new set of tires (will see how things look just before Winter truly sets in), nor is my wife's 2020 Subaru Legacy; but I still enjoy watching these videos and keeping in the loop on things. :-)
@@tyrereviews To be honest, My kids and some family & friends usually ask my opinion on certain things, and tires happen to be one of them. For years I just used to say, "Go with Cooper or Goodyear and you're usually good to go."; but I've realized that tires have changed over the years, and that generic answer may not fit everyone, or give them the best tire or bang for their buck. It's like someone asking me, "What computer should I buy?" and my first question back to them is, "What do you want to do with it and how much do you want to spend?" ;-) Your videos just don't give me information, they SHOW me the tests, too, was well as your insights!
Looking forward to your review of the Bridgestone Potenza RE71 RS. I had these tires on my Honda CTR (FN2) for slightly over 4,300 miles now. Find its the best tire so far among all the Bridgestone tires that I have used in the past. These tires are used in the equatorial region and I (personally) find them sticky and good on the wet. I hope you will do a review of BS RE71 RS along with the Pilot Sport 5.
Fantastic objective reviews, as always! I am seriously considering the BFG Trail Terrain in the coming months. I can't wait to see your review on them as they are still so new there isn't much info out there!! Many speculated the continuous inner and outer shoulders will decrease its aquaplaning resistance, especially when worn. As it is marketed as an "on-road all-terrain" tyre, it's marketed towards people that drives on highway 95% of the time but wants the extra assurance in gravel and light snow; it'll be interesting to see how it performs against the H/T or SUV tyres it's intended to replace, especially in terms of wet on-road handling and noise.
Interesting you mentioned the primacy 4 vs the ePrimacy - I debated the e tyre but chose the standard one because it was a little cheaper, seems it. Wasn’t the wrong decision, do wish I could get the PS4 in a narrow 18 without having to sell a kidney!
@@tyrereviews I think you are correct. I called a small Tire Store in Dallas and he has access to "one of the largest suppliers" (so he says) and he said this supplier does not have it anywhere in the U.S.
Thanks for all you & your team's efforts with these reviews. Though i think there's still a gap - could you please do a review on run-flat tyres? I know many don't like them but some do rely on them as well as they still come fitted OE on some vehicles and each make is quite different. Also when reviewing them i think it'll be useful to have at least one runflat tyre's non-runflat version for comparison - are runflats really so bad compared to their non-rft brethren? Thanks. [For reference i have 45 profile tyres.]
Any ideas on when you'll be able to get your hands on the Yoko Advan V107? At £200 cheaper for a full set as opposed to ps4s - I'm seriously considering!
I'm definitely looking for a summer tire since I run a dedicated winter set. I think michelin sport 4s is the tire for me. If I can't get that then continental extreme contact sport. Thankfully they make both of them in my size 255/35 R18
Based on tests down here in Australia. The RE71RS’s is like 0.1 seconds faster than the Trofeo R. So they are similar. But that would make the Potenza Race much faster than the RE71RS. Seems like the Potenza Race is a Cup 2 R competitor
My Goodyear Asymmetric 5's have nearly worn down at the rear (BMW 1 Series) 16 months with about 1k miles per month. Was considering the 6's as a replacement as the cost is on par with the 5's but tread wear doesn't seem great on these. The fronts still have loads of tread left, I've also not done any burnouts but I do corner relatively hard and quick away from the lights...
First of I’m a huge fan and see or read all your reviews. As a former racer from Europe and now living in the hot Texas heat and the concrete roads I’m perplexed by finding a more suitable tire. Daily driver 2015 F80 M3 with stage 1 HP 550 TQ 500. Front tire 255/19 Michelin 4S rears 295/19 Michelin PSS like original. The ride is hard and harsh with smashing every concrete edge on the road way. I need traction of course but looking for more comfort and lower noise level. Guess I’m getting older. Lol Sorry for the long question. What do you suggest?
Thanks for the reviews you do. I just got a set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS6+ 235/40ZR19 for my 325HP Fusion Sport. The car handles and rides so much nicer than the stock Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric F1 AS. To be honest it obviously rode better after putting on the 4 year old winter tires Michelin Ice-X3 (235/45R18) , which made me decide to switch this spring. I was initially going to go a pure summer, but your reviews led me to the Conti UHP all season (I don't track race and the longer tread life of the AS is big plus for ~$1000 investment). I couldn't be happier.
Another informative video, thank-you. After communicating with Continental, Michelin, to name a few manufacturers contacted, my personal frustration is lack of production of run-flat 21inch UHP All Season or just All Season tyres, with no plans to produce in this size. This keeps me in the expensive 'no-other-choice' option than swapping between Summer and Winter tyres, yet my family live and drive across the UK, where All Season tyres make total sense, as your videos the past few years indicate is the most practical, sensible and cheapest option for UK drivers. Yes, an option of changing wheel and hence tyre size, of course is available, though not for 'looks', but even more expensive with storage issues and costs with storage. 21 inch tyres are a small segment of the tyre industry, yet more and more auto manufactures put these size wheels on vehicles from new than ever before. Frustrating as a consumer not to be given this choice and option.
Odd, what did you use them for? Unless you are tracking them weekly, the Michelins usually last longer than any other tyre you can buy. It’s one of Michelins defining characteristic actually. Even with their CUP 2s
@@Fonzizzz Normal driving and occasional spirited driving and track days. Within about 8 months I needed a new set. I drive a Forester STI and all around they were worn. Now running Eagle F1 A5 and they are really amazing. Did over 10k km's and they are still not even close to being worn. With many hot days and canyon driving.
I got the asymmetric 6 last week and it's an AWSOME tyre ! A lot more sporty than my older tyres(but they are much wider too because I got 18'' rims insted of 16'' so it's not a fair comparison :) ) In my country(Romania) they were a lot more cheapper than the Sport Contact 7 that I wanted(because of the sportyness) and the Michelin. I'm verry happy with it so far, braking improved a few meters and I can get in the corners at least 20km/h faster lol(but I still want a sportier suspension) :)) The only think I don't really love is the sidewall..., damn, those Michelins look fine ... :)
Michelin need to get on board this noise cancelling tech - for the longest time I’ve swapped out oe specific tires on my cars on delivery with the latest Michelins, but last couple cars coming with Conti silent and pz4 pncs oe tyres I’ve chosen to leave them on for the lower nvh
Mostly noise reducing tyres are in the SUV sizes as these vehicles are noisy af on normal tyres. With alzeihmers being linked to noise exposure it would be great if all manufacturers used foam bands etc to reduce noise. Lots of us live near roads and drive.
I have just ordered a set of "Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6", can't wait to try them. Question:- When you change tyres to a different brand/type should you always inflate them to the recommended pressure in the vehicle's handbook? Or will the ideal pressure be different for each tyre? I would have thought that the ideal pressure would be tyre specific, depending on the construction.
Hello, if you plan on doing some budget tyre testing, would you be able to get your hands on some Matador tyres? Specifically the MP47 Hectorra 3, which is a very budget friendly tyre I've heard good things about - they're Czech made tyres which might be an issue; i'm unsure if they get imported to the UK, though i've seen Barum rubber on some UK cars (and Continental has their HQ in Czechia, plus they own both Barum and Matador), my dad has two of those on the front of his volvo s60 - they handle decently for the price; some complain about them wearing quicker, but they handle good in the wet on the other hand.
Thanks for the review. Still waiting for the Micheline Crossclimate 2 vs Micheline X-Ice Snow review that was mentioned to be released months ago.... does Micheline has a problem with that??

Doesn't make sense to save $5 at the pump from gains in rolling resistance over the life of the tires if you're going to spend $5000 fixing your car after a frontal collision due to aquaplaning or failing to brake in time.
That is the way I'm thinking
Yes! Safety first... That's why I would actually pick the Michelin PS5 over its competitors. Better aquaplaning resistance. I once was in an aquaplaning incident as a passenger. Once in my life is enough.

I can add to that. Bought them for my Edition 35 GTI. Did some 5 laps on the Nürburgring with 3500km road trip and I can say that they are amazing. No need to heat them like the Supersport and have amazing grip in the rain
hows the road noise ?
Michelin Pilot Sports 4 is a superb tyre. But it is so soft that it is prone to sidewall and shoulder cuts and tread damage on our Indian roads.

Yep, they're great
I second that.

Appreciate the reviews. Would it ever be possible to do reviews on smaller tyres (14/15/16") for those who own older sporty vehicles? The tyre market is shrinking for these sizes and finding information on tires in these ranges is becoming harder everyday.
Good luck finding sporty 13"s. None.
I did test 16" a few years back... there's not much good left sadly. The Maxxis was the most sporty
What vehicle do you have and what market are you in? I might be able to do a small write up.

I'm excited to try it too! I wouldn't worry about aqua too much, but I'll guess we'll find out
Michelin, always 🇨🇵♥️
Picking up 4 new Michelin PS4S tyres this week. The runflats my M340i came with are terrible.
Oooo let me know how that goes :D
Great summary and superb content as usual 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Interesting you mentioned the primacy 4 vs the ePrimacy - I debated the e tyre but chose the standard one because it was a little cheaper, seems it. Wasn’t the wrong decision, do wish I could get the PS4 in a narrow 18 without having to sell a kidney!
Can't find a Michelin PS5 at any retailer in Dallas, TX. Almost Sept 2022
I'm not sure it's in the US yet
@@tyrereviews I think you are correct. I called a small Tire Store in Dallas and he has access to "one of the largest suppliers" (so he says) and he said this supplier does not have it anywhere in the U.S.
Check frm Johnson’s cars part….. Fb
They do import as well
As always very detailed and clear. Funny, not so much...😜
Hi, need to get tyres for Audi Allroad A6 C7 2013. What's the best bet for good grip, Low wear & low noise? Top 3 for UK roads & weather?
Michelin pretty cool check frm… Johnson’s cars part

The best looking tyre for me is still the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti+; at least in the very low profile sizes.
I love tires and I love this channel! Im so excited with the new Michelin PS5!!! Can't wait to fit them on my daily :)
LMK how you find them :D
Pirelli P Zero 4 Sport , best grip - go for it!
I’ve got Falcon avens is on my 435d, low profile 20’s and they wallow about dangerously that’s why I’m watching this to help me get some better
I really do want to do this, it's just... tricky! Working on it at the moment :)
@@tyrereviews Please do.
Can you do a review of the Michelin primacy 4+?
Any ideas on when you'll be able to get your hands on the Yoko Advan V107? At £200 cheaper for a full set as opposed to ps4s - I'm seriously considering!

I'm definitely looking for a summer tire since I run a dedicated winter set. I think michelin sport 4s is the tire for me. If I can't get that then continental extreme contact sport. Thankfully they make both of them in my size 255/35 R18
Don’t Forget to consider GY Eagle F1 Supersport 😉
@@fredericb6307 the retailer I'm getting my tires through doesn't carry that in my size unfortunately 😒
Assymetric 6 or PremiumContact 7 for daily Golf 7 Diesel? What do you recommend please?
Great review as always, keen to see an SUV specific review for ultra high performance tyres.
Using the Continental SportContact 7, incredible performance! realy transformed my car
How many miles?
Based on tests down here in Australia. The RE71RS’s is like 0.1 seconds faster than the Trofeo R. So they are similar. But that would make the Potenza Race much faster than the RE71RS. Seems like the Potenza Race is a Cup 2 R competitor
I understand your thinking... but then the longevity to way too good for a cup 2 r rival
The Asym 5 was probably the best wearing tyre in that category so you might havae to drive slower if you want more tread life ;)
First of I’m a huge fan and see or read all your reviews. Lol
Sorry for the long question. What do you suggest?
Pumped for the 958 Cayenne! The coolant pipes is a common failure
Glad you like them, get a review on www.tire-reviews.com/Tire/Continental/ExtremeContact-DWS-06-PLUS.htm :) I have them on my vehicle too
Another informative video, thank-you.
Supply will hopefully catchup with demand, however a runflat all season in that size is still sadly niche!
O wow! Pilot Sport 5 now has better wear? My Pilot Sport 4 have worn down so fast...
In which tyre ?
Odd, what did you use them for? Unless you are tracking them weekly, the Michelins usually last longer than any other tyre you can buy. It’s one of Michelins defining characteristic actually. Even with their CUP 2s
The PS4 wasn't great wear, below Conti and Goodyear. PS5 adds loads of wear so should be back at the top!
@@tyrereviews Dude, when you say "adds more wear" that means they wear out more. But you actually think the opposite. It is *very* confusing.
Excellent in-depth reviews, very professional!👍
Love the new studio! Also enjoyed the advert
Bias ;D
Good year A6 - I've have them thenks to You ;) great tires, happy that I bought them !
I'm sure they have it but only in certain sizes
Excellent question, that's exactly what I would like to know too.
I'll look into them :) There's probably some data on the site!
@@tyrereviews Please include Tigar/Taurus/Orium/Riken (same tyres, different brand).
Thanks for the review. Still waiting for the Micheline Crossclimate 2 vs Micheline X-Ice Snow review that was mentioned to be released months ago.... does Micheline has a problem with that??
Nope, I've just only done the snow part so far, need to do dry and wet!
@@tyrereviews Looking forward to see the comparison video of the Crossclimate 2 vs X-Ice Snow and... vs the Crossclimate 2 SUV in the future.
Just fitted some Michelin PS5's and so far so good. Sharp handling and good comfort. But forget all that, where is the Porsche print from in the background???
