The igloo dress is great garment for winter. The Storm Sweater looked lopsided but then you said you had been knitting on the sleeve. Knitting maths and I smiled because it works. So you went to buy new needles to carry with the Cami 9. I moan when I misplace needles or other knit related items. Yes you need a longer under arm area for the Snow Sweater. The pink item from the Vault is gorgeous.😊 The future cast on in that gorgeous red look... go on cast on this garment. I watched the podcast on my desk top and noticed that you live in a lovely area with no houses on top of one another. Take care ❤❤😊
Thank you so much Rosemary. Yes, I am very lucky with where I live. Right across the road from bush land. I agree on the Snow wonder - that is never going to be comfortable as it is. Thanks for the encouragement to cast on the Red Poppy tee. I think i might just do that next weekend. ;) xx
Sounds like you had a special celebration for your dad! ❤I used to love family game nights. I hope your family gets to have them more again! I’ll be watching your tutorials! I’d like to knit the Anker Tee in the future and would definitely like to add short rows!
Always impressed by how many projects you are juggling at one time. You may want to do the neckband on your sweater with the bobbles. It may bring the sweater up more, so your underarms become even tighter under the arm. Then you'll have a better feel for how many more rows you need to do to lower the arm scythe to a comfortable place.
Hi Tash. It’s always a bummer when you can’t find something that you know should be in a certain place and it’s not there !! You’ll find the needles when you’re looking for something else I expect. All of your projects are lovely thanks for sharing them with us. Looking forward to your tutorials on short rows. 🙋🏼🏴
Hi Tash, I am new to your channel. I love your content and have already watched past episodes. I finished my first half and half wrap last year. I had the same feelings you do. Just wait until you block it. O my it truly transforms into something special. Then you get the ahhh moment of why people are so in love. Loved hearing about your family. What a wonderful way to celebrate your Dad. 🥰
Your dress looks lovely on you!!!! I’ll bet it’s soft also. I’m working on an Ankers and added three short rows - one after each 10-row repeat and it looks great. For your zipper with the splitty linen, I watch a tutorial by Suzanne Bryan on putting in zippers and she suggested putting in a double-sided washy tape between the zipper and knitted fabric to keep the knitted fabric from stretching. Maybe it would also keep the needle from catching on loose plies…?
Thanks so much Jan. The dress is definitely very soft. Such a treat to wear. Thank you for the tip on a video from Suzanne Bryan. I will definitely check that out. That could help in more than one area. :)
Hello first time on your channel. Nice to see a fellow Sydneysider! I heard you mention the zip for the PetiteKnit bag and ordering from O/S. I am planning to do the Zipper Sweater and found Draper Fabrics in Newtown have the same design zips. You might want to check them out. Save you the cost as they are only $8.95 for a 35cm one.
Hi Tash, I am excited you are going to knit the poppy tee, as I have the pattern and yarn for that project. I just knit the maja tee by Camilla Vad, and totally messed up, but carried on anyways, if you ever are thinking of a good tutorial, it was double seed stitch, and I had trouble staying in pattern, as some was flat and some in the round, and I wasn’t sure if the increase were supposed to be part of the pattern, throwing it off a stitch. Anyways there are bands of all sorts of “ double moss “ , in my version, it was the shaping I wanted to push through and see if it worked, and it did. I guess I should investigate more with a swatch flat and in the round with increases and decreases. It is a similar shape to the other top you are going to cast on. Take care, Melissa. You get so much knitting done! And all beautiful!
Thanks so much Melissa. It sounds like you managed to make it work with the Maja Tee which is really important. We want things to look good but they dont need to be perfect to every single stitch. I know what you mean about increasing in pattern though. It can be a real struggle to keep it looking right.
Hey Tash! 🌷Love the dress! I must say you look fabulous in whatever you wear so that helps to "sell" a pattern 🤗 sorry about the snow wonder, but blocking can possibly change things who knows, it really may be worth trying! I always think it's the trickiest part in a top down to really know when to split for sleeves and how many stitches to cast on under arm. for me fit is really so important...so nice to hear of your time remembering your dad 💚 hope your busy weeks will also allow for nurturing times 🌷🌷🌷
I had such a giggle when you said your dress took 1200m, & it was quite a lot of knitting 😄 - that’s my sweater quantity😂. Your work is lovely & I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts - keep them coming, they are appreciated!❤
Your wardrobe is so interesting Tash, love all those knitted dresses. I’ve got a metal belt I sometimes wear as a necklace too, love having interesting pieces like that to play with. OMG what a ride you’ve had this week. Block that band out, pin it straight and let it know who the boss is! Snow wonder, isn’t it frustrating when your intuition whispers but you knit on regardless 🫤 Cami no9 when I do this next time, I think I might put a piece of yarn that doesn’t stretch the exact circumference that I want my arm hole to be, Like threading elastic through a waistband but without the stretch. Hope that makes sense? Not sure if it would work, but you could always reach in and remove it if need be. When my son and his fiancé come and visit we often play board games except we get carried away and stay up till 3am and I still wake at 5-5.30 feeling hungover 😱 Have a great week happy studying and have fun, Karen 🥰
Thanks so much Karen. I appreciate the advice on Cami #9. Could you still do that now with your Cami #9? I could totally get carried away playing board games - it is the rest of the family (including my children) that force me to be sensible. Good thing i have them looking after me. Well, actually, they are looking after themselves, but i benefit from their sensible choices.
@@mostlyknitting I can do that to my cami if needed (and will do if it stretches over time). Ha ha no one in our family is sensible when it comes to games 😬 and chatting too much. We can all be really silly and the hours fly….. it’s ok for the younger ones they sleep but I struggle with sleep and continue to wake early 🙄
Thanks for your always interesting podcasts. It's great that you talk about what hasn't worked out in your knitting and what you will do about it, as well as what has worked out. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference short rows make in the Ankers Tee pattern which which I've knitted as per Petite Knits pattern, no short rows. I'm watching your podcasts from NZ. I enjoyed my visit to the Skeinz Sisters shop in 2019.
A fully packed podcast this week. Looking forward to your tutorials. I hope you can button up your teacher experience next week among all your other responsibilities. See you in 2 weeks ❤
Thanks, Tash. Everything you knit looks so amazing on you. Bravo for creating such a beautiful wardrobe. Family game nights are the best! Have a great 2 weeks.
Your pod is so informative, I can’t wait to watch the short row tutorials. Also, I loved your dog’s tippy toes on the stairs, that made me laugh. I hope we get to meet him or her. (I am pretty new so maybe you have already done a dog introduction) I’ll keep working backwards, I’m into last year now. 😊
I'm looking forward to your advice on adding short rows to Anker. I'm working on that one right now and I wish I had short rows. Next time, with your help!
So glad I was recommended your podcast so I guess I will keep up and work backwards through past episodes at about the same time. That's a shame about the sweater/jumper armhole depth; will adding those extra rows throw off the bobble pattern? I have the same issue finding needles; I even check my Rav projects to see if they are on a project somewhere and still sometimes....no idea. I will be in Sydney in June for about 3 days with the family (coming from Florida on our summer holidays--we are also teachers, at college--coming with the teens--help!). I have Skein Sisters on my list, if I can work out how to get there with bus, etc. If there are any others that are "must sees" would you mind sharing? Good luck with the P/T conferences and treat yourself afterwards!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting Jessica. I will be fine with the bobbles as i will just keep doing that pattern at the same time. I hope you enjoy your time in Sydney and that you make it to Skein Sisters. There arent any other yarn stores in Sydney that I frequent so I couldnt give any recommendations there. Maybe others could. If you like beaches and scenery and walking, i highly recommend the Bondi - Bronte walk. :)
Hi Tash, pleased you’re enjoying the storm sweater, I’m just starting mine. Definitely rip the snow wonder back, it will be worth it. I’m in the middle of the Cecil shawl and think you should take a look at the pattern, I’m pretty sure you will like the design and it’s another that you just want to do “one more row” on 😂 Thanks for another great catch-up, see you in a fortnight. Sara
Hi Tash I have used gilliat and it did not grow when washed and blocked. I am a tight knitter so that may have something to do with it. I also just layed it flat and did not pin. Great episode.
Great Video love all your projects. Wondering have you ever knitted a pair of angora or cashmere socks. Have a family member wanting some for bed. Bed socks. Please advise
Hi Yvonne. I have never used angora or cashmere for socks except some cashmere in a blend. It sounds lovely. I imagine it wouldnt wear well but for bed socks, that sounds wonderful!
Would love to make the Charisma. I would love a video tutorial. Sorry about your dad. Family games bring back good memories to me also. My dad still shows up in my dreams and I always wake up feeling like we had a good visit.
Great to discover an Aussie knitter podcasting. Love your style and your work. Regards, Judy, Nelson Bay, NSW
Thanks so much Judy. :)

Tash, I love your Ingalls pullover ! It was a beautiful celebration for your dad. It's moving. Thanks so much for all the tutorials.
Thank you Chantal. Glad you are finding the tutorials helpful. :)

Thanks so much Jillian. That is a good point. It would be such a pain to rip it out and add more rows and then find it is still not enough...

So great! Most of the things on your tutorials have been questions in my mind when I watch your podcasts. So looking forward to them! Thanks!
Thanks so much Michelle. I am looking forward to getting back to making them. x

Thank you so much Debby. x

Hi there. I havent introduced him. I keep forgetting. I will make a note to do so next time. Thanks so much for watching. :)
I just made it to episode 31 and you do introduce him! 😂 I am loving watching you back catalog! Thanks!
I just started my gauge swatch for a Storm Baby sweater for my nephew’s new baby. It will be the first time I get to knit for a little!
Awesome. I am sure you will enjoy the pattern and making such a cute little sweater. :)

Thanks so much for the Cecil shawl suggestion. It’s beautiful! And looks like a fun knit. :)
Your knit dress is gorgeous!
Thank you so much. X
Hi Tash I have used gilliat and it did not grow when washed and blocked. I am a tight knitter so that may have something to do with it. I also just layed it flat and did not pin. Great episode.
Thanks so much for the tip Despina. I am expecting the same here. I have resigned myself to ripping - after doing the neckband.
I love that thought. A dream with my dad being a visit. I’ll definitely do a video tutorial on charisma. A very bare bones pattern.
Great information, the poof is very frustrating, I hope a viewer has a good tip to easily fix.
Me too! Or at least that steam blocking helps. :)
You'll probably find your 2mm needle right after you buy a new one 😊
Yes! You know it! ;)

Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hi janet. Thanks for watching and taking the time to say hi. :)
Please give us tips on the rowan pattern-I’ve had that in my queue but not started because the instructions were not as clear as I’m accustomed to.
No worries, Linda. I am just glad it is a free pattern so i can happily talk about it and any adjustments. :)
🙋🏼♀️👍
Thanks Gail. x
Your knitting portion is great….the chit chat about your life no interest
I’m so glad you enjoy the knitting portion. That’s why I keep the chat to the end. You can just stop watching at that point. :)
