The Storm Sweater looks so goid on you Tash. Bec's Sweater The Secret Garden is great well worth knitting. Then the hats my word you have knitted so many love the blue yarn you are using. The Snow Sweater is needing to be pulled back. The big knit you are on the home run such a beautiful knit the colours are wow. The Cami 9 is coming along no rush to wear it. More socks and you knitted so many already. It is a lot colder in CapeTown but not much rain yet 😊 I pulled down my cowl with the colour work to get the correct tension and it worked. Then I will be knitting a white cable hat for my twin sister.😊 My husband is attending a Men's Weekend held at the Church which is a stones throw from our home all of 243 metres. Happy Birthday and may the Lord Bless you in all you do ❤
Thank you so much Rosemary. Thank you for your thoughtful comments on my makes and for sharing what you are making. I hope you get some rain in Cape Town and that your husband enjoys his Men's Weekend. Blessings to you and your family. xx
Thanks Tash. Your a Storm sweater looks great. I'm glad you love it. Bec's Secret Garden sweater is gorgeous. I like your ideas for the Charisma sweater. I've had that one in my favorites.
Hi Tash! I agree, the last 6 rows of the Charisma ribbing (when you twisted on each row) look neater. They both look great but I could see a difference. Can’t wait to see the Charisma grow! I have knit a few Martin Storey patterns (I love his designs). For the last one I knit, the stepped bind off was so difficult to sew together that I ripped it out and did a 3 needle bind off. It looks great and was so easy. No more stepped bind-offs for me!☺️
Lovely job on the storm sweater. That blanket is stunning. Lot of knitting in that! Thanks for your insightful podcasts and your tutorials! Best part of my week
I have to put the storm sweater on my to knit list!! ❤Petiteknit patterns are so beautiful. I never knew “her” name before!! Thanks for sharing! Right now I’m knitting the Champagne Cardigan!! I’m using Noro Madara in color 1. It’s the first time I knit an Italian bind off!! I love it and I’m so happy that my multiple sclerosis brain was able to learn a new technique! Next is to learn how to double knit a button band!! 🙏 Praying my brain can learn that too🤪❤️. I will definitely use these new techniques again!! I try to pick patterns that will challenge me! I hope you have a blessed and very happy birthday on Monday!!!💐🎂🎈🎉🎁🥰
Thank you so much Catherine. It is great to learn new things. I know i am so proud of myself when i am willing to challenge myself. Glad you are enjoying your knitting challenges as well. xx
Your sweater is just gorgeous and suits you. Happy birthday for Monday 🎉 love your what’s caught your eye, I have had 2 of them in my favourites for ever lol ❤
Thank you so much for your videos💙 Your Storm sweater is lovely and you look great in it. And oh my! Bec's sweater turned out fabulous! All that work to figure out yardage to make the colors fit her vision really paid off. Really great.
I have heard of that Helen and I think seen it demonstrated a couple of times. It is very clever. I think i would have to use it if i made a sweater like the Alyssum. Thanks for the reminder.
Thank you, love your finished Storm sweater it looks so cosy. Happy birthday hope you had a lovely day and glad the extra school work is almost done and you can relax.x
Yay! I just got back home, and am having very very challenging days, prepared a salad, opened YT thinking what I would really need right now is a video from Tash....and you just posted 3 minutes ago!!!! will now watch 💚🌷
Thanks so much Barbara. I am so glad to have been a bright spot in your evening. I am sorry you are having a tough time at the moment. Thinking of you. x
Your sweater is so good Tash. Happy upcoming birthday, hit that 20% discount voucher 💪🏻🤭 I can see the twisted rib difference and it’s so odd the pattern has that. I would knit down afterwards- lazy is the smart way for me 😬 pulling through the back loops makes my hands groan. Thanks for the fun, Karen 🥰
Thank you so much Karen. It is odd the pattern has that - and it is from a big company and an established designer. Yeah, twisted purls really hurt my hands so i think i will do that. About to cast on now as an early birthday present to myself. Hope you have a lovely weekend. :)
Hi, I made a Petite Knit Cardigan. I'm a solid M (40" bust), was concerned about the ease so I made a small. It was HUGE. Frogged the whole thing and reknit it in small. It fits! Warning you there is lots of ease. Happy knitting.
Hello again! What a great podcast this week with so many interesting bits. May I ask as you love the musselburgh hat what made you also purchase oslo or make oslo too? I thought they were very similar in look am I missing something? I'd love any pros or cons to either or interesting facts thanks
Hi Lindsay. The Oslo definitely has a lot less knitting. It also uses a fingering weight and a mohair so that is a different look. They are different enough, with gauge and construction and time knitting that i think each one has its place. In terms of the end product, you are right. They look quite similar. Musselburgh is more auto pilot. Nothing happening between increases and decreases. So that is good. But it also takes a lot longer. Not necessarily a bad thing. But still a thing. I love that Oslo with mohair allows you to play with colour which is nice. :)
I LOVE my Ember cup! Everyone thought I was crazy for spending that kind of money on a "coffee cup", but as a mom (of triplets), I don't think I'd consumed an entire cup of coffee while it was still hot in a decade - always microwaving, as you were - and I thought - I deserve at least an entire cup of hot coffee every day. I think I got it on a Black Friday sale at least four years ago, and it still delivers a perfectly hot cup of coffee every single day. I figure I'm currently at a cost of $.05 a day and dropping. Worth it! Hope you love yours as much as I do mine.
I always enjoy your podcast, I learn something every time. My favorite part of this one was your discussion of the Charisma sweater, I liked hearing about all your thoughtful planning before you even cast on.
Happy birthday Tash!!! Hope you’ve had a great time celebrating! Bec’s jumper is gorgeous and I loved hearing about the detailed colour management! 😱 Your joy is so obvious about your storm sweater - it’s fantastic! I’ve been to the Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival this weekend. Never knitted a tea cosy before but it was a great excuse to take my daughter to a gorgeous part of South Gippsland, eat Devonshire Teas and relax in front of a fire knitting. I had hoped to finish my current jumper but still had some of the sleeves to finish…did I let that stop me from wearing it to the festival? Nope! One sleeve was kept together with a Barber cord and the other still had the needles hanging from it! 🤣 Hardly noticeable at all🤣❤️🧶 Thanks for another fabulous episode 😃
Thanks so much Susie. I love that you wore a partly done sweater. I have done that before when i have gone out somewhere and been cold. I just grabbed my wip out of my bag and put it on. Glad you had a fun weekend. x
Really enjoy your podcast and what you are up to especially like the tutorials, you are so clever at doing them and filming. Have a wonderful Happy Birthday with your family. See you next time ❤.
Happy belated birthday Tash! I did not get to finish the podcast the other day....🌷🌷🌷🌷Your storm sweater is gorgeous ! I have never been into these heavy textured classic oversized sweaters but after seeing this I am actually considering it! Yay that you started the Charisma! that was on my wishlist for a long time and when I heard you would be knitting it I bought the yarn, but I am not sure I am able to knit along now, especially because I am so much slower than you. So I will take advantage of your precious experience and advice. 🙏🌷🌷🌷
Love love your sweater.....it came out so amazing. you do such beautiful work. Thank you for another great podcast; love seeing your excitment and inspiration!
On my bucket list is to come to one of your classes at Skein Sisters, I live on the Gold Coast, so I'm not far away!!! Just finding the time and what I want to do in the meantime will carry on watching your podcasts.
Love your podcast! I love your sweater and it looks great on you. I tend to stay away from sweaters with so much texture as I would be knitting a much larger size. I may have it give it a try after seeing yours. Bed’s sweater is beautiful. I just finished the Half + Half shawl for my younger sister and the Sweet Shop baby blanket for my niece and I am now finishing up the Starflake shawl for my older syster. Next will be a sweater for myself. I always have socks on my needles as they are my favorites to knit.
Hi Jacqueline. Thanks so much for watching and sharing what you are working on. I am really keen to make the Sweet Shop blanket. It looks beautiful. Happy knitting! :)
Fabulous chatty vlog, Tash. Love your finished jumper, the pattern is going on my must makes list right away!! Hope you had a great birthday 🎁🎂💐. Ali xx😊
I am so excited to start my day with your video! ❤ I also really enjoyed making my storm sweater. I am so excited that you are almost done your experience teacher chore. Have a wonderful, productive week! ❤😊
Oh my goodness. So much to unpack from this episode. Love all of your makes and your plans. Great presents for your mother’s day and birthday too. Eric Bibb would be great to see and I love your tea heater 😂😂. I have a cafetière that is insulated so I can have about a pint of coffee which stays piping hot. Hope you had a lovely Birthday with lots of cake 🍰. By the way it’s 15degrees here so at last we’re beginning to warm up. 🙋🏼🏴
Hi Tash, I am so happy to hear that you are planning to do weekly podcasts again, I missed your podcast last week, but I enjoyed your tutorials 🙂. Funny, before watching this episode, I was talking to a friend of mine who is planning to knit a cardigan with half twisted rib and has never done such a rib before. I explained to her that on the wrong side the purls need to be purled twisted 🙂. I think the top half of your swatch looks much neater, even if it is a pain to do twisted purls. Such a thougthful gift from your husband, it is so lovely ☕. Happy Birthday on Monday 🌺.
The warming mug is such a great idea! Years ago, my brother gave me a little plug-in element to put my tea or coffee on, but then you can't walk around with it. You could with yours. So I've actually ended up liking cold coffee and tea. Probably because ice coffee or tea has become a thing around here, so I learned to like it. I've actually learned that cold coffee and tea has more flavour. I do still like it hot the best though. I love how excited you get about your knitting. It makes me smile every time I listen to you.
Love catching up with you. I laughed when you said it’s cold. 70 degrees here in Michigan is beach weather !! I love the finished sweater. It definitely gives winter cabin vibes.
Thanks so much Leyla. Yeah, i think growing up in Queensland means I get cold pretty easily. I spent time in Michigan in the summer in my 20s. I absolutely loved it. I did cherry harvest in Maple City. It was so pretty up there and the people so friendly and kind. Such a wonderful experience. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
Hello Tash, this is a bit off topic, however I’d love hear what games the family likes other than Ticket to Ride and the couple you have mentioned. Many thanks for another lovely chat. 🙋🏼♀️🇦🇺
Your Storm sweater is beautiful. Bec's sweater is amazing!! I love all your yarn choices. Have a great birthday. In Canada, that is Victoria Day, (holiday). Wonderful episode. Thank you.
Hi Tash and Happy Birthday for Monday! Your Storm Sweater is lovely and cosy looking. I think it’s great to have a jumper like that. I have one called the Hug Sweater by Rachel Illsley, which I love to snuggle up in. I’m afraid I’ve been an awful KAL buddy as I’m just finishing the bottom band and then I’m done. Of course, I’m a monogamous knitter, and the speed with which this came together has surprised me. I even knit three whole sleeves, because I wasn’t happy with how tight my first sleeve was, so I ripped it out entirely and started over. I thought it was just a me thing, so I was very interested to hear you weren’t happy with the sleeves either. I am interested to see what effect blocking will have, since I haven’t knit with Brooklyn Tweed Shelter before. I think you’ll love your Snow Wonder when it’s done. It would be gorgeous on the ski slopes ⛷️
Thank you so much Robbie. You are the good KAL'er. I am the one who has let the project sit for 2 weeks! ;) I am glad you are liking the sweater but I appreciate hearing you found the sleeves tight. I will watch out for that. I dont like tight sleeves. Looking forward to seeing your FO. :)
One of my WIPs at the moment is ridiculously complicated socks. I needed a break and cast on a mitred corner square blanket. It has been so refreshing to make a mindless colourful blanket that is using my scraps - only 8g per square. Love your channel. Keep doing what you’re doing, it inspires me!
Thank you so much. It is definitely nice to have something auto-pilot on the needles. I am not sure what I will do when i finish Half and Half. That has filled that spot for me for months now. Thank you for the lovely comments. :)
Thanks for a packed knitting agenda Tash. Happy Birthday for Monday. Your husband’s extremely thoughtful and personal gift of the cup is great and I will investigate purchasing one for my husband based on your recommendation. We live off grid in Tasmania and it is about 5° here in the mornings so our tea gets cool pretty quickly. Thank you very much. Your new jumper looks beautiful on you, very casually chic. It looks like apres ski perfection! I have liked all your recommendations which look fantastic on your body shape and I am loving the detail you include about your projects which are so helpful. I am knitting a beanie for myself from some Fibre Lily DK merino and cast on 96 stitches in 2x2 rib all the way until the decreases begin on size 3.5mm needles graduating up to 4.5mm. I started yesterday and will finish it today (hopefully). I’m very grateful for your recommendations, it’s great to see what other people are looking at and planning. 🧶⭐️
I wonder what you think of doing the last section (diagonals) of the storm sweater with a smaller needle. After doing a striped sweater (each stripe a different yarn) with a boucle at the hips, I’m averse to a bulge in that area. It does look lovely and cozy on you. My brother and I were just discussing the pitfalls of having birthdays close together, May 14 &15. Mom would alternate, one of us would get pie, the other cake. Happy Birthday and yay to cake!!
Thank you Hilda. You come up some great suggestions. I am going to mention that on the podcast next week! Because the gauge is definitely different for different sections and that is one of the "wider" ones. Thanks again. :)
Happy Birthday! Your Storm sweater turned out so good! I love the oversized look on you, including the shoulders. I just finished Petiteknit's Ingrid sweater. This one has "only" 8 inches of positive ease but still really nice and oversized. This was my first textured piece with charts. I was so nervous about messing up on the flat knit part but it was so much fun and I absolutely love the sweater. Storm is up next for a textured sweater. If only I had 8 hands... How do you like the Peer Gynt fabric after blocking? While watching I was working on my cardigan No.9 by My Favourite Things Knitwear. I am using an aran weight merino/cashmere/angora yarn from Colourmart in a very dark mossy green. Too bad we are heading into summer over here in Vancouver, Canada 😁
Thank you so much Ursula. I am liking the Peer Gynt now. I wouldnt make a scarf out of it but it is really great for this kind of sweater. I think it suits the design really well and feels nice. I am not super sensitive though so others might find it a bit rough. But i dont find it itchy or irritating at all. :)
I love your Storm sweater! I am currently knitting the Storm baby. I’ve never done a folded neckline before and I’m a bit worried that it will be difficult to make sure that it is lined up properly when I go to knit it down. If you have any tips or tricks for that, I would love to know! ❤
I know what you mean. When i did it, i made sure i was following the knit/purl column down so that everything matched up. That made it a lot easier. :)
Congratulations on finishing your Storm Sweater - it is lovely! I'm really enjoying your podcast but am a fairly new viewer to your channel - do you mind me asking, I was wondering who 'Bec' is - you showed her jumper and talked about what she was knitting but I felt like I had missed something? 🤣
Thank you so much! I'm sorry. Bec is my beautiful friend who is also a keen knitter and has joined me on the podcast afew times. We dont live in the same state so we record together whenever we catch up. Here are our episodes together. ruclips.net/video/IVbOqiSlvDI/видео.htmlsi=OagoysYOSnVAJ44R - 1st ruclips.net/video/tAiMlwPar3s/видео.htmlsi=W-j7u8rrHFdu8AzC - Bendigo 1 ruclips.net/video/KDwPayCFI1Q/видео.htmlsi=zg8Fy9J0bfDh2yG5 - Bendigo 2 ruclips.net/video/Ly809bfP2JA/видео.htmlsi=UPZuCKooa22TwkFj - most recent
Hi Tash! Your Storm sweater looks great. I made the Ingrid sweater and was frustrated that some of the sections pulled in a lot more than others. I had to block it with pins to try to even things out. Your sweater doesn't look like it has that problem. Did you have to do anything special to even things out? I love your podcast and appreciate all of your great tips. Happy Birthday!
Thank you so much Karine. I know what you mean. I actually didnt do anything special when blocking except an extra block on the sides by rotating 90 degrees and steam blocking out the poof above the ribbing. Perhaps these sections dont differ as much as the ones on the Ingrid. I think blocking with pins is a sensible approach. Just to pull it out enough to come closer to matching. Thanks again for the locely comments and birthday wishes. :)
Hi Shirley - if I knit the sweater again, I will definitely do a tutorial on it. That may be a little while away though. Hopefully you are able to get some help from Petite Knit in the meantime.
I cast on my storm sweater with 104 stitches for size small, I follow the pattern for back yoke from row 1 to 4, work rows 1-4 once, then work rows 3 and 4 another 5 times. Pattern said there are 22 stitches left on the needle but mine have only 18 stitches left on each end. Could you please help me! Thank you!
Hi Shirley. I'm afraid without seeing how you knit those rows, i couldn't diagnose the issue. Perhaps the issue came with the turning stitch? Perhaps reaching out to Petite Knit might be beneficial. They may have come across this issue before and be able explain what you need to do differently. Good luck!
That’s very my hubby’s sweater but looks better on me style :). It looks cosy stylish on you don’t overthink the sloppy shoulders. It’s not the style of the jumper. It’s perfect
Thanks Tash. Your a Storm sweater looks great. I'm glad you love it. Bec's Secret Garden sweater is gorgeous. I like your ideas for the Charisma sweater. I've had that one in my favorites.
Thanks so much Denise. :)
Your Storm sweater look great on you. The Charisma is now in my queue so I will be following your progress with interest.
Thank you so much! 😊
Hi Tash! I agree, the last 6 rows of the Charisma ribbing (when you twisted on each row) look neater. They both look great but I could see a difference. Can’t wait to see the Charisma grow! Thanks so much Elizabeth. I agree - stepped bind offs are awful to seam together. I think it would be especially challenging in this yarn.
Lovely job on the storm sweater. That blanket is stunning. Lot of knitting in that! Thanks for your insightful podcasts and your tutorials! Best part of my week
Thank you so much Michelle. x
Thank you for another lovely episode! I just cast on my first skimmer socks because I love all the ones, you've made 😍
You are so welcome! I hope you enjoy the skimer socks. I find them great to make and excellent to wear. :)

Fun episode. I've added the Milky Way Shirt pattern to my Ravelry favorites. Your storm sweater looks great!
Thank you so much!! :)
Thank you so much for your videos💙
Your Storm sweater is lovely and you look great in it. And oh my! Bec's sweater turned out fabulous! All that work to figure out yardage to make the colors fit her vision really paid off. Really great.
Thanks so much Kristen. I agree. Bec's sweater was definitely worth the effort with all the yarn management. :)
Have you considered using Ladder Back Jackard technique for long floats in colour work?
I have heard of that Helen and I think seen it demonstrated a couple of times. It is very clever. I think i would have to use it if i made a sweater like the Alyssum. Thanks for the reminder.
Thank you, love your finished Storm sweater it looks so cosy. Happy birthday hope you had a lovely day and glad the extra school work is almost done and you can relax.x

I always enjoy your podcast, I learn something every time. My favorite part of this one was your discussion of the Charisma sweater, I liked hearing about all your thoughtful planning before you even cast on.

I love it! :)
I have seen Eric Bibb in Germany a few years ago and it was one of our best concerts. I hope you liked it.😂
I did very much. He has an amazing voice and I love his style of music. :)
I really like the sweater you are wearing. Lovely on you. I also love that mug! Great gift.

My fave! What a video to watch with my morning coffee. Thanks!
You're welcome! Thanks so much for your lovely comments. :)
Thank you so much. It makes me smiling reading your lovley comment. :)
I love your Storm Sweater and Bec sweater is very beautiful. Thanks for the video !
You are so welcome Chantal! :)
Oh wow Tash the jumper turned out lovely. It looks stunning on you as well. It’s definitely knitting weather now as it’s been quite cold here.
Thanks so much 😊
Love catching up with you.
And Becs sweater!!! Holy cow that is gorgeous! ❤
It's amazing! I cant wait to see it in person.
Hello Tash, this is a bit off topic, however I’d love hear what games the family likes other than Ticket to Ride and the couple you have mentioned. Many thanks for another lovely chat. 🙋🏼♀️🇦🇺
Thanks Gail. I'll be happy to mention the games we enjoy in the next podcast. :)
Thank you so much for sharing the joy that your projects bring you !❤❤❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching! xxx
Your Storm sweater is beautiful. Bec's sweater is amazing!! I love all your yarn choices. Have a great birthday. In Canada, that is Victoria Day, (holiday). Wonderful episode. Thank you.
Thank you so much Joan! :)
Happy Birthday for Monday ! Lovely to see you back again :))
Thank you so much!! 😊
Thank you so much Christine. Beanies are such awesome knits. Hope you are staying warm in Tasmania. I have never been but really hope to soon. xx
Thank you for all the inspiration!
You are so welcome Christianne. :)
Happy birthday Tash❤
Thank you so much. xx
Another fabulous podcast!
Thanks so much Lisa! :)
You’re the best ! Tell Bec that her sweater is beautiful so is yours . have a great birthday Monday
Thank you so much Micheline! I'll let Bec know. It is amazing.

I also have shoulders that slope so I buy shoulder pads and that solves my problem. They attach under my bra straps.
That is a good idea. I wouldnt want to wear them all the time but when i do, it would be handy to have them. :)
What is Experience Teacher and why did you do it? Congratulations on nearly completing it.
Thanks Paula. It is a process to move to the next stage in the Teaching profession in NSW and it comes with a 20% pay rise...
@@mostlyknitting Thank you, Tash!
Could you please have a tutorial on the storm sweater! Thank you very much!
Hi Shirley - if I knit the sweater again, I will definitely do a tutorial on it. That may be a little while away though. Hopefully you are able to get some help from Petite Knit in the meantime.
I love you so much. You always reply to my message. Thanks!
Slopey shoulders blasted spellcheck ,lol.
Thank you so much Sharon. x
How are you liking the KFO cotton merino? Wanting to make a ranunculus or other summer top. Nice drape?
I love, love, love it! I made it for my Pi camisole and it knits, feels and wears beautifully!
Thank you. I will definitely be ordering some!
