Nice review. It will be good in future to highlight the kind of diff lock (Centre, rear or front) in future 4x4 reviews as they have different capabilities.
Excellent review Ibrah and the team. Imeshika kushika, undoubtedly the best so far, kwanza hiyo intro... si next utuletee review ya Ford Ranger Raptor...
just a heads up for when you go offroad with a 4wd. It is common practice to use the proper tyres but one has to reduce the tyre pressure also. Depending on the terrain, you will have to go as low as 15-20 psi. Not only does it make the ride much smoother, but it also increases the surface area in which the tyre will be in contact with the ground. This lengthening of the tyre footprint improves traction. When you come to tricky areas engage the low gear and if that isn't enough you will use the differential locks. Hopefully when you take a capable vehicle off road again you can use these tips and us viewers can appreciate how impressive they are. Good luck
@CARNVERSATIONS 😂😂 Okay. For me, the new MUX looks better than the Fortuner. 2. The third row of the MUX stays flat in the boot area when not in use, unlike those of the Fortuner which stays on the sides. 3. I love the diesel sound of the reliable 3.0 litre engine in the MUX, and you get more efficiency if you go for the 1.9 litre option. 4. The interior of the MUX feels more spacious (especially due to the fact that you can carry adults comfortably in the 3rd row) and more modern. 5. MUX has a rough terrain mode button that does wonders offroad. I find that easier to use compared to diff locks (which it also has), especially if you have an inexperienced 4×4 driver or your wife on the wheel. 6. Finally, I am one of those who believe in Isuzu reliability. If you have seen those cream lorries running around collecting garbage and carrying sand in ushago, we must be together in that belief 😂😂😂
But 2GD FTV engine in this Fortuner has 2400CC while 1GD FTV Engine has 2800 CC better buy Fortuner with 1GD FTV since it has more power and high torque.😊
Inafanya nithink twice about getting a nissan patrol..its not baaad😅. Alafu Ibra i called the office nikaambiwa utacall back..sai tuko 2 weeks later...anyway, tuletee Patrol kwa Carnisa
This fortuner is underwhelming in so many ways. The 0-100kph is disappointing. The 2.4L engine fuel economy is also disappointing, am supposing probably because this is an automatic. The fortuner pride comes from sharing platform with the hilux. I wonder what makes the engineers at Toyota shy to extend that pride all through albeit with better comfort. I propose that the DC hilux would be a better choice with: 1. Better value for money and reliability, priced below the 7M for used import and probably 1M lower than locally assembled. 2. Better off road capability. You would have gotten a better experience on fortuner too with about 28psi on that rough road. 3. Engine options. Hilux would accord the legendary 1GD-FTV engine 2.8L with 500nm. Throw in a manual option and you are in the territory of fuel economy of the 2.4L diesel for 100nm more. Did I mention that for someone who knows how to shift, you would be looking at sub-10 in not to 100kph? Look at the figures for SR5 and Rogue. 4. Practicality means having a decent load. The backie in DC hilux allows decent load that plants you squarely on the road and you would be smiling at prado drivers on corners 5. Hill descent is no deal breaker when you have cruise control and 6 speed manual. Steep descents you are sorted by manual and moderate inclines you are equally good. Unless a seven seater is a do or die scenario, I can't imagine any other reason that would make a serious driver to pick the fortuner.
For the same price, am buying this mapema Sana no reason to think about it because I get I bit more in terms of adventure compared to the Alphard which can only be used for on-road application
I'm not happy at all because you intentionally avoided to mention my car Pajero Sport in this category. I feel pajero sport, fortuner & Mux are the beasts in this category while Terra & Everest comes a distant second. Bring the pajero sport here... what say you? 😂
No disrespect to the other guy, but this guy's delivery and presenting is better - a real natural! But how do you talk about Prado not being quite stable when you are standing next to a Hilux, the KING OF INSTABILITY 🤣also those side folding third row seats are not a good thing, they are a relic from the 90s and totally unacceptable for a 2019 car - those things are an embarrassment - far worse that the TFT LCD screen. All the other competitors in this segment have rear seats that fold into the floor.
😅This is how I get you, that you would just want something called Landcruiser. As for Ibra, he says both have the same capability. In other words, Fortuner is a low budget "landcruiser"
From my observation the Fortuner is even better than a TX. This vehicle is a Gem.
