One thing I have found critical is adjusting the gas valve to re-check with a monometer manifold pressure. As "Murphy Law" would have it, the one year I tried to save money ( high oil prices) I dont have a service contract, I am having an issue with the boiler. I have a Peerless burner. Label model lists "EC 03-06" but I dont know which specific model I have. Currently the PSI level is 2 lines past the 10 mark. The VXT water feeder reads 37.8. With that said my issue is the sight glass is full. At the back of the boiler is where (in the past) i was instructed to drain to remove dirty water. Thus far Ive removed about 3 buckets of water. Not only has the water level in the glass not gone down but after the removal of water, the automatic water feeder kicks in ( to add more water?). Ive turned down the thermostat for 24 hours to avoid the burner running in hopes Id see the water level in the sight glass drop; no such luck. Now I'm terrified if the burner kicks on I am going to have huge problems 😢
