Thank you for being so thorough in your explanations in all of your videos. I have learned a lot by watching your videos the past few months. It's a breath of fresh air watching a mechanic calmly explain the anatomy of things and how systems operate!
Very good lesson, how a steam boiler works
Perfect video
I’m a huge fan of steam heat, Mike. Wondering your thoughts vs other heating. Great channel and happy Chanukah.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah guys ! I'm learning a lot right alongside of you Peter !You're doing a great job ! I worked for several years in apartment maintenance and I love to learn about the trades. I'm out of work because of a disability. Keep your fingers crossed that it's not permanent.

The last time I got shit face, I was on my face and everyone had to look at it until all the scabs fell off. That was a long time ago in my younger days. Great Video!!

Fieldpiece is nice for refrigeration / AC. But I absolutely agree with you. I've had the Testo, and I liked it. But I love the Bacharach.

Hey Mikey I grew up with steam and those radiators stayed hot for hours.
Now I have forced hot water baseboard.
I wish I had the radiators my father had were like oval shaped and were really decorative.
Made the house piping hot.
You're not the wife likes to put all the furniture in front of the baseboards too 🤠
Almost ready to get the hell out of this place and have my weekend
God bless man
That was wierd the valve was off and it still filled the boiler merry Christmas love u guys😊😊😊😊😊
You deserve 11 million subscribers as well as views
Mikey i respect you very much due to your knowledge and the way you take pride in doing the job correctly. I just wanted to say, if you're referring to the cat analyzer, CAT85 - Combustion Analyzer HC , fieldpiece says that it Accurately measure O2, CO, CO2, draft pressure. Could be wrong as i haven't used the tool myself but it says it measures it. Always appreciate your videos, keep up the good work boss! Happy hollidays to you and all your guys!
34:02 Water Heater goes BAMMMMMMMMMMM. Well- your replacing it now!!!!!!!!!!!! Or we can plug the tear and you can wait for it to blow when we aren't here? Then call us and my brother (the Service Pro Rep) can come also.
The words u are Looking for mike are, "efficient operation".
Mike I wish u were in Chicago
I like your videos you are extremely helpful. Do you hire plumbing helpers to learn?
Good luck
It does co2. I beta tested the unit and also have the 85. As with almost all analyzers, it has a o2 sensor and co sensor. The co2 number is a calculation off the 02 sensor. Happy holiday to you and your family
liked a lot
Sediment popping like popcorn 😂
Mike how did you know it was the expansion tank that caused the leak from the relief valve on the water heater?
it was feeding water from the water heater, thats why it was making that sound
4 degrees in Rockyface Ga.
It filled due to the pressure inside the water heater tank and the tank hot outlet has pressure from the vertical pipe going through the house. So when the feeder called it just took the 60 psi from the domestic/hot water tank and pushed it into the steam boiler that is at a much lower pressure.
Great🔥
Mikey, Inspection due this week
Rocking🔥
Mikey the hot water tank must have back feed it that's what all the gurgling was it was pushing water back through the cold water line.
I know one of these days , maybe in 2023 your gonna pull apart and show us how you clean a pilot . Happy holidays !!
1 no video
We have a field piece in the company and it does co2
Good ♥️
Oh oh mike is waiting
Happy Holidays, to my knowledge on most combustion analyzers. CO2 is a calculation off of O2, not an actual sensor. It is why in the days of the old red fluid (for oil), you had to make sure you were on the wright side of the scale with our CO2 since with very high or very low 02 you can have the same CO2. O2 is a much better reading to go with along with CO. Most manufactures that give you a CO2 number to look for also will give you an O2. A package boiler like you are working on here is a 6 to 9% O2, the manufacture must make sure it is not capable of a stable over 400 ppm "Air Free, if you contact Burnham about the Independence 400 ppm is the only number they will give you. Yes, I know industry practices go from 200 ppm down to 50 ppm as allowable (stable) "Air Free". Burnham will also give you an O2 range on the Independence, though neither number is in the manual, just gas pressure readings. Does not matter the efficiency, while the numbers change by level of efficacy of CO and 02 the manufacturer wants to see, it is the O2 and CO numbers that come in to play the most on gas fired equipment.
50 mph winds and -12F here in Minnesota right now.
yup here in mpls bro i got cust with froz pipes in huch down so by u i sez no way i wood driv that far 2 day even at 200.00bucks a hr

Five towns need you right now .. I can’t believe all the flooding ..
@@PipeDoctor yes it was . A lot of homes I get flooded especially the ones off yes or Expressway that leads into Jamaica bay
Good job peter u r coming alone with your knowledge. U did better than me even with my infinite YT wisdom. lol
I love the sighs
Haha, I'm glad my sighs are bringing you joy! Maybe I should start a RUclips channel dedicated solely to sighs.
Kroil did a nice job on the boiler 👍👍. Best stuff on Earth!
But that water heater is ready to blow 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
thumbs up
Cage match for the job. Peter Vs. Tony
The fieldpiece cat85 combustion analyzer it does have c02 readings you can check out hvac tech tips youtube video he has one but i still love my testo 320lx Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah
Not better than the new fieldpiece imo check it out I think you will be very impressed! They did right this time. 2 models the one with hydro cycle is best and sensor vault technology
Not bad
How do you get your branding on the Tstat? Is that a sticker or do you get that from Emerson?
its imprinted
Is that something you get through Ferguson? I'm trying to be better with my branding and that seems like a great way to do it. Thanks for all the great videos!@@PipeDoctor
On repeat
Like it
i have had that noice in a water heater, you need to pop a sink or shower and it goes away.
I think air prevents heater from filling up so it boils the water.
Or in this case turn the water back on to the water heater. Then no more bang bang !
Hi Mike, you got people that work Queens?
Yes
A good flood wouldn’t be so bad. Needs a good cleaning down there.
1st seat
Mikey Pipes on the job again. If I keep watching you I’ll have to switch over to HVAC. Love plumbing but HVAC is growing on me.

Great vid! I'm a newbie tech of 6 months looking to open my own biz in a year or so. Can you do some videos on the basic parts you always carry which solves a large percentage of your service calls, what van you think is best, Ford Transit Connect, Ram Promaster city etc? Do you get paid half up front rest upon completion or all upon completion or do you bill your customers? My father said that good stock supply and biz information is just as important as on the job technical knowledge. Thanks!!
My friend focus on perfecting your craft in the industry (which you will not get in a years experience) before considering opening up your own company. If you’re asking the questions on what parts to carry in your truck for common issues found in the plumbing and hvac business then you are a far ways away from running a SUCCESSFUL business. Not to deter you from your ambitions but be realistic and build skill before you start putting your name on something you can feel confident owning

💯💯💯💯💥💥💥💥💥
Co2 needs to be tested with oil also.
I’ll open up if you have an emergency!

Yes water. I add Alka-Seltzer to my water .
Hello, Peter. Start with power when thinking about the sequence of operation. When the boiler power switch is ON, you are energizing the transformer, which allows the 24VAC power to go to the thermostat, which can send a W1 call to the boiler. If the safeties are all closed and the boiler temp control allows it, the ignition control will ignite the flame by opening the gas valve and providing a spark or hot surface and look for flame proving (unless there is a standing pilot flame like you have in this case) and the boiler begins heating. The circulator pump control can energize the circulator for a call for that zone, and you are off to the races.
My boss aint gonna be happy about this when i demand my $4 an hour raise on tuesday
Don’t demand, tell him that you are going to prove that you are worth $4 more by make him $8 more an hour
im just gonna ask for the $96 i deserve, $92 aint cutting no more sinse mikey taught me boilers
I want 7 more!
@@khw71471 and thats an understatement
The boiler was filled from the WH which was at 149 psi and 210 f. Plus the expansion tank helped. That WH is a thermo device with the fuse lit. Run Pull all your stickers down and erase the vid. Hurry!!
What about the Chimney stack? Has anybody verified that it was drawing properly?
yeah, its called a combustion AND draft analysis. Do you have a combustion analyzer?
