  • Bennett Cerf pays a rare tribute to his nemesis, and I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment! Would love to see/hear some examples of Mr. Daly's other role as broadcast journalist.

Bennett and John were great friends. They like to exchange zingers at each other's expense, but they were on the best of terms.

Check out Daly's role in the movie version of 'Bye Bye Byrdie' and in the opening episode of 'Green Acres,' if you really want to see him as a mock-newsman. Unfortunately there isn't much of him as an actual newsman, but he always looked ten years older than he was, so he seemed to have a lot of history.

This is clearly made up by Bennet Cerf. Guy had a bromance going on with Daly.

Found Daly to be genuine and delightful but Cerf to be pretentious.
