"ADOPTION" is such a nice word, but doesn't sound apt for the context. I'd have replaced it with "POLITICAL HOSTAGE".

@@sangs19S I would recommend you to please read about the British annexation of the kingdom of Coorg. Maybe that would make things clear for you. In the position that her father was forced into I doubt he had any power to do anything regarding his daughter or his kingdom.

@who are you Is religion about spiritual experience or is it about having an ideology whether there is one God , one God with a son or many gods? U know the answer.
Being atheist is not believing in any supernatural being who is perceived as creator of all... correct?
Welcome again... Hinduism has one such branch too...u may not believe in anyone still u won't be criticized for not a religious Hindu.
Btw...being atheist is punishable by death in some monotheistic religions along with apostosy, LGBTQ+ etc.
Brother/sister I am not promoting any religion but celebrating religious conversion on the belief that only my truth is the only truth is not logical moral and humane.
We all are blinds.we meet an elephant and touch it in different parts to know about it. Rather than blaming the British for her misfortunes. He father was the reason behind all this.
He not only destroyed his daughter life but the like of the whole kingdom too. He gained power by illegal means, used his crooked mind enough to screw his subjects. When Tippu kidnapped coorgies and converted them, this man was happily signing treaties with British. When the were sent back home he humiliated and out-casted them.
When left to England with his daughter his other children and wives were left in Varanasi in a poor state. But the queen mothers some how managed to get their daughters married off to telugu zamindaris. The state of Coorg was looted by the British until they left India.

Not only did they annex kingdoms, but going to the extent of obliterating all traces of the royal family by, of all means, bringing them into their own backyard and morphing them into an alien culture. I truly wonder what the Raja was expecting (or promised), that persuaded him to bequeath his own little daughter to the British monarchy.

@@bullymaguire290 Excuses me sir Christinity is no white man's Religion . Out of the five main ecclesiastical centres of Christianity 4 lie in the middle East antioch ,Alexandria, nicaea Jerusalem and Constantinople . Ok
Also Africa was predominantly Christian before Islamic invasion ( at least for west Africa it's the truth) . Nubians aka modern days Sudanese . Nubia consisted of the three kingdoms of Noubadia, Makuria, and Alwa when Byzantine missionaries converted it to Christianity just before 600 AD . Coptic Christians, known as Copts, are the largest ethno-religious minority in Egypt, constituting roughly 10 per cent of the country's 95 million people they have kept the origin language alive in their liturgy unlike the Muslims who destroyed it and replace it with Arabic . Syriac Christianity Started in the 1st century AD , Christianity in Lebanon is almost as old as gentile Christian faith itself,The earliest indisputable tradition of Christianity in Lebanon can be traced back to Saint Maron in the 4th century. what is now Mediterranean Algeria was fully Christian by the fifth century. A notable black Berber Christian of Algeria was Saint Augustine (and his mother Saint Monica), important saints of Roman Catholicism . So you see Christinity isn't wasn't will never be "white mans faith " . Catholic itself mean Universal not binding to any race or ethnicity .

Which means complete ban from India and her own family. This is just not good. And then she died at the age of 23 because of all the loneliness depression and bad health. Its her fathers fault to send her to London. You should never cchange your religion. Never.

I think arabs and muslims in general have unity. Their basic difference comes in theology. But we Hindus are divided on caste lines. The reason for more conversions is we Hindus who lack solidarity and brotherhood cutting across caste/region/language. This may be the reason we get easily influenced by outsiders.

This is how India was colonialised by East India Company then turned the country to Britain. Yet till today India still love the connections to Britain. When India gained Independence when Britain found it rather impossible to maintain the colony after the war, the boundary was drawn up hastily between India and Pakistan causing much bloodshed between Indians. Go watch Johnny Harris video about this border in detail.
