He brought in 3 top talents at positions that had a need. The rest was pre built by Gruden and Mayock. The title of "NFL's Biggest Snake" could go to a number of people: Bobby Petrino, Urban Meyer, Adam Gase, Roger Goodell, Jerry Jones, Mike Patricia, Bill O'Brien and obviously Josh McDaniels are on the short list.
Lane Kiffen certainly deserves some mention in the Greatest Snake discussion, as does Urban Meyer. The top comment as of the time I’m writing this mentions Petrino, and he pretty much defines the word snake, but there are certainly others that are quite scaly.
As a pats fan, part of me wants to see him succeed, part of me wonders why he couldn't just wait a couple more years till Bill retires. He would get the gig. HC's get forgive a shitty first crack at it(Dungy, Belichek, on and on). But he used that one up in Denver. Now he's getting killed in Denver. Not winning AND not being likeable is a bad combo. And maybe now the Pats are seeing that he can't run a team. Once he's fired, he'll be a lifelong OC. And that's a fine thing. Making at least a million, less pressure than the HC. You just have to settle for something less than being 'the man'. My ego and bank account could handle OC for life, I know that much.
Consipracy theory: McDaniels backed out of Indy to get revenge on the Eagles. Think about it: the Eagles haven't been the same since Frank Reich got hired. Had McDaniels not bailed, Reich stays in Philly and the Eagles win it all again next season.

Raiders fan since the 70’s here. When word was out this guy was about to coach the Raiders I cringed. As a proud military veteran from Ft.Bragg NC, I’ve had the honor of being mentored by Leaders of men. McDaniels is not a leader of men, far from it. You can hear it in his voice, the way he speaks. He has a nervous demeanor because he does players dirty and has ill intentions with his decision making. He hides his nose in a “complicated” playbook that only he seems to understand. I’ll celebrate when this guy finally takes off the Raiders hat and walks out of Nevada. Players don’t want to play for this guy, the energy he brings or rather lack there of will never ignite nothing more than mediocre results, if that. His departure from Raider Nation cannot come soon enough.
As a lifetime broncos fan who believes McDaniels gutted the broncos during the time period and set us back years, he was also really young and immature. If he has matured, he has all the makings of a great coach. Energetic, knowledgeable, and loves to feature his stars (davante will be massive this year). Has he grown up? Who knows, but we'll find out. Just make sure someone gets veto power over him on personel decisions and then even if McDaniels does flame out, he can't do too much lasting damage. Every team in the AFC West is stacked this year. Should be a fun one.
Actually, that's why the Raiders hired Dave Ziegler as a GM. He is the one who is taking care of personnel decisions and is someone that McDaniels already worked alongside.
I don't think Davante is going to have a great year. He is a monster of a WR but hes also had Aaron Rodgers as his QB his entire professional career to this point. Going from Rodgers to Carr is an insane downgrade. I hope I'm wrong because I wish nothing but a great career for Adam's but I dont think Carr is a lasting starter in Vegas.

I am very curious to watch the Las Vegas Raiders this year. Honestly looking forward to it
Raiders fans say that before every season lol
@@hamsandwich3989 Not ALL of them lol. Dallas does that MUCH more
@@hamsandwich3989 yeah, but usually we're just curious exactly how they'll manage to shit the bed this time, and how long it will take them to rack up eight or ten losses and be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
It's possible next year could be different than the last couple decades. It sure can't get much worse... keep in mind, the Raiders finally managed to get back into the playoffs last year, even after some mind-boggling off-field insanity.
Just remember when Bill Belichick was young he failed as a head coach in Cleveland, he backed out of the Jets head coaching after one day. Sounds a lot like Josh McDaniels.
He won their only playoff game over a few decades and the defense he started went on to win in 00 as the rebranded Ravens as probably the greatest defense ever. He did a lot more for the Browns/Ravens than McDaniels ever did for the Broncos.
I strongly agree with your case and point. But what really kills it for me, is that you don’t have the makings of a varsity athlete, Tone.
@@geordiejones5618 McD was instrumental in us getting to the 2013 SB instead of being stuck with good Jay/Bad Jay every other week and instead getting Tebow time, DT/ED/..... McD did a lot of good for the Broncos the total sum was just bad.
Love your work man!
This video aged absolutely beautifully
The late great John "The Professor" Clayton referred to McDaniels as "Josh-ie Boy".
I think we can say that McDaniels screwing over Indy worked out well for everyone in the end. The Colts have a great head coach, the Patriots won another super bowl and drafted a good QB, and McDaniels pocketed a couple million more dollars before taking off for a Vegas superteam
I agree with every point but I don’t know if I would call Vegas a super team
Vegas superteam.
yeah no.
Derek Carr + Davante Adams wins 10 games max in that division.
did luck leave the same year?
Colts have a great coach when he's not OBSSESSED with resurrecting fallen QBs and ...JUST RUN THE FUCKING FOOTBALL. Jonathan Taylor and Marlon Mack was the best RB duo with a great O line.... but too busy trying to make Carson Wentz what he was in 2017
He's walking into a rare situation. It's not often a head coach is coming into a team that's already a playoff team. He didn't have to do much player wise. He brought in 3 top talents at positions that had a need. The rest was pre built by Gruden and Mayock. I mean that's a fair assessment whether people like it or not Gruden rebuilt that team and got them in the playoffs in 3 years. That is an amazing success that gets overlooked because of the e mail scandal.
I’m a patriots fan but that imitation of Belichick’s phone call was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while 😂
The title of "NFL's Biggest Snake" could go to a number of people: Bobby Petrino, Urban Meyer, Adam Gase, Roger Goodell, Jerry Jones, Mike Patricia, Bill O'Brien and obviously Josh McDaniels are on the short list.
Mr. FivePointsVids, i would like to issue you a formal apology, you were correct and we should’ve listened.
Who’s here after he got fired from the raiders
He wrote a 'lesson's learned' in excel? Now we know what happened to the snake.
Here after the raiders gave him the boot
Once a snake, always a snake.
Lane Kiffen certainly deserves some mention in the Greatest Snake discussion, as does Urban Meyer. The top comment as of the time I’m writing this mentions Petrino, and he pretty much defines the word snake, but there are certainly others that are quite scaly.
Saban too. He bailed on his team to run back to College to coach Alabama.
Your Bill "Belly Check" impression is amazing...as a longtime Colts fan, Billy B is satan's spawn.
Boy, this did not age well lol.
Huh? What’s McDaniel’s doing now?
Great video as always. I will say it’s always funny as an Ohio native to hear people pronounce our city names phonetically.
I remember going to my hs playoff game against massolin in 2012. Massilons kicker hit like 5 kicks over 50+ yards it was incredible to see.
The apple don't fall far from the coaching tree does it, looking at you bill belecheck
This shid aged like fine wine 🍷
The Massillon-McKinley game really is the best rivalry in high school sports.
Love your videos man
Josh seems like the 'Prison Mike' version of Michael Scott, except as default.
Underrated comment 👏
Belichick disciples are like other game developers' miserable attempt to formulate their own Dark Souls. Most fail to find their own footing and end up completely missing the point because they learned the wrong lessons from the OG.
2-7 so far
Josh McDaniels was from Ohio? Damn it. I guess we have a few snakes from here. The Paul brothers, lebron, and now McDaniels
Get over lebron, he gave you great years before he left. Came back and won you guys a title. He didn’t have to do that.
@@RyuBlaze24 here’s my problem with lebron. He left when things got tough and dragged us through the mud on national tv in his first exit. Then he came back and won us a title. I’m forever grateful for that. But then he decided to leave again and now he might want to come back since the cavs are good now. He leaves when the team starts sucking and when his super teams don’t work anymore
@@bwman1516 He left because y'all couldn't draft or get anyone to come to Cleveland. Didn't they have the number one pick 3 years In a row after he left? Plus, y'all's owner is just a ass tbh
@@bwman1516 things got tough? There was always tough. You guys are Cleveland Lmaoo. He was the only reason you guys were good. You guys couldn’t draft to help him.
You mean queen James the drama queen! As someone from Akron he’s excuse me I mean queen James is an embarrassment to the city of Akron period!
I can see how being the qb coach to the greatest QB in history, then offensive coordinator to the offense run by that qb, could go to a young man's head.
hopefully he’s grown as a person and learned from the mistakes he made in the past. I dont think hes a bad coach he jus as he said “didnt know people”. There is a different when you ask someone to do something as opposed to telling someone what to do
He’s terrible
This just made me appreciate that Brady has been in his prime for 15+ years
As a former Raiders fan, no s*** sherlock.
Ranking broncos off-season:
1. Getting Russel Wilson
2. Raiders signing McDaniels
You better level up on that O Line and protect your 32 year old investment.
I freaking love it! Lol
How bout taking Aaron's favorite target?!?
You should update this at the end of the season. Things are trending in the right direction but time will tell.
The same as the Raiders now, yikes
Watching this in 2024 laughing my a** off at the end of the video
@@thefaceoffuzz Sleep on Carr if you want.
@@thefaceoffuzz if Rodgers is so good of a quarterback name me another top 5 reciver he’s had in the nfl? What you don’t seem to understand is Carr and Adams have great chemistry, and I don’t see why carr can’t make all the throws Rodgers can make (not saying carr is better than Rodgers).
@@ebk_youngbull_7076 Jordy Nelson was 4th ranked WR in 2014 because of Rodgers.
Todd Haley wasnt the best person of good character himself, so that was a rich moment. Never heard about that exchange before either.
