- has your Xbox ever got done downloading update and verifying update but when it comes to restarting it just turns off then you press the power button and turn it back on? and if you turn it on then it asks you to download update again only to repeat itself?

I had the same problem screen went black near the end of update and I would have to do all over again and again. My power block light would turn orange. I had a fan plugged into the USB port. Once I unplugged, it finally worked. The fan was drawing power
Away not letting my Xbox turn itself back on. Try unplugging unnecessary hardware from your Xbox until the update is complete. I hope this will help some of you out there.

I've been stuck in an update loop for days trying different things I read direct from Microsoft, forums, etc. THIS VIDEO IS THE ANSWER and why the hell isnt this the first suggestion on Microsofts guide for broken updates? Oh that's right because a pretty big percentage of people just go buy a new one lol. Cant thank you enough man.

Absolute life saver with this one! I knew how to do this on the One S but just recently bought an OG One after the S quit on me. With the S, it was just hold the pair button and power button. I thought the OG didn't have the troubleshoot option until I saw this video, didn't know about holding the eject button too lol

@@evannniesen460 For the One S it's the same method except you don't have to hold the eject button. I had the disc version but I think they changed it because of the all digital version. So just the pair button and the power button until you hear the power sound twice. Hope it helps someone if they read this

When I update it gets to the final part but then doesn't restart. The power bank Orange light goes off and I have to unplug it.
When the console is on does the power band light change to white?
@@evannniesen460 yeah. I fixed it somehow. I had to Reset everything, lost all my games, change socket adaptors like 100 times but somehow I got there. Your trick with holding the 2 buttons worked so thanks alot my man. Before I tried your trick there was only 2 options...'Start Update' or 'Turn off Console'. Your trick allowed me to go to a different menu and select different options. Much appreciated.

@@goofylightskin6964 unplug everything on the power bank, make sure all the wires are straight then plug it all back in. *DO NOT USE* the Power On button on the console, do as instructed in the video, hold the button on left-side of the console and simultaneously (at the same time) hold the eject disc button. The Xbox will make the start-up sound but keep holding the 2 buttons and you will hear another start-up sound after 10-15 seconds. This should take you to the Troubleshoot menu which allows you to choose Reset, first try the Reset without deleting all apps and games and if that doesn't work then delete all apps and games, after all of that go back to the Update and it should load all the way and Restart on it's own. Good luck.
Takes a few try’s but this method helped me out

As of today from an overnight crisis,it works,in other words shut down Xbox completely and jus continue update wen it powers on,it took meh lik 2 time for it to actually turn back on after it sed it was gonna be restarting,and it took again overnight till now,thanks

@@MishelFrumanyou gotta keep trying it the button is on the side and the hold the disk tray for more than three seconds and then tap the Xbox button and then it should work but you have to hold it if your finger slips it won't work that's why it's best to have a buddy help you hope that gives you some insight and help if that doesn't work then try taking it to a game store and see what they tell you cause they might be able to do it if you can't

I got an xbox with no disc button, I pressed pair for 3 secs and pressed Xbox button no second chime was heard

Mine is in stage 3 at 91 % i tried it but it just restarts the update and it gets stuck on 91%
It could have a hard drive glitch, you might have to reset the system. Like a full reset remove everything, that's the last thing I would do though.

Just had an issue with my Xbox recently would turn off after completing 2/3 part of the update I unplugged my cable connected to my controller from my Xbox as well as the terabyte storage unit as I think it was drawing too much power which would lead to my Xbox power box shutting off (turning from green to orange ) and never turning back on by itself after I unplugged both those cables connect to my Xbox the update seems to be working just fine hope this helped

it did not made a sound the 2 tones did not made a sound i hold it in for a 1 minutes and it never made a sound but when i saw that the xbox was preparing the consle but it went back to the system screen
If there is only one sound then you might have to try again. Try with it turned off or during the update.

Didn’t work hit continue it still gets to 98 percent and goes to a error message do it again starts back at 33 percent gets to 93. Rinse and repeat

It might be the power button, on the back where the case splits you will see an area for the sticker. If there is no sticker then you might have to take apart the casing to make sure the power is connected
For me it gets to stage 3 87% and then it just freezes and doseint go up anymore I've tried everything please help
Press/Hold the side button multiple times.
It will restart and after that it should be working, i had the same issue just 4 min ago and now its working

If this does not work,take the back of the Xbox off,unplug disc drive,media drive and then power block,wait 5 minutes and plug it Al back in and put the Xbox together it’s really easy
It is, especially the first Xbox ones to come after the Xbox 360. I managed to take one apart to the core and put it back together in 30 minutes. Plus you can also clean the system while it's been taken apart.

It still isn’t working for me, it’s just staying on the verifying screen at 100% and then tells me something went wrong. I’ve tried this, resetting it, restarting it etc. I have no idea what’s wrong.
Did you try hard starting it? If not turn it on then hold the power button to turn it off for 10 seconds, then unplug the system and hold power button for 15 seconds. After this try this trick in the video again and tell me if it works or not ok?
Make sure there's nothing plugged into your USB ports when it updates(fan etc)

BRO LOOK ill explain my issue so first i updated my xbox one then it just shut itself off at the verification part then i tried it for like 20 times no use so i reset the whole xbox once from troubleshoot settings no use and then now after i saw your video and updated it again and went to troubleshoot settings and pressed continue it is actually resetting the xbox like it asks where i live and what language to choose and stuff i tried this multiple times too but i am just stuck at the update thing please help me if you know something

Make sure you don't have anything extra plugged into your Xbox USB ports that would draw power. I had to unplug my fan .then after threes days of trying it finally worked

Turn off the console then unplug, hold the power button to deplete the power. Plug the console back in then try this trick, if it fails then try it while it's preparing the console and let me know how it goes.
i have xbox one s.. and my problem is when it comes to verification stage about 35% it will get an error msg. im only using hotspot and wasted alot of data coz of it.. hope anyone know a fix for this..

Try turning it off then holding the power button for 10 seconds, if it continues try the video. If that doesn't work then you might have to hard reset/factory reset the system.

@@Awakening-Tr3y maybe try holding bind and eject for 5 seconds, also try unplugging console and repeating the steps. You will hear the on sound twice, first time as soon as you press it and the second after 10-15 seconds
mine restarts xbox when step 2 finishes and keeps doing it
I don't want to be that guy but if you try the steps in the video then it should help. If it persists over and over again then you might have to hard reset the system, you know factory reset.

Depends on the Xbox, to be honest I don't know. Mine took around 5-10 minutes.

The Xbox one is one of the worst consoles in my opinion. We are always having issues with the 3 we have. S, one s...doesn't matter. Have to use external hard drives since the games keep crashing when loaded from internal drive. I hate Microsoft. I should have stopped at the 360.
@@rocketgamingfun5624 Though they made mistakes, at least they didn't get hacked as many times as PlayStation Network. And they learn from the cooling process so they put a bigger fan in their systems ever since Xbox One. Don't get me wrong there's plenty wrong with both consoles.

Sorry for the delay but tbh never installed an offline update, best advice is to look and see what it covers, or any glitches like the 24H only having 3 friends on my friends list even though I have 400+.

Lol waited 3 months for my free xbox. Now it wont even do its first update it just stays stuck on 20%. What a piece of garbage! My ps5 never had a single issue from day one. Three hours in i cant even turn on the damn box.
