I need to try this at home, maybe with Serrano peppers to make it hotx3 Couple things: 1. Holy crap that's the biggest bell pepper I've seen in my life 2. Why didn't you drink vermouth to open up the appetite? 3. If you wet the knife before cutting the onions, the enzymes react to the water on the knife rather than the water in your eyes (weird) and you won't cry as much
Hey when I was in Madrid I tasted a super yummy street food from near Gran Via (somewhere near Primark) called Hornazo de Salamanca (Meat pie). Can you recognize the place and tell me the name? And if you can show us that recipe 😜😋😁🛎. Thanks and guys please stay safe we love your videos in Greece. 🇪🇸🇬🇷🇪🇸🇬🇷🇪🇸🇬🇷🇪🇸
If you speak something other than English most of the time, you start to forget what the English words for everyday objects are. You can recognize these same words if you read them but they are no longer on the tip of your tongue. Idiomatic expressions also erode. When you go to use an expression like let one’s hair down, you pause because you are thinking “Do people really say that”?
OMG!!! Loved the video. So much enthusiasm. You guys made me laugh. Sure needed that! I’m attempting the recipe tonight. Venga!!! A little bit of Spain in Miami. Congrats James and Yoli.
Don’t know if anyone has commented but red, blue, green cutting boards are for meats, fish and veggies respectively. Prevents cross contamination. Of course at home most only use one type. In addition white for cutting cooked food. FYI your cooking shows like your video tours are very entertaining.
OMG! That was the best video ever. I laughed all the way through it, it was so funny I watched it twice. I felt as though I was a guest in your home and I hope you make more videos like this. Love you both x
Hi from Washington DC Please keep making these recipes videos and any others as I am enjoying them so much during these interesting times. Thanks a bunch! Hasta la próxima oportunidad.
Great recipe, my "healthy" trick is to boil potatoes 10 minutes in water, and then get them deep-fried other 10 minutes. Allioli plus paprika (pimentón picante de la vera) is my favorite "salsa brava". PS; boiled + fried potatoes can be frozen, and thawed frying them or with microwaves, and also can be used the trick with french fries.
I've never made patatas bravas, but when I make home fries, I put the potato cubes in water and cook them into the water comes to a boil, then fry them. My husband has been bugging me to make patatas bravas since we got back from Spain, lol. Our favorite was at El Economato in Madrid!
I will be making this recipe soon. Thanks for posting it. We just love Spain, Spanish culture and the wonderful food. We can't wait to see more of your videos which are irrippressively cheerful and will help people get through this difficult time in the world.
Mr. James and Mrs. Yoli, I love you guys so much. I’ve been very bummed lately from having my all-time dream of visiting Spain delayed until further notice (I had my flights for April 30th-May 16) but watching your videos gives me life. I get filled with joy and hope. Thank you very much. Greetings from Mexico!🇲🇽❤️🇪🇸
Such a fun video. Couldn't stop laughing! This isn't a cooking show, per se! Marvelous! You two have great chemistry. You also helped me understand why all of the so called traditional bravas sauce recipes are so different.
James, you may not know it, but you are extremely entertaining. In some ways this was the most fun video I've seen in a while from you guys. Love Yoli in the background overseeing you! James, just keep drinking wine and keep making these videos!!
Love your show guys!!! It's "liquidity" hahaha... You are the Englishman here hahaha. Keep it up, you are so funny guys since the quarantine, you should see me smiling watching you all the way through the 27 mins. Greetings to Madrid!!! Bob
Spanish’s olive oil is the best in my opinion. It’s so smooth. Every time I’m in Spain I bring back home a good supply like for a whole year which is almost until my next trip.
Yoly is right! You need a looking at chopping board and a looking at tea towel! Most delicious - thanks for sharing the recipe. We fondly remember our Devour tour in Madrid last year - What a different world we live in now. Keep safe. Best wishes from sunny Sydney.
Well done!! 10:00 You cook with olive oil COOSUR, from Vilches (JAÉN), the village where my in-laws were born. IMHO, Jaén olive oil is the best in the world!!!!!Andalusians from Jaén, as the Miguel Hernandez's poem says: haughty olive gatherers... Bravo, those bravas look delicious!!
This video is way more entertaining than any other cooking shows!!i would love to see more cooking videos from you like this in the future ! Your bubbly personality gives me the happy vibe ! thanks ~
Great video once again! Patatas bravas and patatas con aioli are so good ! Miss it so much! By the way, last summer, went with friends en el Born barrio at Bodega Maestrazgo! The place was so cool, your videos really allow to taste real Spain!
Hey James ! Been loving these cooking videos and I'm looking forward for more of this ! I was wondering something. Have you ever thought of doing Spanish videos on the side? I'm not saying back to back videos with the english ones but maybe once or twice per month? I think people in South America would enjoy them. I watch them with my mom and I translate for her and she really enjoys them. Saludos desde argentina !
Como ex-cocinero y adicto a videos de cocina, tengo que decirte que ha sido entretenidísimo. Más de tu interpretación de los clásicos españoles, por favor. Ka nui te aroha my brother, besos a los dos
I'm Australian, with a kiwi mum, living in Barcelona, lover of wine and food, so I do feel like I can relate!! Your videos are informative and outrageously funny! Love to you and Yoly!!
Don't take this the wrong way (I'm subbed and notification squad), but as a professional chef it's hysterical watching you cook. Great videos and I've seen all of them multiple times!
Great video keep them coming!!!! Awesome meeting u in the market in august hope all is well praying for Spain were in this together. Much love to you guys from NYC
This was fun to watch guys! I had planned to comment how over time James was turning more red then Yoli called him out. lol That must have been good wine. James, for not normally being a cook , you do a great job! Keep up the good work guys! Safe wishes!
Your cooking videos are the best! 🤣 they make me laugh so much, James blick over Jamie Oliver any day...much more realistic cooking in the kitchen!! Definitely going to make this dish accompanied by the wine! Well done guys...keep em coming! 😊👍🏻
This reminds me of the segment on the muppet show with the swedish chef. I say this with great joy, you are so fun to watch and yoli behind the camera had me cracking up!
Loved this. The banter between you both plus the somewhat chaotic kitchen ‘goings on’ was awesome. Someone else commented that you can first simmer the potatoes in water which is a good trick. If you try it, also add a very small amount of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) to the water when boiling. It makes the water more alkaline, which causes the outside of the potatoes to get sort of mushy. Then when you fry them, that mushiness gets really crunchy
That was a lot of fun and entertaining. Thanks for sharing the dish. I made Patatas Alioli twice this week. I'll try your brava salsa recipe this weekend.
Just so ya know or if ya don't know already, Stewart from Spain speaks gave you a couple of shout outs or compliments to your channel. Glad he did. You need more viewers and subscribers with the outstanding work that the two of you have put in. Hoping later once the quarantine is over the two of you can make videos of haunted Spanish places in 4K. A lot of ghost hunters are getting massive views and growth. Lot of people are interested in that, that's why the travel channel and others play a lot of that stuff. 👍
It was very relaxing watching you cook. I have lived in Spain for 4 years now, but I have never tried these patatas... I want to try this recipe. I enjoyed you and Yoli sharing this recipe. God bless you!!
Thanks for the inspiration! I made a vegetarian version with vegetable stock and it turned out great! Everyone gobbled it up with some spinach on the side.
Love this style of video! So relaxed and funny! You should do more cooking videos - we got so much out of our holiday to Madrid (from Dundee, Scotland) last summer from watching your videos and remembering bravas at casa Toni is great 😃 thank you! Take care 🇪🇸
Showing the vetoed chopping board on camera, brilliant. Swigging wine like Keith Floyd, tremendous. Showing us how to cook stuff without knowing how to cook stuff, legend. Truly though, I love you two. We are moving to Spain in the next 16 weeks & you have been multidimensional inspirations. Keep doing your thing!
Making this for dinner tonight. I am inspired after watching this video, in addition we are going to make real aioli to go with this dish...... I remember you had patatas de bravas with aioli somewhere in Spain and it looked amazing. Hoping to take a tour with you this summer, after pandemic is over (?). I am also drinking some personality wine as I make this dish, why not? (California, Turley, Zinfandel)
Querido James, gracias por la buena promoción que haces de los productos españoles. Cuando pase esta emergencia vamos a necesitar mucha ayuda para salir adelante y lo exportación es esencial.
OMG! I missed this video when you posted it during the pandemic. Hilariously funny! 😂 I love Patatas Bravas but not sure if I should try your recipe. Brilliant effort though! 🎉
Thanks for another great and fun cooking episode during lockdown! Here's a little helper for you...put a moist towel, paper napkin or paper towel under the cutting board to keep it from sliding around on your counter! Be well!
This vlog was so good - I love the humour James, very funny 👍🏼 I’m not much of a cook but I think I’ll have to try that recipe - I just need to make sure I’ve enough red wine 🍷 🤣🤣
Hope you like these delicious bravas guys (and the kitchen antics!). Let me know what in the comments recipes I should cook next! 🍳
I need to try this at home, maybe with Serrano peppers to make it hotx3

Que envidia de tapica, yo tengo lentejas para comer hoy. 🤣🤣
James, how about making a _paella valenciana_ if you can still get the ingredients? Thank you!
Creo que hay un error en la lista de ingredientes en la caja de descripción, está 2 veces sweet paprika en lugar de sweet y spicy
23:00 that whole thing made me laugh so hard.Something about the music and then Yoli says "your ears are out of control" LOL
Spoiler Alert: With each sip of Spanish wine, James loses an English vocabulary word.
and its adding a spanish swear word
James serías un gran concursante de Masterchef!!!!☺☺

Love it when you cook and drink, James!
It;s like a british cooking comedy TV show.
Love to you and Yoli Alioli.
Glen in England.
Glen Morris it's like Keith Floyd . 😂
Best complement I've ever had!
¿Yoli Alioli? Jajajajaja good one
I kept thinking about the “Galloping Gourmet “ god I’m old 😄
Love this vid! Looking forward to trying this recipe! I smiled when you were asking Yoli how to say something in English! Too cute.
haha sometimes English escapes me
OMG!!! Loved the video. So much enthusiasm. You guys made me laugh. Sure needed that! I’m attempting the recipe tonight. Venga!!! A little bit of Spain in Miami. Congrats James and Yoli.
I love you guys. You always cheer up my day with whatever video I am watching of you two. Greetings from a big Spain lover from Germany :)

Howdy 🤠 folks, greetings from Texas. Just saw your video and I will try making them Papas Bravas tomorrow 👍🏼.
Such a fun video. Couldn't stop laughing! This isn't a cooking show, per se! Marvelous! You two have great chemistry. You also helped me understand why all of the so called traditional bravas sauce recipes are so different.
Made this and love it! Thank you for the recipe and video.
Great great recipe, brings me back to my Madrid year. This sauce is to die for ! Good job !
James, you may not know it, but you are extremely entertaining. In some ways this was the most fun video I've seen in a while from you guys. Love Yoli in the background overseeing you! James, just keep drinking wine and keep making these videos!!

This is absolutely hilarious. The recipe is a beginning and end but it's the chaos in between that I enjoy.
Como ex-cocinero y adicto a videos de cocina, tengo que decirte que ha sido entretenidísimo. Más de tu interpretación de los clásicos españoles, por favor. Ka nui te aroha my brother, besos a los dos

This looks so good. Ate it all the time when I was in Spain a few years ago (Blanes, Cataluña) and have been wondering how to make it all these years
