Kelpies: they're the man-eating water horses that try to get you to ride them so that they can drown you. They've also been known to shape-shift into dark-eyed redheads (weirdly specific). They're from Scottish folklore. I say this because I remember the mod creator, when first introducing it, made a point to mention that the "kelpies" were human because there was no horse model to use. I still think they could have gone with another, more humanoid creature, but whatever.
I think it is funny that people say they hardly play mermaids in the Sims 4 but almost never hear aliens being brought up. At least with mermaids our sims will turn into mermaids when they swim. So, you remember they are there. But aliens are pretty much pointless. I think what they should have done is give aliens and mermaids their own unique secret worlds. I also wonder what would happen if different cults had kids together. What would happen if a mermaid had a child with an alien? If an alien got with a vampire and had a baby that would make it an Alien Vampire. My guess is that the child would get one of the occult traits. I'm curious to see it.
Compared to mermaid's mood changer song, memory erase is 10x cooler. Also people always bring up aliens, mermaid and plantsim when talking about weak occult.
@@loves3344 yeah if you get to top level of the scientist career you can build the gate to sixam its supposed to be an alien world, its pretty much like the slyvern glade and that but it's cool
Love this mod, doing a whole mermaid princess thing and as soon as I put in this mod. The "evil" sea witch I put in "turned" one of my princesses into a kelpie. (They met each other in the world and then sometime later turned into one I have no idea but I had fun trying to reverse it) I love occult sims but they always feel like they're ~missing~ something and that something is drama and unpredictable events.

I created Rikki and Zane from H20: Just Add Water. I had just gotten Rikki initiated into being a sea witch and then Zane put the book away and it completely disappeared! I had Rikki go back to the ocean and dive for it again, but the only thing she kept retrieving were the glowing conches and sea monster kelp. In spite of that, to my great delight her first spell was evaporating water 😁
I'm loving this. Thank you for sharing. If you turn a Papparazzi (My mermaid is a 4* celeb) into a Kelpie, they cease being a Papparazzi and new ones show up.
I’m glad you downloaded the mod. I always love playing mermaids in sims 3 and got bored with the Sims 4 mermaids. After this mod, omg I primarily play mermaids. If you also combine Zero Comics mods for mermaids, it’s so much better.
I personally don't get the negativity around mermaids in this game. They can do everything a normal mermaid should be able to do and more ( like summon a dolphin, make people fall in love with you , change the weather, ect. ) Their powers are super cool and they have great cas ! Considering the fact that mermaids aren't meant to be the main feature of the pack, they turned out so cool.
People compare it to mermaids in The Sims 3, and how those were “better”. I’ve personally never played The Sims 3, so I’m happy with the mermaids in the game as they are 😄
i love this mod, i cant play without it. Sometimes when i need my mermaid fix, I'll just open sims, play as a mermaid and drown all the ugly MCCC sims that my game generates using the siren song lmaaaoooo
SpinningPlumbobs is working on redoing this mod at the moment, and he also has and amazing mod 'Fairies vs Witches'. Definitely check him out if you like good occult gameplay
This looks like so much fun! If only you could use mods for Sims 4 on Xbox! I don’t have a computer that can handle Sims 4. My computer struggled enough with Sims 3 (but I do have a lot for 3) 😆
You might not know this, but even if your PC struggles with Sims 3, it might be okay with Sims 4. It's much more optimized and doesn't require much power on the lower settings at least :)

@@fynnh5459 as far as I know that’s why they made sims 4 cartoonish so it works on more computers and also a lot of people had issues with sims 3s open world. Even though that was amazing

If you didn’t know: When you turn into a mermaid the game removes the bottoms you chose, you can make their mermaid outfit in cas. Their bottom half is basically “naked” when in mermaid form
I realise my comment is a _bit_ on the late(!) side, but "Grimoire" is pronounced as 'Grim-wahh', as in 'Mmm-wahh'! 'Grim-' is obviously as you know it sounds. And the 2nd syllable, '-oire' is pronounced like the French word for "me" - 'moi', but with more of a '-wahh' inflection. As if you're typing the sound for a kiss! 💋 Y'know, like "Mmmwaahh"?! ☝🏼😚👌🏼 With a sort of hard "R" sound at the end, almost like a pirate softly saying - "..Arrr" 🤔😀 Grim-moi-arhhh" So there we go, there you have it! Bob's yer uncle and Fanny's yer Aunt!
I like this mod, but I wish it were a bit instructional. Unless you have the MTS page in another tab, there’s no way you’ll figure out how to use the features, especially Kelpies and Sea Witches.
I find myself interested in this. Not a huge occult player, but I have enjoyed the mermaids I played. (whole legacy). But I'll have to explore if Realm of Magic is required. If so, I can't get it.
I installed it and now my Sims 4 isn't working anymore the Mod is the problem and I don't know what I should do to make it work 😭 I already deleted and installed it again 😭😭I really wanna Play this Mod , even my CC works but Not this mod and its the only Mod I have , I thought an other Mod isn't working correctly so I deleted every Mod I had and installed this Mod again but still not working😕

My legacy's current generation consists of mermaids because the heir attended her parent's wedding in Sulani and then made it her lifetime aspiration to live there and become a mermaid. Took forever to find some mermadic kelp even following all of the tipps available online (didn't just want to buy it from the reward shop) but once she turned I was sooo disappointed... Mermaid gameplay is sooo boring and apart from being able to change the weather feels more like a hassle then anything. Most of the times when I use mermaid skills I don't even know what they're supposed to do because nothing happens. Second worst occult for me personally, worst one being aliens (Half of my sims are still blue because of an alien heir two generations ago). I wish I'd seen this mod earlier because it does seem to make mermaids more interesting.

If you can run sims 3 and struggle on your pc, the sims 4 will run better on ur pc. Sims 3 with all packs needs better pc than sims 4 with all packs..
