This was not Floor’s first show. She had been touring with them for nearly 10 months at the time of this show. It was however her introduction as lead singer of the band for most of the crowd, and to Europe. They had been touring mainly in the Americas, Australia, and Asia, with just a handful of songs in UK and a small one in Finland before this. Storytime was originally written for, and sung by Anette. However Floor did take on the operatic section, that was originally just choral backing tracks. You noticed the time traveler in the crowd. Keep exploring Nightwish!
The crowd at this Wacken (pron: VAW-Kehn) 2013 show had a crowd of over 82,000! And the DVD they made Showtime/Storytime is a masterpiece of live recording and performance! You picked a song thats just as great the 1000th time you hear it! Written during the Anette era (the band's most commercially successful period), this song is just next level sung here by Floor!

Greatest band in the world. Ive seen them live 5 times from the early days to Floor at Wacken 2013 and Wembley 2015 and im due to see them at Wembley 2022. Im blown away everytime and get goosebumps.
Excellent reaction from a true metalhead. You really should check out the rest of this show it is up there with the best concerts ever.This ranks alongside Iron Maiden rock in rio.

Another Annette era song. IMHO, Floor takes this song to a whole new level. The ending vocal improves make it so powerful.
I saw Nightwish on May 8th in NYC. They did this song and it was fantastic. This Wacken 2013 concert is perfect. None of the 15 songs were written for Floors voice, but she nailed them all. Definitely, react to every one of them. All different, all done to perfection.

The guy who is often called "The Time Traveler" is visible in the front 20 or so rows, however there are 82,000 people and there were others dressed like him in the crowd. I suspected they were crowd management when I was there (farther back ☹). As for tickets, Wacken tickets for Nightwish start selling the previous **year** and may sell out. The residents of the tiny town (9000 residents) get their tickets for free.

Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! I have seen this Live ( 15 July 2022 ), and this was indescribable....
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.

Floor Jansen stepped onto the stage with Nightwish for the first time on October 1st 2012 in Seattle, Washington.
However, this was, at the time, the biggest show she had ever done and the very first time this crowd had ever experienced Floor with Nightwish.
In fact, from the 1st day she performed with them, no Nightwish fan had ever seen or heard Floor Jansen perform Nightwish songs onstage.
That being said....
Comments about reactors claiming their "favorite song" when it comes to Nightwish is a bit confusing because yes, up until the release of their 8th album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful", none of the songs Floor sang onstage were recorded with her in the studio.
So when I hear someone say that, I ask; Do they like the actual studio recording or do they like "this" version of the song?
Because as far as vocals go, they're like night and day when it comes to Floor. But I've also noticed that Tuomas, for whatever reason, has decided to take some steps 'back' and play the backup vocal tracks on their live performances forcing Floor to also change her singing style and the vocal melody.
Since Seattle, Floor was as free as a cloud could be. No holding back, and she did it "her" way... until recently.
Not taking anything away from Anette. She's an acceptional singer and artist.
Floor is just from another universe.

If it's got a pop catchy feel to it you can be pretty sure it's written for Anette. Floor brings more depth to it and of course, unlike Anette, can sing the middle operatic part.

Sorry for not liking, but please remove the transparent "shade" in the video. Believe me it's not necessary if you have a voice over (like you do). Besides, you pause the underlying video clip frequently, there shouldn't be any fear for not publishing your clips.🙂
