Bismuth's personality in this episode is much like the actual material. Bismuth is the material with the highest atomic mass yet not radioactive... until 2003, which it was deemed lightly radioactive. Seems to fit pretty well, eh? Seems to be nice, but is more toxic later, hmmm...
Glenn Quagmire not really, in a world in which you can imprison an enemy without taking too much space nor resources, she wanted to kill soldiers that were blindly following commands. We literally see how all quartz soldiers are in the human zoo, yet Bismuth wanted to shatter them when you can just destabilize their form and bubble them away, pretty messed up.
@@neitherlink6612 I think bizmuths point was to shatter the diamonds, not only just for scare tactics but because they're diamonds. Who knows if they can break out of bubbles? And the other reason to shatter is because if any homeworld gem got into the heart of the temple they would immediately have access to a new army
Because she literally attacked Steven (and probably Rose) just because they refused a weapon against their morals. She attempted to SHATTER a child over a differing opinion.
bismuth nearly KILLED steven. clearly the trauma from that would prevent the crystal gems from wanting to unbubble her, especially since peridot is a crystal gem now.
@@joeabosssands2481 Because Steven overheard Ruby and Sapphire wanting their old friends back, so he tried to help them out by taking Bismuth in. That's different than doing it right away, being traumatized by it, and having nothing to gain from it.
The really sad part is that Bismuth is a Crystal Gem. Steven has managed to talk down Homeworld Gems and Gem Monsters, but not Bismuth, who was suppose to have been someone who shared Rose's ideals
Their logic makes perfect sense. Rose saw the danger she posed to the planet and lives of others so she bubbled her. Bismuth was acting just like the gems from home world in that she believed you should do anything you can to win. Bismuth was acting out of revenge and it wasn't healthy to herself or those around her. Seeing as how easily it took her to snap.
She isn't ready to became NEW Crystal Gem. She'll probably kill Peridot with Lapis. And Lapis'll kill her for sure. Maybe is the reason why they decide to keep her in bubble. (my perfect English...)
I don't think she would kill Peridot and Lapis, after all she welcomes new recruits easily, she has issues with the ones that are loyal to the Diamonds
@@22espec that's because they don't have a diamond thing in there outfit instead star so there definitely don't look like they serve for the diamonds while peri and lapis still have it soo they could easily be miss understood to be working for the diamonds
They couldn't unbubble her because she has a dangerous and inhumane regard for gem life. She believes that it's okay to kill in order to win a war, but at the same time, you're still better than the opposing side who also kills. The Crystal Gems (Rose especially) do not see merit in killing for their cause: peace. It's true, they could unbubble Bismuth and try to talk to her, but this is the second time she's been confronted about her beliefs by friends (Rose and Steven) and she has lashed out intending to kill them for opposing her. Bismuth is too dangerous to be free when she could kill other gems, but the Crystal Gems won't kill her to stop her once and for all. That's the core difference between she and them.
Bismuth is too blinded by the mindset of "victory at all costs". Rose started the rebellion to stop destruction, she probably wasn't overjoyed with having to attack all of her old allies to accomplish that. Bismuth then revealed that lethal weapon, Rose refused to allow its use, and Bismuth attacked her, feeling betrayed. Rose then bubbled her because Bismuth tried to kill her. She did the same thing again only hours after being released. After all that she learned that day, she IMMEDIATELY went back to her weapon, showing how obsessed she was. She disobeyed Rose's orders, attacked her, then attacked Steven. It makes a lot of sense that the Crystal Gems wouldn't want her running around after that. She can't be trusted to follow their code, at least not for now.
While most of them were just assuming, as of this episode's details it's fairly well supported by Bismuth saying she supplied the entire rebellion and the likelihood that the Homeworld side might not have been using Gems outside the fighting classes for combat. That's another assumption though, but based on an educated guess at least.
Rose thinks Bismuth is too aggressive/violent/harsh/wants to kill so she bubbled her to keep gems safe because even corrupted/homeworrld gems don't deserve to get shattered
They had to bubble her because if she came out she would still want to shatter, and none of them would want that. And when Steven disagreed, we saw what happened and what Bismuth wanted to do.
I had the same reaction at the end! I guess she's too dangerous with that way of thinking. But I think Steven could possibly change her if they tried. It just seems too soon, there was so much mystery ever since we saw her gem back in season 1, and she comes and goes in one episode? Well I just hope we see her again, or at least get mentioned more often!
They kept her bubbled because she has a bad rep with rose/Steven so she is mad because she was bubbled but what she doesn't know is that rose probably bubbled her so she wouldn't get shattered when the war was still going
Hopefully we get to see bismuth come back in the series though... I feel like she could be easily redeemed and I feel like watching 22 minutes of this character and learning her personality is just setting us up for her character arc maybe later in the series?? Considering we're on amethyst's/Jasper's arc right now.
Bismuth to Amethyst: Welcome aboard! We can always use more Amethysts. Amethyst's thinking: Dude, I've literally been on this team for over a thousand years. I'm not new. To me, you're new.
Of course they kept her bubbled, she's become murderous and unstable. She tried to kill Steven just for not wanting to use the weapon, absolutely refused to listen to reason and she wouldn't have been any different if they'd unbubbled her afterward. The sad truth is the war broke Bismuth, so much pain and loss turned her into a monster as bad as the diamonds, willing to shatter anyone who gets in her way. The rest of the Crystal Gems agree with Rose and Steven's view, they'd rather either redeem or simply bubble their enemies.

I don't know why they don't break the bubble and talk with her. The four of them and trie to convince her that her method wasn't right. I mean, they could even call Peridot to show her an example, she wouldn't be a CG if instead of being puffed she was shattered.
That's more drama. Besides it's not as if the rest would let her and as soon as they told her that she was a CG now I think that Bismuth would calm down. She trusted Garnet and Pearl and and if they trust in Peridot so would she.

She was TAKEN because of that misunderstanding, not poofed. That's how she was put in the mirror.
When she was poofed, she was most likely mistaken for a homeworld soldier.
+Blue Order Well, there's more than one Bismuth, so it may not had been their Bismuth.
It's definitely the same one. The gem is in the same place and she shows the same disregard for homeworld gems as the Bismuth in Lapis's flashback. She didn't even care if Lapis wasn't a soldier.
+TheKD108 I don't think that the gem being at the same place counts as her being the one that poofed Lapis. However, I will accept it. Since I haven't seen another Bismuth that has her gem on the chest.
the pearls of blue and yellow diamond have there gems in the same place so who knows
