@@dshih199 go look back at past seasons. There have been multiple drivers that had similar seasons and didn't win a championship. Everybody played by the same rules. Harvick had a cake walk into the final 4 and his team didn't capitalize. They did the opposite of capitalize. Its tough, but lets not act like having the best car all season or winning the most races means you should be champion. Thats never been true and still isn't. I'm not the biggest fan of this format, i'd like to go back to the old format where you win a championship by accumulating points over the entire season. But this is the system, and he had advantages that the system allows and he still didn't make it.

Yeah. Playoffs are the best invention by NASCAR ever. It creates fake drama, doesn't reward consistency and gives the 10th best team all season a shot at the "championship". Perfect! Who wants the best team all season to lift the trophy? That would just be boring...

Go back and watch the last 20-25 laps. The Gibbs racing team seemingly built a wall around Hamlin. From lap 20 remaining to 5 laps, Kyle Busch was in 7th and between him and Harvick in 11th were the 10,14,21. Kyle seems to drop back allowing all three pass him so that he puts himself between Harvick and Harvicks teammates so he cant use them to pick up points on Hamlin. During the same time Hamlin has the 20 and the 19, both teammates, directly behind him running interference protecting Hamlin from being passed. Go check it out. No way Kyle loses momentum so quickly and just a coincidence all the Joe Gibbs cars in position to wall up Hamlin's points.
@@dereka5017 looking at the laps and his positioning, you don't think it unusual for him to lose three positions and finding him directly in front of Harvick, separating Harvick from access to his teammates positions right in front of them? Denny had two methods to lose ground at that point, Harvick gaining a position, which was walled up with Kyle in front of him, and second would be Hamlin losing a position which was walled up with Jones and Truex directly behind him preventing???? Too danged convenient I'd say.

This was good race that was ruined due to playoff controversies... All I’ll say is that there’s a good reason why no other Motorsport league uses the playoffs...

Should the Patriots have just been handed the Vince Lombardi trophy for their regular season finish? No. Playoffs add excitement and drama and makes things more interesting. Deciding a champion before the season is over is boring and anti-climactic.

In NASCAR you go against the same opponents all season long and race on different tracks, so the person who is the most consistent is the best driver, this is why all Motorsports use a season-long championship format... This system is fair for the NFL, not for a Motorsports league like NASCAR...

@@leerudolph8894 It is too convinient (god I can't spell) but I legitimately thought Kyle's car was just very bad at the time.
Maybe NASCAR doesn't give enough carryover points the the winners of each race. Evidently winning 9 races doesn't mean enough.
