When he first one at Watkins Glen I was listening on the radio and almost had a heart attack when Dave Moody said he went wide in turn one. I was coming from bull mountain in Dahlonega and the pool room was on the way back home so I went there and heard the first ever cup win siren.

I remember every single one of these moments and what came before them. The Pocono race in 2016, both Michigans, Chicago, the entire round of 12 and the Superspeedways. Then 2017 was the most painful as he lost so many wins (Martinsville, Dover, both Talladegas, the 500, Michigan, Dover, and worst of all Phoenix). At last I finally got to see him win and remember punching the air and jumping up and down. Then, it’s been a wild ride since and what a journey it has been that has led him to a championship.
