    Great video. My suggestion is to use both Double Dark + Ironite together as Ironite is an iron supplement as there is no nitrogen. Fueled with Double Dark’s 16% nitrogen would help the Ironite improve its results.

    The Southern Ag liquid iron won this match by far. Your neighbor was absolutely correct. I think you just had a little bias towards the special sauce, but it did not beat the liquid iron by the street.

    • @DanTheLawnMan

      Could have gone either way what made me decision was the amount of vote per. and the cost of application. I could get a total of maybe 4-5 apps in secret sauce in 1,000 sq ft. Liquid Iron I could only get maybe 3 apps worth for 1000 sq ft. but the color on both really did stand out more than double dark. I look at it as a whole. Thats why talked about app rates.

    the liquid iron is hard to beat. i guess it just depends on what you are going for. the double dark is a fertlizer with iron. if you have a granular fertilizer you use regularly and just supplement with iron in between fertilizer applications, i personally think that is the best method. the problem with this is the granular takes longer to turn your yard green, while liquid iron does it in 2-4 days. the liquid iron can be applied ever month. i like to spray it on the lawn at the half way point between fertilization applications so by the time the iron is wearing off, the grass is starting take in the granular. liquid iron starts to wear off around the 14 day mark or after you mow a few times. also depends on grass type as well. Bermuda grass will turn the the darkest green/ blue you've ever seen with a good liquid iron application.

    Great video. However, milorganite is not just for greening, it has additional beneficial bacteria in it that help the soil. The healthier the soil the better your lawn does health wise, not just for looking more green but reducing diseases too.

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan  Год назад

      PFOA look it up that is what is in miologranite. Hense the reason you don’t see me have videos of this sort of “organic fertilizer”.

    • @Piccolo_Re
      @Piccolo_Re Год назад +1

      @@DanTheLawnMan nitrogen, which milorganite provides nitrogen for 8-10 weeks since it’s slow release, is what drives the bus, but it is iron that does the greening. Ironite can’t be compared to milo since ironite isn’t a fertilizer. Double dark and Milo can be compared, and ironite and liquid iron can be compared. But comparing all 5 against each other is comparing apples to oranges.
      If you want a dark green lawn it is all about the grass seed type, how much you water it, and giving it lots of nitrogen and iron.

    • @mrBDeye

      have you done a soil test? does your iron show high?. If it does you have too much iron in your soil/lawn and it cant continue to uptake anymore. Try using Tiger Sulfur for a color response. Ironite contains a lot of iron+sulfur. Maybe iron isn't what your lawn needs. Also your soil PH check that too high, too low can lack nutrients and not absorb them well.

    • @DanTheLawnMan

      Good question. From what I can remember here was my study. From which one faded first to last in order and roughly days.
      1. Ironite color lasted about 28 days
      2. Secret sauce color lasted about 31 days.
      3. Double dark color lasted about 35 days.
      4. Iron lasted about 30-40 days.
      5. Milo because of slow release lasted about 45 days but had the lowest color response of all once they all faded I noticed milo stand out more. Still not dark green.

      I have sandy soil, more sand less soil I have no such thing, and the soil I do have is healthy and black and full of organic activity. Soo.. yea theres that. Apart from the granular stuff the liquid "mostly" doesn't even touch the soil its foliar never even gets to see the top layer of dirt/sand. The rest of the wash off will barely get up taken.

    I'm very curious what that mixture is. I know he has talked about FEature, so I wouldn't be surprised it that part of it or it may just be a custom mixture similar to FEature. The key is always chelated iron + a nitrogen source.

      Well to those who deny I have the proof here. I even added some time stamps in the description of the video where you can pause and kinda see the difference. I just wish I had a better camera. But again, you didn't get my opinion on the color only glad I had some guest show up for this video.

    Question, how often should I use the liquid iron?

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan  Год назад +1

      During your growing season, 1 time every 2 months is the safest best 👍🏼and keep the color going.
      Color starts to fade roughly around week 6. Which means by Week 8 you are free to spray again. Always follow the label amount no need to go heavy you'll always get a color response from Liquid Iron at the min rate.

    Great video but you really can't compare liquids to granular in 10 days. Milo takes around 2 months to even breakdown. Can you give another update then?

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan  Год назад +1

      to this day no difference I am about day 60 into that application and its just as green as the rest of the yard. and all the products have worn off a long time ago since about day 45. I unfortunately don't see the difference in milo apart from the phosphorus which made stolons move a little more but no greening effect. Milo if I had to call it today is still last place.

      I want to make everyone aware if they read this comment- this is half the information and it is right this is the ingredients. I am not liable what you do with this info if wrong measurements and purchases are made. I will say this is 100% the ingredients I used.
      Janelle-
      so you will be replying to every comment with the ingredients now lol this is the ingredients i will give you that.. Good luck with that. I already told you I will be making the video soon. Since you are now on the case to solve this good luck with it. be weary of the product you purchase and the amounts may cause more harm then good and I am not liable for what people do to their lawn with this info. ill still make the video for Janelle Morgan but my gosh, you got half the information and now providing it to commenters. Later they screw something up and blame me. there is still the right ingredients to find to make it cost effective, measurements mixed etc. spreading this type of info now that you have the "ingredients only" is not good info. I told you be patient I am making the video now your commenting SMH.

And to be 100% honest I don’t think it was darker than the iron liquid. And as far as the Malarga night goes, you put it on the side with all the mud that definitely influence the way people voted. @@DanTheLawnMan adding carbon to your soil improves its ability to hold nutrients and make them available to the plant.

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan  Год назад

      @@meanstreak1170arbon doesn’t do that. And there’s no such thing as release nutrient to make available to the plant. What u put is what u get out of the plant the leaf blade it can only take up so much. What is left over becomes trash.
      If I gave u 100grams of protein 100grams of carbs. Your body can only store for example 50grams of carbs for a source of energy. The other 50grams become poop. If I feed you 100grams of protein your body can only take up 80grams for muscle tissues and cell development the other 20 grams become poop. How the heck will my body hold this to make available apart from fat? Fat is fat and nothing else.
      Same goes for lawns. Npk is npk there is nowhere for it to be “held” to make it available months or years down the road because u add “carbon” to it and now makes it available.
      How did anyone have a nice lawn or soil before carbon ever came into play. I’m not talking shit just trying to educate you. Where ever u gather this info from or hear it is bullshit and your feeding into the bullshit. So keep buying “carbon” fertilizers and let me know in 20 years if your soil still looks the same as it does today. I wonder how much carbon you need to make it right? Years down the road.

    The iron content is so much different you cant compare.

    • @DanTheLawnMan
      @DanTheLawnMan  Год назад

      But you can compare if the words out of everyones mouth on youtube is "this turns your lawn dark green" so who truly is the dark green if everyone says it turns the lawn dark green? here is an example, you search for the best sedan, one video says toyota is better, another one says best in class honda is better, etc etc. will you say because of the gas milage one is not better than the other because the gas milage varies so you "can't" compare. Regardless of % of iron the plant can only take up so much at the same time. so in the end its really all the same % just one is actually better then the other.... thanks for the comment.
