    Do you have rounded shoulders, excessive #kyphosis, shoulder pain, or chest pain? This is a simple and affective massage for the pec major and minor muscles. Loosening these two muscles before doing and postural work or shoulder movements is a great idea if your shoulders are often rolled forward.⁣

    Everyone knows what the #PectoralisMajor is, but it can contribute to limited shoulder flexion (along with a “tight” lat). Rolling this muscle can temporarily increase your range of motion to help strengthen your end-range. The #PectoralisMinor is underneath the pec major and it connects to a bone on the shoulder blade and to 3 of your ribs (ribs 3-5). When the pec minor is tight (and usually weak), it can be difficult for you to pull your shoulder blades down and “scoop them under” like we have showed you guys so many times before.⁣

    The yoga block is used to demonstrate an option for women who are unable to roll their pecs against the wall due to an obvious anatomical difference that I don’t have. ⁣

    We will be posting another video describing the shoulder scoop later this week. It is something that we post often and it has shown to make a dramatic improvement on people’s’ shoulder, beck, and back pain. Again, just like Mike says, this pec massage is great and all, but it is often only temporary relief. I haven’t massaged my pecs in about a year because I understand the scooping of the blade and how to apply it to all of my movements and life. For now though, start with massaging them, then practice the strengthening movements. ⁣

    Why didn't u massage where it arises from on the ribs instead of just near the shoulder?
