Everybody: cool he’s revealing it we can all learn it!
Everybody after video: well shit I still can’t do that.
His "explanation" is part of the trick.
Lol
Such a f****r
All I'm going to say is that he should remove the "Educational" tag from the video. People are going to have a worse understanding of the world after this than they did before.
Truuueeee 😂
Thats pure skill and experience. No illusion, no bs.
It could be , until you realize it could very easily be done by getting the chosen card to the top, and then grabbing the top card while all the other cards are falling . The method he described is impossible lol
@@NocturnalIntuition what you mean impossible? He just did 8t
@@spencer6874 its all for show. you wouldnt be foolish enough to believe what a magician says would you?
@@NocturnalIntuition i think im getting what you are saying wrong. The dude did grab the card mid air. Without knowing how he did it it be magic
@@spencer6874 yes he did grab the card mid air but not by the method he described
I decided to reveal the method myself because I think "revealed" videos online are just terrible. They steal from the artist; they give away their art of craft without permission. And they steal from the viewer, who is given the illusion of knowledge. The people who make those videos don't know what they're destroying, including their own reputation. I wanted to use what I thought was a negative pull into a positive push. I encourage anyone who wants to learn magic to go to the source, the books, the videos and the artists who create them, not the people who steal from them.
As I said before ... "This time, there actually was a ghost in the cabin!"
Also, people who respect the craft, will always find their way to the source.
Well said, sir! Then there are the annoying "experts" in the comments section, like the ones on your first appearance video commenting on a visible move, missing the point that the trick had already been done BEFORE that. A bit unfortunate you caught more than one card on P&T but you handled it VERY smoothly, and it's still impressive. As Penn said while walking from the stage, "He's better than you think."
Kostya Kimlat well, if there was anyone other than you, I would have called him a lier. Still, even tough Penn and Teller said the same, I still have my doubts. I know some variations with “cheating” for it which are pretty clean. But if you really are doing it without any gimmick or sleight of hand, you sir, are litterally doing what I would have considered to be IMPOSSIBLE.
why did you catched like 6 cards on penn and teller , and not 1 was that intentional or mistake ?
Kostya Kimlat 11,15,19,20,25,1
25,15,21,18-1,13,1,26,9,14,7
The skill and practice required for this kind of precision is absolutely astounding. You are a true master of your craft, sir. Well done.
RUclips tutorials are creating a renaissance of card magic. There are 13 year olds five times better than David Blaine. I'm so excited to see what gen Z creates over the next 20 years standing on the shoulders of people like Kostya who have gave them the building blocks to miracles!
Agreed
If u believe his method of illusion u deseve a rubber peanut
@@jonnydelacruz8553 Yay!!!! I love rubber peanuts! 😍
@@mirandameyhem2724 i bet u do
Years worth of practice for 1 minute of magic, that is incredible! I can't imagine what tricks you are currently practicing now that we will see in 2+ years! What a legend you are Kostya!
It's so rare to see a magician show off sheer skill, no gimmicks, no devices, no tricky movements
Neel Parmar so true. The folks that can perform gambling demonstrations is what I relate this to. Showing bottom deals and seconds etc, but saying “you can see how we’re doing this, but don’t expect to learn it by tomorrow” as Dan or Dave Buck put it lol.
Try decades
When you reach a point where even revealing the method won't be enough for others to replicate the effect ✨
Thank you for letting the world experience this level of competency. I feel smarter watching this.
Awesome.
@Niel - did it ever occur to you that his explanation isn't truthful?
That's why magic is so great, people want to believe.
QuasiELVIS all truth. Thanks for watching!
QuasiELVIS you need to get off the internet sometimes my dude, i’ve seen you in the replies of a bunch of comments under this video. everything isn’t a huge conspiracy and people are actually truthful from time to time (shocker, i know). after seeing kostya do magic i 100% believe that he can do exactly what he explained in this video, he’s not just some random joe schmoe, but a highly skillfull magician. you have to ask yourself what he would gain from lying about this and the answer is absolutely nothing aside from a few hundred thousand views on youtube. it doesn’t really matter though since he’s already a very successfull magician and performer, and discrediting him is indirectly discrediting penn and teller - two of the most famous and knowledgeable magicians in the entire world - as well.
@@KostyaKimlat I was wondering did you get kind of annoyed when they just told you how you did it on the show instead of asking in code?; usually they do that not to reveal the trick lol, seemed kind of counter intuitive
I’ve always enjoyed seeing you perform and hearing you lecture and talk about magic. Walking off stage, Penn said, “He’s better than you think, I’m telling you that!”
Well, once it was revealed that you actually did what you did, everyone, (magicians and lay people alike), knew immediately and without question something I’ve known and been witnessing for years: Just how talented you truly are. And then to have Penn tell us you’re even better than we think says a lot about their respect for you and your true level of talent.
I’m happy to see you get this kind of recognition. And you can use it in your speaking engagements to show that hard work, dedication and perseverance WILL pay off. Pursuing our passions can make the seemingly impossible for others less dedicated, an eventual, achievable goal for us as individuals who stay focused.
Well done, Sir. And...I’m not the least bit surprised by your achievements. You’ve worked for, and deserve, every damn one of them. Congrats, and much continued success.
Robert Benedict thank you so much for your kind words. I didn’t hear Penn say that until I saw the video too and was incredibly touched by that. I am grateful to those two for the opportunity and grateful to the hundreds of magicians who have shared their knowledge with others. Thanks for your support, friend!
Oh yeah, sure, his hard work paid off… by NOT fooling them! I’m kidding! It was a great trick and you really impressed them, and the audience, anyway.
"That perfection can never be achieved is no excuse to to never try"- Paladin
You have put years and countless hours of practice to achieve this 'effect'; that could have been achieved with gimmicks, and yet, here you are revealing a method which isn't much of a reveal but more of a testimony to what can be done when someone tries to achieve something with pure skill and no deception. Well done, Kostya! You represent patience, persistence, perseverance and above all- Love for the Art.
"to to never try" You're telling me.
@@zym6687 I think it is a neat little touch to the fact that perfection never can be be reached :)
Why are you so passionately convinced that it's not a gimmick?
It's a great example of a skilful magician because people like you think it's real.
This is the closest thing to real magic. Heck it's infinitely times better
It's beyond magic it's super human ability base don dedication to an art form. He's like the Ted Williams of playing cards
@@johncox5839 yep. Just persistence and skill, the best of human magic

-Thats a beautiful shuffle!
- Thats years of my life right there.
LOL :D
Actually, it just takes a few months to get it that perfect. As a cardist, I do the faro shuffle like 25 times a day.
The fact that you do that trick for real is the best magic I've ever experienced. It is magical to me that a person can train themselves to do what seems impossible.
Your more conventional magic ( if you could call magic conventional ) is also very impressive and fun to watch.
Why do you think this isn't a trick? The whole point of being a magician is tricking people like you.
@@QuasiELVIS that's not a trick, it's a skill.
@@cedricthomassiew9513 semantics I guess.
Watched how he did it... still fooled. 😄

Hell of a man ! In this trick what was most important it was you - Real Magician with Real Personality. That's what Penn and Teller appreciated most.
Well in the two weeks since I first saw your first performance on Fool Us! you have gone from someone I didn't know, to someone who is in my top twenty favorite magicians of all time, to being in my top five. So Kudos to you for that. I am not a Magician and I am not someone who keeps track of the magic community, but despite that I knew of magic growing up, and I knew some of the people who was doing it and who were famous. My interest peaked when I saw Penn and Teller for the first time and I plateaued for a long while... only for you to be the spark to reignite my interest in it. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you for doing what you do. You really are someone who is worth watching and I won't soon forget your name.
Wuts with the horde pic?
@@abdullaalturabi6526 He plays WoW, whoop - de doo
You have more than twenty favorite magicians? Wtf?
He made the top 20......t o p 20...top 20......holy fuk that doesn't even sound good it sounds quite bad lol
Lol if top 20 is bad for you folks, i don't even know what to answer, considering the thousands and thousands of magicians out there.
Not only do I have more appreciation for magic and this effect but for you as well. We spend so much time perfecting an art that no one gets to see. They see the end but not the hours put into something we hide from them
Right on.
What amazes me about magic is the variety of ways magic is performed. To use pure practice of timing of the drop of each card in pairs for the entire deck is indicative of just how dynamic magic is. And it's amazing. It's almost like a professional athlete doing a trick shot; like yeah there's the culmination of the craft but then there's just this one specific technique they just drilled the shit out of.
The only part of this I can do is open the deck of cards
I swear
I know the alphabet
Relatable
I can say the alphabet...
You can open the deck? That's damn near God like in my house
Now that I know how it's done, i'm even more impressed... and to achieve a level of which you can do it every time is just... incredible.
"People wanna know the effect but not the method"
This statement really struck a chord in me because it made me recall one of the best movies about magic - The Prestige. It made me remember the ordeals Angier had to go through just so he could outdo Borden and that no one would ever know the pain that he had to go through in every performance.
Truly amazing.
"no one cares about the man in the box"
I love that movie
thanks for the movie recommendation, i looked it up and it seems amazing! i wrote it up in my phone and i’ll definitely watch it as soon as possible. have a great day!
What a likable person you are, and your performances are 'magical'. The time and dedication that you put into this "trick" is mind boggling to me. You may have just shown hundreds of thousands of people how to do it, but less than a handful of us would EVER be able to.
You sir, are a genius. Well done!
I would like to see this in slow motion. Maybe a colaboration with The Slow Mo Guys ??
Why would a magician want to do a sleight of hand in slo-mo?
@@QuasiELVIS Its not sleight of hand. He counts the cards as they fall
@@QuasiELVIS True. It's a contradiction.
It is sleight of hand... Watch the video again in 0.25x speed.. he grab 1 card, but shows 3 afterwards..
There's a reason why he also didnt got 1 card in penn and teller..
@@squallpratama He said in Fool Us that he really did grab the card legitimately. There are some sleight of hand techniques to find out which card to grab, but he really does reach in and grab the card.
His presentation skill is also something that is amazing in and off itself. On top of magicians practicing their craft, they have to practice how to tell a story. Kudos to the dedication
From Argentina I just wanna say that as an English Language teacher I always tell my students "practice makes perfect", YOU sir are perfect in what you do! and a clear example of perseverance and patience as well! You are amazing!!
I can relate to what you said here. When I saw Jeff McBride manipulate cards for the first time it was pure, genuine magic for me. Once I learned how he did it, I was even MORE impressed (which I didn’t think was possible). There are gimmicks that can help you backpalm cards but seeing the real deal performed by a skilled magician brings on a sense of awe.
I got that same feeling watching your performances on Penn and Teller, and knowing the skill it takes to catch cards like you do brings on that same sense of awe.
Seeing Jeff McBride do his manipulation act on World’s Greatest Magic was what engaged my passion too. I’m 100% with you. After a year of struggling to back palm I heard about a gimmick called a card catcher that you could buy. I thought “ah, there’s the shortcut!” I got it only to be deeply disappointed and went back to another year of practice. I was 15 and that was a powerful lesson on how great pure sleight of hand can be.
Just saw the video of this trick performed in front of Penn and Teller.
Hell of a great job, mr Kimlat! Keep on trucking and being awesome!
Michael Studený thanks! :)
It’s difficult to explain how impressed I am with your skill as a magician, but I’ll try. Amazing, clever, accomplished, enjoyable, entertaining and just plain brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing your skills with the world.
"He's better than you think, I tell you that" he knows how much it takes to reach that level ! That's awesome man thanks for showing us your talent.
I also think it's really impressive that he conceived this method himself and stuck with it. If you're adapting someone else's method, you know it can be successful because you've seen it done to completion, so you just need to keep at it until you get it down. But with no precedent for this, I feel like it would be very tempting after a month or so to say "Man, this method just does not work" and give up. It takes a lot of confidence in your ideas and your skills to stick with this long enough to see it through. He said in the video that it took years, and I believe him.
The real magic, from real magicians ... is being entertained and given that wow moment. It takes a special talent to do that for people. I can't do it, but people like Kostya and Penn & Teller can, and for that, they are special people who will always have my respect and love. Thank you.
It's magic when you can be told how it's done, and it's still amazing.
It is always the best to get the reveal information from the author, because they know everything about how they did it, why they did it and even how they came up with the idea to do it. I really wish there was another trophy on Fool Us to appreciate magicians who do not fool Penn and Teller but simply amaze them with the insane level of skill they have like you there. It is incredible control of cards you have and knowing how it is done simply makes it even more amazing.
PS: This is one of my favourite "not fooled them" moments in the show.
You probably won so big with Penn, because he's more about the juggling and skill... for me, this is still magic because it's past the normal frame of human conception and I'm just in awe, I can't conceive of counting or tracking that fast, and part of me still believes it's a trick, not juggling... I think you did something amazing here where there's more magic when you know what the trick is, and I'm so glad you shared the secret! In a weird referral, i feel like i could watch this 100 times and still feel amazed because of it.
This is not magic nor illusions.. This is craftmanship and skills.. I salute you sir! Well done..
The only guy on Fool Us who managed to make it so even by his "failing" to fool Penn and Teller, still cams out on top with the "He's just that good!" Remarks.
Nice.
First the road runner cull and now this... Kostya is the rare kind of magician where the tricks become more impressive once you know how they're done.
Holy crap man, that's just savage skill. Good on you for that dedication. Color me truly amazed.
I bought a couple of your tricks, really enjoy the games you play with yourself, your methods are fun to preform and practice and learn, your tricks don’t bore or fade away!
using the alphabet is pure genius, I've never thought about 26 * 2 = 52 cards, that's brilliant math
So he is thinking or saying 26 letters very fast
You've created your own magic trick. Now you're a legend in history of magic. You'll be remembered forever.
Kostya NO! Now everyone will be able to do this trick... in 18 years :D
Oh, sure... if they can also develop the manual dexterity and reflexes, too... Some things just can't be taught.
@@BU1Lander Well, in my case 18 years will put me at 56 years old, so not exactly at the prime age for manual dexterity and reflexes even if I practiced 10 hours a day.
It took me 5 minutes to learn just from watching it on tv. 18 years story is just a part of the pattern.
🤣😂👍🏼
Kostya! Name's Dan - I worked with Daniel Dennis a few times when he was on radio in Orlando, and his show Tom and Dan shouted you out - you are SPECTACULAR!
Love those guys! Thanks for saying hi!
This is very true kostya. There's a British magician called ollie mealing you've probably heard of. If anyone hasn't, hit up his YT, he's incredible. And he does the pick a card, find the card trick backwards. He pulls out a card, has the spectator pocket it, he then has them choose that same card from the deck and finally reveals the card isn't in the deck. And I figured out a really cheap, dirty way to do it without palming. I could have just copped it but I figured a really clean looking gimmicked way.
Your spectators don't know how hard the trick is to do. Very true
Tom Hudders Ollie is indeed quite good
That entire deck you flipped in micro seconds was the best act. You are a legend! You are just too good.
Magic is art... I honestly have a new respect for it!
Kostya Kimlat gave a new meaning to the word "magic". This is pure talent! When you see something and you say "this is impossible", this is the magic comes. It is so obvious and not at the same time. Kostya did an amazing job. I am not gonna say congratulations, I am gonna say thank you for creating this "trick".
Full respect for you and your art. Enjoyed watching. -Tom
I’m not a magician at all, I just enjoy it. I watch P&T to see if I can find the tricks. When I see your work, I’m just blown away. I yell at my phone “He can’t be doing what I think he’s doing!” But you are. It’s such a skill, well done.
"I'm revealing this because it is my method." WRONG! You are revealing because you know no one can do it. You are saying, "in you faces". And in my opinion you really deserve it. You are a master at what you do. Thank you for the video.
I'd disagree. It's just that nobody can do it that quickly. You'll have to start off with a very slow dribble.
I'm not the target audience for this video - youtube recommended it to me because I watched Penn's WIRED interview I think. But I'm not really interested in magic. Usually I don't find it entertaining and have to pretend to be impressed/amazed when being shown it in person. Most of the time I can easily figure out how it's done. But I can still appreciate the pure skill and hard work of something like this. This is truly impressive. Well done.
@@kozodoev thank you. And thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
When I watched the act and Penn talking in 'Code', I came up with the same exact thing, still a great effect 👍👍👍
it was hardly code, they just went and said how the trick was done. i.e. he just actually did it. I'm sure if they'd been less stunned they would have been more discreet.
You did years and years and years and years of work. And just show it on RUclips yourself. A living legend
I also love how you encourage everyone watching this to perfect this method or another kind of way. You are honestly one of a kind
I decided to reveal it myself because I think "revealed" videos online are just terrible. They steal from the artist; they give away their art or craft without permission. And they steal from the viewer, who is given the illusion of knowledge. The people who make those videos don't know what they're destroying, including their own reputation. Only magician I'm more impressed with after I know how he did it
Lennart Green's trick is another one. Finding out how it's done and all the effort that must've gone into perfecting it just makes it that much more stunning
Kostya Kimlat is a man of focus, commitment, and pure sheer will
It kinda is a supernatural power because that’s like some serious skill and passionate soul.
I had a theory on this trick that you used a sneaky finger break to know where their card was but apparently not which is amazing. You amaze me sir. I have an idea on how you did your first trick on penn and teller as well without gimmicks or anything. The idea I had explains many of your moves. Still doesn’t mean I can pull it off. I’ve been practicing that trick you did the first time on penn and teller. Truly remarkable your fluidity.
I believe that's literally one of the most difficult magic tricks.
@johnnytheprick Penn and Teller exposed his magic trick by saying that he literally did what he had sad he would do
I saw your trick on the latest Fooled Us and told my family "I'm actually more impressed knowing this guy actually did the thing he said he did than with any magician's trick I've ever seen in this show before." That remains true. The dedication to truly master a deck of cards like you have is amazing, full-stop.
Now you told me I actually apreciate the trick more
Really appreciate your honesty man. You're very talented and a beautiful performer. As a comedian, You've inspired me to write jokes that will feel like magic. One day for sure! 💜☺️❤️
Man... only magicians will understand how much life you put into this skill. Ordinary spectator will only think that this is a card trick. Admiere your skills.
I love the idea of putting this trick out there because there really are more and less difficult tricks. That doesn’t downplay the intelligence to make a trick, but it’s true. You’re doing one of the most difficult methods I’ve ever seen for what could be considered a small effect in the scale of a magic show, but the balls of it makes it feel so real because it is. And because you really pause, and you really settle in and then you really do it.
I always love to be amused esp when its "Magic" - Thank you - Love from INDIA
This technique is beautifully, stunningly simple. I loved how Penn and Teller were like "...holy shit, you said you were going to do this thing that seems impossible, and then you actually did it". So many kudos to you.
So your fast enough to grab that card and you even know where it is. How is that not real magic.
Josva the Fool presence of mind
Its called godlike accuracy...
It called catching a fly
This is absolutely amazing. I have to say, I think this is better than any magic trick I've ever heard about.
Penn once said a quote about magic that I've never forgotten and it gave me an entirely new appreciation for magicians. To paraphrase, he said:
All magic is is the commitment for someone to practice something more times and for longer than you would ever think imaginable.
Shaun S thank you, kindly! And I love that quote. It’s actually from Teller: “Sometimes, magic is just someone spending more time on something than anyone else might reasonably expect.”
This is mine so I can go out and reveal it! RESPECT
I think what’s more amazing is that in the first instance you grabbed three cards and asked what the card was and then grabbed the correct card. In the reveal you still had no idea what the card was until you showed it to the guy and asked if that was the right card and he said Yes!! It really is a 17 years or more worth of experience in that trick and I doubt anyone in the planet could achieve the same skill and technique and accuracy. Without a doubt a truly magnificent display of magic and skill. My hat most certainly comes of to you on this trick..... it takes less time to be a qualified Doctor in ER than to perfect this trick..... BRILLIANT and thanks.
Are we sure this isn't like Darren Brown where his 'reveal' is just more misdirection?
I believe so
I haven't seen the actual episode, but just from this video it seems that Penn is saying "we think you actually did it". So if that was their decision and he didn't fool them, then it must be true that he does actually do it. I still find it hard to believe, but based on available info... I mean although a technically challenging proposition, it is probably possible to learn that over time, if you start at like age 5 lol
he reveals the trick at about 2:04, you're welcome :)
This is insane!! I can't even begin to imagine the amount of practice this must have taken. You must be one of the most skilled magicians ever
absolute madlad
U are one of those magicians who will be remembered for centuries not only for ur brilliant tricks but moreover for greatness and morals u taught as a magicians.
Ur a Legends,a true legend..
Thankyou sir.
thats so crazy he literally just does the impossible, its not a magic trick its just pure magic
Dear Mr. Kimlat, even though you have revealed your method, I feel very strongly that you are a gifted magician and love your work.
His face when they said “we think you actually did it lol”
Such a hard worker, such an intelligent man... I have nothing but respect and stars in my eyes when I see you perform. Thanks a lot sir.
I like your last videos a lot. It would be cool if you would try this youtube thing a bit more. I don't mean you becoming a youtube magician, only doing a bunch of tutorials or something, but i have a feeling people might be interested in what you have to say about your experience as a magician. If you find the time for it, once in a while, that would be awesome.
Greetings from some amateur from germany.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I'd like that too.
What peeps don’t realise is the amount of time needed to perform just one trick. Imagine learning the whole deck and where every card sits, then countless hours of dropping perfectly the cards but to then calculate the precise moment to catch one of 26 cards. I’m not a magician of any kind but I do try and work out how something is done and I did pretty much say how you did this beforehand. But the work involved, sir I salute you for your dedication.
Stay safe
Plaza
Wow, Kostya! That is MAGIC! And that’s one beautiful truth.
That level of skill is magic. That impressed me more than finding out some slight of hand. The mind is an amazing thing and you have mastered a significant portion of it.
Goodness, what are the chances you grab the correct card even if you ALMOST correctly counted the card as the fall.
The real magic is the charisma you bring to your performance
Wow... Just.... WOW 😮......
That is just incredible skill and dedication right there, and while I'm not a magician, sometimes it's doing something for real that is just as magical as creating the effect of doing it. And there's pure skill in every level of this - even riffling cards together so that they're perfectly interlaced takes skill, so don't underestimate that.
I love watching the behind the scenes stuff - how tricks are done - because then I get to admire the artistry and creativity and pure skill of pulling the effect off. Learning to do it for real and just doing it without gimmicks or short-cuts... that *is* magic.
Thank you.
Dude, come on. Tell us the truth.
You're The Flash, aren't you?
Dude when I watched the video I had the thought of the trick being done this way by counting the sounds that the cards make when they hit your hand and timing a card that you purposefully positioned in a spot you could catch it with. I thought “nah no way that’s impossible” because of course every time you flourish the cards it’s going to be a different speed at least by a little bit.damn you proved me wrong. You have crazily amazing mechanics. Congratz.
this is probably one of most mind blowing magic trick methods I've ever seen or heard!
x0pht thanks for watching
Huge respect for you sir. Doing something like this takes years of practice and also performing in front of a person is nerve wracking!
That’s not a trick, that’s skill! Thank you for sharing, and I am still in awe.
“Revealing” the trick isn’t really a reveal because he’s the only person on the planet that can do it. Great discipline.
Knowing the method does not take away from my admiration of your skill. Bravo!
When 'magic' gets superseded by a genuine technique, that's magic.
Wonderfull work Kostya!
Tclans thanks!
Incredibly skilled and hard work of 20 years paying off.. Hats off to u bro.. U r amazing
Jesus Christ Man that is just ridiculous. You show me the trick and my mind is still blown. I love seeing people like Kostya perfect a craft. This gives me motivation for trying to perfect other things in life.
I am not a magician and I won't practice this trick for any time at all because I don't have any talent in magic, and I choose to stay on the audience side.
BUT, you just reminded me the beauty of daily hard working efforts. Grabing the actual card is amazing, and I believe everyone has a few cards they want to be able to grab in their life.
It’s always impressive what practice and dedication can make people do. To me this is like someone learning to play a difficult song on the guitar or something. Except no one else probably know how to do this technique
Awesome it's rare to have someone show how it's done as it's an original method .. but we'll done and thanks it shows the younger generation that if you put in the hard yards to practice your efforts do get the appreciation it deserves
I love watching reveal videos after I see the trick. It's real insight to the level of skill, dedication, and creativity of the magician.
Hello sir! First i thought its nothing and all but trust me sir, i deeply acknowledge now how u do it after knowing how it's done. U need real skills real art real something in you to do this and idk whT to say! Seeing u counting cards and calculating position without mistake! Its that even +1 or -1 card will ruin it. Its amazing. Hats off
Rock wilson thank you, kindly.
I'd like to be able to 'spill' a deck of cards like Lennart Green can, let alone do what you do so competently. Well done, sir! Your hard work pays dividends.
