Well guys, Marcelito's story is nearly as amazing as his voice. His mother rejected him at birth and custody was given to his father (they had separated), unfortunately his father was serving a lengthy prison sentence, so little baby Marcelito spent the first 2 years of his life in prison with his father. He was then adopted by a prison guard, but it was not a happy childhood and at 9 years old he discovered they were not his real parents and he ran away. He survived by selling food snacks on the city streets. He says he learnt to sing with two voices (not uncommon in the Philippines) as a way to combat the loneliness. He earned extra by singing in bars and cafe's. He met a girl, fell in love and they married. They now have a child of their own, and he has been reconciled to his birth father. He entered Philippines Got Talent in 2011, and of course won it hands down. He also participated in America's got talent with the songs "Beauty and the Beast" and " Time to say goodbye/Con Te Partiro " so if you want to see more of Marcelito you can check those performances of him.

I believe Marcelito lived on the streets from age 7-24 yrs old. As a child, he cleaned chicken coops for money for food & would sing to the chickens when he was sad &/or lonely. He is completely self-taught and I believe he has a God given talent. He went on the Filipino talent show as a way to find his family, as he had no bitterness or resentment towards them for abandoning him. He did find them and reunited with them and now also has his own family. He remains humble, sweet and funny and gives back to the less fortunate in his country. I never tire of hearing him sing. He will give you chills & maybe make you feel emotional every time💟☺️
I loved the wife’s smile. It was so real and angelic. She said she was in such shock to hear the beauty of the song but her smiles tell a different story. I think she was totally in tune with the song and enjoyed every bit of it. Great react. I loved both the husband and wife’s enthusiasm and passion.

little background, marcelito dad was in jail, his mother left him on the streets, he used to sell sweets, (candy) to live, he is self taught, no training, he has since married and a daughter, and living a good life, thats the short versionhe is from the philopeans, he sings in english, italian and spanish, none of which is his native language

MARCELITO WAS HOMELESS AT 7 YEARS OLD MOTHER CAST HIM INTO THE STREETS , HE WORKED AS SETTING UP BOWLING PINS. CARRYING BRICKS , WHATEVER HE COULD DO . WHEN HE WOULD GET FRUSTRATED AND SCARED HE WOULD SING . HE NEVER HAD VOICE LESSONS ..

I was more amazed at both your reactions to Marcelito than his rendition of "The Prayer." Thank you, guys, for your appreciation of this videos. Marcelito learned to sing this way by himself. Do you know that he did not understand the Italian lyrics that he sang.at the time of this video? He speaks Tagalog fluently, his mother tongue was Cebuano Visayan.. he understands English but he can not sustain long conversation in English...
quite common here in the Philippines to sing in dual voices because we used to have contests on national tv for males who can sing both parts and we filipinos learn to sing by singing along and even on duets but marcelito is so unique that his voice in both parts are so distinct from each other.mabuhay from the Philippines🇵🇭

Love, love the accent!!!Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him live twice in Toronto, Canada. He is the most humble person you will ever meet. The VIDEOS DO NOT DO HIS VOICE ANY JUSTICE. I have seen live Celine, Tom, Stevie, and other great singers but his voice live is the best of them all. In 1977 I served in the US Navy & had port of call in the Philippines. In every bar the bands not only played music but, they all mimicked the unique traits of each artist. Boston had just released their debut album & in one bar we listened to a band play every song off that album in the order they were recorded in & they sounded exactly like Boston. Arnel who became the singer for Journey got the chance because he sounded so much like Steve Perry. It is their way. But, this duet stuff is a new one on me. Check out The Warning at Teatro Metropolitan Live singing "Animosity." You'll love it.

Marcelino Pomoy was a Pilipinas Got Talent winner in the Philippines. He participated in the American Got Talent the Champions. Pls watch all his performances on that competition it’s mind blowing.

Andrei and Dominica, Marcelito takes this song to yet another level in the release of his album, "Duet Yourself". Since it is a tracked recording, he includes all of the harmonies where Bocelli and Dion sing together in harmony. It is quite beautiful with Marcelito singing the lead (Bocelli) in tenor/baritone and the alto harmony (Dion) in countertenor. This song also includes a marvelous background orchestra. The reason he can do this, is he was never told him, you can't do this. Marcilito was a street kid who sang to.pass the time when he was working and is completely self taught. He also at least at this time spoke no English or Italian. His talent is being able to reproduce almost anything he hears, which is much easier if you don't know that your not supposed to be able to do that.
