This blanket is beautiful! I am brand new to crochet and have been busy making gifts for family and close friends for the holidays. I have a cat, also, and I have had to keep her away from my projects (only because they are gifts, I'm used to having her on my blankets and clothing). I really enjoyed seeing your cats, also!

This is the best border ever! I love it.
It's gorgeous! The v stitch is one of my favorites, I love the way you put the colors together on your blanket. I'm in the process of sorting out my leftover skeins & this would work perfectly. How lucky you are to have your little orange striped helper Ray lending a hand to hold down your measuring stick & then having help again with Layla testing the blanket out & holding the skein. Obviously your blanket met with their approval.😄
An incredible use of stashed leftovers! I really really like the color choice for the border. The V stitch is such a speedy way to crochet and so beautiful. It reminds me of honeycomb from a distance. No denying the encapsulating boarder is brilliant and beautiful! I may look at a few older blankets and consider upgrading their looks with a stunning new boarder. Thanks again Anja, and kodos for both your assistant's!

Wow what a gorgeous blanket and you finished it so quickly💕
I'm so glad you showed us how-to-do the very first (black) stitching line around the edge of the blanket, preparing for the border. This is your first tip, securing the edge of the finished blanket. I have never done this.
Grateful for showing those nasty lacey holes that l fail, not knowing what to do. Do l put in 2 stitches in the hole, or 1, or how to fix it ? It becomes a battle. This method is the answer... this is the 2nd tip....confidence builder...thank you.

If you are trying to use up your stash, I would recommend you use double (or triple) strand in Catherine's wheel stitch.

Thank you for teaching me to make your AFGHAN! I hope to make it one day! Can I be allowed to teach you something without coming off as rude? I hope it won’t be seen as such. It is not a blanket, it is an AFGHAN. 60 YEAR OLD LIFELONG crocheter and quilter. Sorry if I come off as preachy, but I’m like this about quilts too...they are not “blankets” either. Again, thank YOU for teaching me! And WOW...what an innovative way to do the border! I LOVE IT!

Brilliant
When you do the slip stitches around the edge, do you count them on the long sides as you go so that the stitch counts on the opposite sides match each other? Or are you just eyeballing it and hoping for the best? Thanks for any thoughts on this that you have.
I love how this stitch looks "knitted". Can you also use the slipstitches for a single border? Sometimes the sides look erratic and have little holes.
I made my mum a v stich blanket. Every row I did in a different colour, there a lot of ends. She's had it well over a year and treats it so gently because she loves it so much. It's very eye catching.
