I had the Scrambler version back in the early 1980s, my first real street bike. It was amazing! I used to ride it everywhere, even the Baltimore beltway. I had a great time exploring the (then) rural back roads of Howard County Maryland, riding with my wife the back. A decade ago I bought a Suzuki TU250x just because wanted to experience the joy of riding a light single cylinder bike again.
Cool bike! I have a 69’ Honda cb160 Sport that I’ve own for about thirty years. My daughter started showing some interest in it so I got it up and running. (finally) She was out riding it around the neighborhood the next day. Now she says it needs a paint job….lol
I must have sold a boat load of these in 1971, the Texas model have a long carb slide to restrict it to 5 BHP, first thing kids did was change that out. And yes, it broke a boat load of muffler attaching bolts and or stripped out the head.
Great to see Jordan on the saddle involved and testing that classic old Honda. Those older ones are surprisingly quick and responsive (not you Ken the bike!)😁👍
My first motorcycle was a green 1972 CB100. It was bought new and saw me through college. It was cheap to run, insurance was cheap, and light enough to physically lift onto a station wagon rear gate for transport.
Iv just brought one the same colour to restore. Do you have any recommendations where to buy parts and how to re do the paint job on the tank keeping the original style
My Dad gave me a brand new red 1970 Honda SL100.... I think it was $420.00. I was 14 and my buddy down the street had a blue one. We thought we had it all!!
The first bike I ever road was a friends, Honda cl 70. I was 14 years old. I WAS HOOKED FOR LIFE. I went out and purchased my own bike a few weeks later.
I had a CL100 when I was a kid, flogged the guts out of it and never changed the oil, kept going forever...Jordan reminds me of that Honda commercial by the Beach Boys lol
In our country we had the same CB125 bike, but with a parallel twin. But I feel the single-cylinder engine was more powerful. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
@@richard9444 Yes. We had the CG too.........I had one. But that arrived in our country around 1979-1980. Looked more modern. Took a lot of punishment too ! Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
Coming back from a fishing trip in college, 2002, I spotted a sweet blue one for sale at a curbside in Solon, Iowa. I decided it was to be a gift for my gf. We shook on $500; it was a Saturday, early evening. I explained I would go to the bank Monday morning and come with cash after. When I got there mid-morning, it was gone. Someone offered him $500 the day before, Sunday, and he took it. No phone call, no shame.
Hill is great for demonstrating the power and stopping capabilities of bikes, not so great for my helicopter parenting alarm even if the kids ride above average. Would be a great bike for the campground, scooting around down the shore, or a college campus.
I have never understood why anyone would pay top dollar for an underpowered , slow , butt ugly moped when they could have a classic like this . Honda's never die...they just find smart owners . PK
Faster than I thought for a 52 year old 125. It's fun to see these bikes in action. Yes, Honda 4 stroke singles are bullet proof!
We were given one by this old dude when we were 14 or so. I hate to say the abuse we put it through. It was the 90s
100 not 125.
Classic bike , not a toy , very well built and great fun to own .

Managing the office and riding bikes, what a woman!
Had a blue and white one as well as a Honda CL350 growing up.
Honda set the standard for all categories in the 70's.
Apart from handling, brakes and speed.
