You talk about wearing out your clothes and feeling nervous to wear your nice clothes at home. In the old days, people relied on aprons to keep their clothes nice during dirty work like gardening and cooking. Big cloth napkins were laid over their laps during mealtime. This saved the splatters and soil on their clothes
I was all about the wardrobe, the make up, hair & accessories. Now I have downsized everything, hardly ever wear make up & my hair is super short & going all natural. Getting back to basics. God will lead us all in the right direction.
I am so excited that you are a homeschool mom and a Christian!! I was homeschooled my hole life and I loved it! It opened so many doors for my future! Love your videos so much!!
Thank u for touching on ur budget and yes please share more about ur financial journey it’s always motivating to hear how people did the impossible while we r in the the hard part
Anna! So nice of you to encourage me... just know I've definitely not "done the impossible"! hahaha definitely not. We're just following Dave Ramsey's baby steps and we're on baby step 3b. Embracing "less" is all we've done.
I wash my hair once a week too! As someone with super thick long hair like yourself, washing my hair is a huge chore... So honestly that's what motivated me to adopt that routine! Your hair really does adapt though, it just takes lots of patience.
I just found your channel a few weeks ago and I’ve been watching through them slowly, I feel like I’ve found a kindered spirit. I don’t have children and arnt a minimalist😂 but I love your chilled slow pace and I really aspire to feel less held down by “things” . Love your content 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah I made the mistake of telling my husband we need to sort through all our stuff when he was super tired. He always feels like we don’t have that much but I still want less.
Thanks so much for sharing! I think most of us feel like we aren't experts at minimalism, but it's nice hearing others experience with it :) Excited for your closet declutter - just decluttered mine and found I have way too many fantasy clothes for being a stay at home, homeschooling mom! I kept a few outfits of nicer clothing pieces for date nights, days out, etc. and feel better facing my reality day-in, day-out of comfy leggings and a nicer shirt. I'm embracing the period of life I'm in knowing that if things change, then I can always find more appropriate items at that time - this year, I've resolved to be kinder to myself!
I am a Christian mom of 6 ,I thank Our Lord that I had the honor of homeschooling them.People used to come in our house and say ,I thought you would have more toys here. They weren't without toys ,books and art supplies were more inportant to me.My kids played outside in all kinds of weather, building forts etc. Those times went by too fast.Three of them are in their 20's and three are in their 20's .You are such an inspiration.God Bless you and your family
Love your channel 💗 you make me feel really calm and positive. In the process of decluttering our home because I feel really overwhelmed with all the stuff.
Love you, Madisun!! Thanks for sharing your heart ❤️. I feel like my God-given “have to” is gardening. I feel alive and free when I garden. And Yes on homeschooling!! We are Christian Natural Learners. I could never go back to traditional! Dumbing Us Down was one of the first books I bought and read with my teen daughter.
"I had rice on my shirt the whole time? I had a bunch of rice on my shirt the whole time? Gollie..." 🤣 🤣 😂 Spoken like a true mom, who might have scarfed down some rice really fast.
Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to digging into all of your homeschool recommendations. My oldest is 3 and the thought of anything but homeschooling has been heavy on my heart but I'm so nervous about it being successful for us.
also just curious but were you homeschooled as a child? I feel like being homeschooled has made me THE most laid back, care-free homeschool mama because I know that it will all be just fine since I lived it. You got this!
Sorry to jump in on this convo, but I’m the same, my little boy is due to start school sep 2023 and I’m already worrying about it. I went to state school and I hated it but I don’t know if I could cope with homeschooling :/
@@Honeyshouldwehomeschool isn't it funny that we have a whole year but it's already so difficult to think of?! I've been watching RUclipsrs who home school with small children and knowing that it's not an 8 hour school day when you homeschool makes it easier to imagine succeeding at it. I've ordered some homeschool curriculum and plan on starting with my 3 year old and seeing how it goes. I should be able to get a feeling for it in the next year to really get an idea of whether it's for us or not.
Homeschooling is a blessing especially in these times of unrest in the schools and the quality of the education.I see a trend that breaks my heart (the rushing of our children into everything at an early age and way to many activities.Children are not being allowed to be children , they don't need to memorize songs at two years old or know the names of all the planets, I'm not saying they can't be taught these things ,but those yea4s when they don't legally be in school should be a time of free play and just enjoying every day with them as much as possible because before you know it they are gone all too soon.If parents spent less time driving their kuds to all these activities and the resulting necessary trios to the drive thru I think there would be a little less stress all around, not to mention a little ease on finances.Just some thoughts from a mom of six who homeschools.
Such a good video Madi!! Loved getting to know you better. And such beautiful wedding pictures!! 😍😍 We are planning to move to Idaho this year to try out having 4 seasons and to have a less busier town to live in. However, I have a desire to visit Hawaii to see how I would like that!! My question is what do you all eat for lunch?? Lol my kids like their sandwiches 3 different ways and then I eat a salad with potatoes and legumes, but it just always feels like too much work and then too much clean up... Just too time consuming Ugh. I'm struggling to find a way to make it more simple. I don't mind leftovers but the kids aren't a fan (we do leftovers for dinner every couple nights)
Thank you for sharing!!! I love your videos. I love that you mentioned the every dollar app and how you budget. We’ve tried that app but have ultimately failed at it. If you’re at all comfortable with it I’d love info on dollar amounts you delegate for certain sections. We’re also a family of 4 so would love to know realistic numbers we could be sticking to.
hi... im Levi-Daisy... im in Australia.. just found your Chanel and its nice to meet you... I think im going to enjoy your company.. ok, so let me start at the beginning.. 🌸✨
Hi Madisun! I have so enjoyed watching your videos! My question...My husband, my toddler and I also eat (mostly) a whole foods, plant based diet... with that being said, what do you all do with your chickens? Are they pets? Your friend's chickens (that you're renting your house from)? Or do you all eat eggs? So random I know, just wondering 😊 I am also very passionate about homeschooling (I was homeschooled as well), I love Jesus, minimalism, nutrition, and our family highly values intentional living...anyway all that being said, thank you for your encouragement to live in a manner worthy of the gospel!
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️ No these chickens are our friends and we do not eat the eggs. Our kids just think they are so fun. I really appreciate your kind words about following Jesus and intentional living. I definitely don’t have it all figured out, but thank you for supporting my videos.
Love your channel and always look forward to a new upload. As someone who has always lived in a northern state (Minnesota) the long winters as a homeschool mom to two littles can feel like an eternity. How do you feel that living in a warm/tropical environment has aided in the health of you and your family? My mom and sister live in Florida and we are so tempted to make the move. Asking for a friend 😉
Absolutely! I've talked before about how much I value being outdoors every day. I've always felt God in nature, especially at the ocean's edge. 🌊 But everyone's situation is different and you have to do what is best for you and your family. 🌈
How weird is this, I live in MN and my mom and sister live in FL too, and I also homeschool! Lol I love then sun and miss it when I leave, but also thankful for MN and it’s own goodness.
This was a fun video! I am a 7 too 🥳 and could relate to what you shared. Also, trimmed my hair with your technique this morning. It turned out great! You just saved me $65 😳 🤑

Just found you today and watched hours, geel absolutely like a kindred spirit, so affirming of my preference for slowness and a grateful glad heart, thanks for making these!
Is it hard to homeschool in Hawaii on the legal side of it? Also, I used to live in San Diego and if you want to continue this slower paced lifestyle, CA in general is probably the last place you want to be in, especially that city as it’s the complete opposite of all of this lifestyle! It’s so busy and dirty there!
Was your endometritis cured "only" by changing your diet to a plant-based diet? Do you mean pure vegan or vegetarian? I can't get rid of endometritis and I'm tired of undergoing hormone treatments every month. :(

@@MadisunGray Haha! For YEARS I have considered selling my engagement ring and donating the money, then just keeping the thin, simple wedding band as my only ring. But it feels scary to consider doing that because it's obviously a special item... even though I know there are so many people at my church who need money for bills and groceries way more than I need a fancy diamond ring! When you do shampoo, what do you use? My hair was also thinning a little due to stress (my family has been through it for the past couple of years and I had some health issues) but then it started to grow back once I started to really oil it and baby it. Then it started to thin AGAIN! My son has long hair too and his started to thin a little as well so I thought it may be the weather (we get summer shedding...like a dog...i know😂😂😂) but then found that the shampoo we were using that was natural was in a lawsuit because it was causing peoples hair to fall out😭😭😭😭 Anyway. I'm doing oils again and acv with rosemary...but I can't find a shampoo I trust anymore.
