Thank you! I was unable to find the replacement foam and thought I had just ruined my beloved Dyson V6! This is the perfect work around.

When you're looking from the back and see the "Max" text, there are plastic retaining clips at the 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm positions. Use a thing knife and some guitar picks to get around them and eventually it will pop off. Work around this clips at the top

Yeah and where do you guy the replacement HEPA filter in Australia? On Amazon only or what? And there is no way we can get the back off our Dyson V6. We've already bent and cracked and snapped the plastic and it's on super tight. The only way seems to be to snap it off, as in half or pieces.

I like the conversion idea, but the parts for this seem to have gone up in price recently. Have you done any work on the shark Cordless units? In some respects they seem to be superior.

much better unit than a dyson. I have a shark at home now and the dyson for cleaning up in the workshop.

Where in Britain can you get a motor housing cover that will accept a HEPA filter upgrade as in the video? All I can find is the blue hepa filters but not any plastic motor housing. Any help would be most welcome, many thanks.

The kit I ordered came with some kind of black plastic "deflector" that i think is supposed to sit over the board. I can't seem to get it to fit though. Is it not required...?

it should clip into the new back part but I've had kits without it and never had a problem

@@FINDITFIXITRESTOREITBUILDIT Ah, thank you very much for the quick reply! Rather than trying to get the deflector OVER the cables at the bottom which I was initially trying to do, I just worked that by gently re-positioning the cables (pulling them slightly away from the board) I was able to get the deflector to snap in place and then tuck the cables back on top and it all fits perfectly. Up and running now. Thanks again!

I can remove the plastic it’s really difficult

I agree. It's really hard to get the old motor cover off. But as you are going to replace it with a new cover + hepa filter you can just chuck the old damaged cover in the bin.

I think it's easier to actually take it off from the top, not the bottom. Pry it slowly off from the top walking it off one side then another.
