I made this today starting with a box pound cake. I did not add any extra sugar because the batter was plenty sweet already! It turned out amazing! Moist and sweet. Will be delicious topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or peaches!
That pound cake looks really moist and light in texture, just the way I like all cakes. And, yes, I remember, growing up, my mother used to tell us kids not to run inside the house because we will cause her cake to fall while baking inside the oven. Lol 😊

I believe I’m becoming the same way! You can also try cake flour out of the store instead of all purpose flower.
