A couple of days ago i was watching you patiently and expertly turning out a perfect pie crust. Thank you. Now i ve been watching this simple pound cake. Marvellous for those who are beginners or do not have the time. I m writing from Malta (Europe). Thank you and go on with this blog. Bye. Xx
Wow I am intrigued at this recipe i been doctoring cake mixes for years and have actually started my own channel now I will definitely be trying this one and subscribing to your channel thanks 😊
Just got through watching you, and as always, the recipe looks yummy, and I can't wait to try it. I have watched your videos for a while now, and you are one of my favorite online RUclips channels. Thank you, God bless you and Sam, and your family.
Whatever you make always looks delicious Linda. I've never heard of adding sour cream but I'd give it a try. Hope you and Sam are doing well. Thank you so much for sharing another great recipe ❤
Hi Linda, new to your channel, I watched 3 of your videos so far. I am going to try this today because I just got a whole bunch of strawberries from a farm. This is exactly what I was craving. Watching from Canada....
That cake looks so good. If it's one of your recipes I know it will be good. I would like to see a vid on the Marie Antoinette" cake you mentioned that is Sams' favorite. The name has me intrigued by it. Thank you for another great & easy recipe.
The video is on my channel already just put Pound Cake in the search box and all my pound cakes will come up....you'll find it in there. It's so good! I know you'll love it!!!! TFW God bless!!!
I was just wondering like you saying those ingredients for flour, sugar, oil, eggs & sour cream, I'm like something still missing. I'm glad you said the cake mixture as I continued listening. You didn't show the cake mixture. That threw me off and probably everyone else that was watching. Anyway I will be trying this. Your cake looked delicious.
I'm so sorry about that. I'll try not to have this happen again. I did show the cake mix box. You didn't watch long enough. TFW God bless Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hey Linda, I'm finally back!! Gone for 8 months, stuck in a 3rd world country was no fun!! They opened up the airports in mid June and I was outta there!!!! Flew out on July 2nd, in my house on July 3rd!!! Watching this is bad timing, I have a Betty Crocker Pound Cake in my oven right now! If I'd have seen your video this morning I would have made this! I have some strawberries mixed with a simple syrup I made with water, sugar, and a little strawberry preserves mascerating overnight in the fridge. I also whipped up some cream! They are waiting for the pound cake to bake and cool! 😋 Where did you get that fancy-schmancy bunt pan? I want one!! And where is your beater with the bowl scraper on it? I got mine after I saw you use it. That pound cake smells gooood!!
I'm so glad you're home. What an experience that must have been. I bought the tube pan on Amazon a few years ago or maybe it was on the actual site for the pan. I can't remember the name of it but it's a popular brand. Are you talking about the open topped mixer?? It's put away...I still love using it but I use the one on my counter. Check your subscribe butter to make sure the "all" button is still checked and not "none"....mine were all changed to none and I had to change them. I hope you enjoy your pound cake. Please stay healthy and safe!!!
@@Handsthatcook The beater for your Kitchen Aid stand mixer that has the rubber bowl scraper on it. It's quite a handy gadget! In fact I think when I saw that you were also making a pound cake. My Subscribe button is good.
@@Mr.56Goldtop Oh, I know what your talking about now....the flex edge beater causes a lot of splashing while mixing so I don't use it much any more...just occasionally. Glad you're home safe and sound Ted. I've missed you my friend! I also looked on the pan I used to put this cake in it's a Nordicware pound cake/angel food pan 18 quart 4.25 lider ....hope you find it.
The Betty Crocker pound cake mix is not that good, kind of tasteless, nothing like a pound cake. Entemman's is better than this mix. I was very disappointed. I had to add more whipped cream to my strawberry shortcake for some taste!! 😁
@@Handsthatcook I really wanted to try this cake, but, I only have yellow cake mix. Can I add butter to the recipe & use yellow or vanilla cake mix, so I don't have to go to the store?
@@imdavis1784 You can try using 1/2 melted butter and 1/2 oil as the oil in the batter for the oil. I'm not sure this will work but I'd try it. I hope this helps. TFW God bless
Your pound cake is truly divine, Linda. The attention to detail is unmistakable and unbelievable.
I tried your cake,it turned out nice. It had a lightly crisp crust. Thank you.👍💞

Beautiful pound cake
Thank you Linda, I'm going to try making this later today. Do you think I could substitute butter for the oil? Thanks
I really don't know...2 sticks of melted butter equals 1 cup....you could try it.....let me know. TFW God bless
Very nice! Linda!😊🤗💕
Put some lemon 🍋 curd and a dollop of whipped cream or some strawberries and glaze and a dollop of whipped cream and it would be even better 😋
I will try this one thanks and will put a confection glaze on it

Ms Linda i noticed you said butter cake mix. But could it be made with strawberry cake mix also . Just curious
I would try it to see if it works...I think it will. TFW God bless!

Can you substitute creme cheese which im sure you can.
Did you ever find an answer? I love the taste of cream cheese in my cake, but love the texture of this recipe
The pound cake looks wonderful Linda. I’ll be trying this recipe. Love & friendship, Allan ❤️
Wow...that's for the recipe! Could I add some blueberries?
You can add anything you want to...blueberries sound good! TFW God bless!
👍👍👍👍👍
Can I add less sugat
I've never added less sugar but I think 1/2 a cup less would be permitted. TFW God bless
Could you use chocolate cake mix?
I was wondering the same thing.
You can use any cake mix that has "butter" written on the box. It must be a butter cake mix. TFW God bless!

Your recipe and technique is identical to Ina Garten
Hi Honi, I wasn't aware Ina had a video with the same recipe. I don't watch TV chefs. Thanks for letting me know!! TFW God bless
Does Ina use a box cake mix, does she use sour cream, I couldn't find the recipe you are referencing??
