Gotta say, the way you have it set up with all the side builds is super aesthetically pleasing. If I were going to start collecting these more to-scale vehicl sets, this would be where I start. Also, good timing on Lego's part for putting this our right before Fall.

I really like the farm idea and the side builds are so attractive and quaint

For several years, every Saturday in the summer, I would help unload and load farm trucks like this. This set has me wanting to try to pack all the side builds in the bed and see just how neatly I can do it.

Hi Jang, I know you probably won’t see this comment but I still want to say it.
I have been watching your channel for about 7 years now, and have loved watching your videos. Your videos have always been a wonderful thing highlighting my day, and I it has been fantastic seeing your channel grow.

I only wish this was a licensed Ford Fargo, just because my Dad had pretty much all the parts for one in the garage for years that he planned to assemble in his retirement. Sadly he passed away before he was able to even start, and we gave it all away. So it would've been nice to at least assemble a Lego version in his honor.

It's the side pieces that make it a fun seasonal item on the shelf that the whole family enjoys. My kids liked changing the fall pieces for the christmas wreath and look forward to the flowers in spring

The side builds are a nice feature. I feel lego could do a whole line of vehicles at this scale (yes I know the camper vans exist) with lots of these types of side builds and people would eat it up

I really enjoy how Lego was able to create the curvature for the hood and roof of the truck. I also love the use of the claw piece in light gray to create the grill. Thank you for the great review Jang!

Or just massage it very well so all the bubbles are ironed out.

I really enjoyed building this set. I agree that the wreath was a finicky build, but once you figured out what they were doing, it helped to just put stuff together and worry about the alignment when it was all assembled. Yes, they could have omitted the side builds to save some money, but I think they added so much to the charm of the set that it was worth it. Loved so many of the small details, like the rear-view mirror, stick to hold the hood up, etc. I wasn't too bothered by the color differences in the dark red, although I did find the mold marks on the clip pieces on the rear fenders to be a bit annoying (but tell myself those are just "dents" from a rough life on the farm ;-) . thanks.

I know not a lot of people care, but the truck, kind of, to me at least, resembles the old chevrolet 3100, the color and the fenders and the tail lights, kinda remind me of that

  • @antiqueshistoryandconspira3791
    @antiqueshistoryandconspira3791 2 года назад +1

The truck is a true piece of art in my opinion, you can see all the inspirations through trucks, like he said. But for me, the inspiration I could see first was the grill. The grill really does bring IH to the front of my mind.

Built this set last week. It was the most enjoyable Lego build in quite some time. The end result looks great from all angles! BTW, I didn't have any off colour red pieces.

  • @SueBobChicVid

I like it more because it's not trying to be a model of a real truck. LEGO forgoes some of its whimsy when they try to make "scale models". This does 'realistic' the right way for LEGO.

Now that over watch sets while it does somewhat look like this one it does have those goofy hover wheels instead of normal ones

As I trust your reviews - always excellent - I viewed it as soon as it was published and decided to buy it.
I fell n love with this set, although in Europe we don't have those pick-ups. I like the extras very much for a seasonal display (like in the dreaded Hallmark Xmas movies 😜). Overall I share your opinions.
IMHO proportion-wise it's questionable: I feel the wheelbarrow is far too large, the cargo space narrow and small vs the cabin. Though smart built the wooded parts are too thick, especially for the crate with the smallish pumpkins.
Regarding the build: I found the assembly of the wreath a lot easier when you build it as a string and close it to a circle with the last piece. (like a chain bracelet).
    Just my 2 cts. 😊
Thank you again for your review!

I'm not really into old classic cars, neither am I a fan of pickup trucks. So I probably will not buy this one. But this looks like a really nice Lego set, very well designed with a high quality feel to it. You are probably bang on with your assessment of the pricing. I think the side builds are brilliant, without them this would be just another Lego vehicle set. They add a ton of displayability, makes it a complete scene and adds a lot of life to it. I also think the vegetables and flowers are all scaled nicely for this, if anything they are usually oversized when used with minifigs! Sure, the pumpkins might be a little small, but where I am from pumpkins aren't that much of a thing and they usually come in all sizes anyway. If anything the big ones are usually the rare ones.

So they can make new curved pieces for some random bonnet on a stupid pickup truck no one asked for, but after 4 or 6 iterations of the -Slave1- Starfighter of Boba Fett they couldn't make something to give it its iconic egg shape? And instead uses weird 90 degree angles and wedge pieces????
