Thank you so much for the Don Rich delivery today. It's amazing that he would go from here to making multiple recordings for NASA's Apollo program including the Apollo 16 moon landing. Shine on mister moon and shine on Don.
Holy cow, I haven't heard this song since I was in High School. I remember it very well because Tex Mitchell was my Father. Don was only 15 years old when he played lead guitar in my Dad's band. He was a very talented young man and one of the nicest people you could ever know. His loss was devastating and left a big empty hole in the world that can never be filled. Thank you so much for posting this. Steve Mitchell, Peoria, AZ.
Thanks so much for the comment. We’d love to hear more about your memories of your dad and his stories about his band - write us at dangerousdonrichfp@gmail.com!
Hey! I collect western Washington music memoribilia and have a couple with Tex Mitchell. I have a matchbook cover from The Playcato Ballroom with his name inside and an Old Barn Dance poster from Olympia

Hey Steve, I recently digitized a copy of the first 45 your dad cut in 1956 and It features him on vocals. I’d love to get the songs to you!
