I guess they couldn't find a singer that nite
Saw them live in Bakersfield in 1971
R. I. P. BUCK🎸🇨🇱 OWENS DON🎸🎻 RICH RALPH MOONEY TOM BRUMLEY
Thank you so much for preserving and showcasing this wonderful bits of history!!
I love that great steel guitar playing.
they were a big deal in the early 1960s when I was a kid....
And to think Dan Rich never made it to the country Hall of Fame
Don's guitar picking fit right in with Buck's music just like a hand in a glove.
It's kind of funny when buck covered his face because don hit a couple of wrong notes in the solo
These guys were ahead of their time! What talent , the entire group “ Had it going on “
There is only one Mr Telecaster……..Don Rich
FABULOUS, Thanks
Don Rich, the David Gilmour of country. And he learned some of that from BUCK!!!
What year was this recorded?
Tom Brumley is the best on the pedal Steele guitar and helped make Buck's sound in the 60's with those number #1 hits.
Steve Mitchell..... Jim spahr here... Tex Mitchell's Bass player's son... How are you.. ?? Where was this recorded...?
WHEN ENTERTAINERS DRESSED UP TO PLAY FOR AUDIENCES NOT LIKE NOWADAYS❤❤❤❤❤
Don rich was a killer!!! Damn son
Based on this performance, as well as other video and photos, Don seemed like a genuinely happy, joyous guy. Him and Clarence White, tragedy and loss so early in life.
..."nine straight number one songs..." and he holds up five fingers. It's a wonder Jimmy Dean was so successful.
When country music was country 🤠
Don Rich was my childhood hero. I was fascinated watching him sing and play on the Buck Owens Ranch Show and I still am today. Love watching him play. He didn't want to be a star, I guess, but he sure couldn't help standing out! Very glad to happen upon this video and glad his boys are doing well! Your dad is a legend!
I picked up a guitar after seeing Don Rich when I was a little kid. And the most important lesson I learned from him was to listen to and play all kinds of music. 🙌 💜 🎸
Before Buck hired Don to play fiddle, then also lead guitar, in the 'Buckaroos'.... Buck was the lead guitarist of a band, then became the lead vocalist, when the club owner fired the original vocalist.
American timeless music!
They are switching harmonies. Brilliant
I like Jimmy Dean. I love Buck and Don. Thanks for this.
This recording is pure perfection.
The bass drowned out the lead
That's awesome !
Don Rich......!!!!
I think Jimmy was impressed with Buck's high harmony...great video that takes me back, thank you!
I can't recall seeing Buck on a 12-string. Nice.
True.
Buck on a 12 string 👍
Amazing, right?! Thanks for watching.
Holy crap! Christmas done came early!
Glad you love it! Thanks for watching.
Fabulous ❤😊
Thanks for watching!
Great! Ray Price classic released my year of birth, 1959.
That's right! Thanks for watching.
Happy 65th, whenever that was.
@@dekelanson5280 Friday the 13th of March.
Buddy Rich was such aJERK,when he found out Willie was in a country band, ole Buddy Jerk would just put him down even though Willie was FINE DRUMMER.GO WILLIE.
Mike Nesmith of The Monkees was heavily influenced by Buck, thats where Mikes country influenced songs come from,Sunny Girlfriend,Papa Genes Blues,You Just Maybe The One,While I Cry,What Am I Doing Hangin Around and Good Clean Fun
I always LOVED BUCK and The Buckaroos on HEE HAW.
Sometimes DonRich and James Burton, play the same great melodies, and theres sure nothing wrong with that.
I actually like the sound.Go Buck and Don.
Their early sound was just great. Thanks for watching!
I never thought I would like country music. This is great.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Buck with a Martin Dreadnought, probably a D-2? He usually played Fenders exclusively. Nice all the same.
Buck’s mother bought him this guitar. I believe it was a Martin D-18 - I could be remembering that information wrong, though!
This is truly a rare video with the early harmony parts and without Willie and Tom...I love seeing these broadcasts, thank you!😊
Thanks for watching!
i love all the work you guys are doing, i follow on instagram to! keep up the good work
Thanks for watching!
Willie Cantù?
Willie hadn't joined quite yet! Mel King was the drummer for this lineup.
@ Yep.
Just before Willie and tom
@@jamieword8206 Yep.
So clean cut!!
Tremendous. As always.
Thanks for watching!
I sang this song acapella in the Tulsa County jail holding cell. A country music upbringing long haired California 21 year old. After the strip search they put me in the holding cell. Me being me I cut loose with Act Naturally. No I didn't do Okie From Muskogee ✌️
Outstanding! When?
What a great story. Thanks for watching!
@@lonestarbug June 9, 1975. While I was doing my time Eric Clapton was brought in for drunk driving. I was mopping the booking room floor. There is a picture in my archives bringing him in.
@ Shazam. Outstanding!
