If I was a store manager and people wanted to make youtube videos about all the cool stuff you could buy there, I'd be happy to have them do it! It's a freakin' free commercial for the store!
Right? I need to go get some paracord anyway, now I have a whole other list of stuff to grab. Those mechanic's picks, in particular. Those are a steal!
You've got to be careful with the HF "brass" brushes (as well.as other Chinesium "brass" brushes.) Sometimes they are brass-colored steel bristles. If you are counting on soft brass so, for example, you can attack rust spots without taking off the bluing and it's steel instead you might be doing some damage. Check those bristles with a magnet and if that "brass" sticks to the magnet it's really steel. A lot of "brass" fittings are really steel with brass coating. Many hinges, knobs, screws, and even those grommet kits can be steel imposters that will rust and stain your projects. Chinesium sneaky bastids.
HF should seriously get into tools specifically for firearms. They could probably deliver some cost-effective items and be real competitive to companies like Real Avid or Wheeler, etc.

Best comment 😂 Although I'm surprised any employees were at that Harborfreight... I swear you could roll out half the store using carts, dollies, and moving equipment sold at the store before anyone may notice 😂 Although that sucks and I'm pretty sure theft (along with inflation) was a large part of the price increases and fewer unrestricted 20% off coupons 🙄 What kind of methhead is stealing items with the absolute lowest resale value?! I wish my town had one, but we do have some cool family owned hardware stores that have a similar "we sell everything men want besides women" inventory 😂 One has a complete knitting/sewing/upholstery section next to the home furnishings if you already have the woman and need to distract her while you look at everything else 😉

The yellow ones make color less apparent, but accentuate any movement in your field of vision. that color also increases you time of vision in predawn or post sunset times. I know truck drivers who use them at low light times of day to make movement and objects more visible.
The plastic ammo cans and the "dri box" with the removable tray are great. The dri box is great for cleaning kit components. Also I have one of the HF wooden machinist tool boxes which is great for keeping gunsmithing tools like punch sets, pics hex bits and things like magnetic levels or torque drivers, trigger pull gauges and so forth in.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Over the years I've bought almost all of this stuff. I still have a lot of it. I built an AR pistol kit using an Apache case. Lower with 7.5 inch 5.56, 300 Blk and 7.62x39 uppers, all in a handy case. They used to have a hydraulic press that was useful for bending AK flat receiver plates. All the tools for milling 80% AR receivers, I got there. It wasn't as well built as the expensive tools, but it worked, and was cheap enough to replace when needed.
I’d recommend anyone new to building to buy from hf. And the best part is it’s a lot of the cheaper stuff that still work if you decide to continue so you’ll only have to upgrade a few things
I love your videos. Harbor Freight has some great values for perfectly good accessories. They should sponsor you not ask you to leave. I went there after I saw a video you made. You neglected to mention the loctite. It's $2.50 for blue or red, but they call it permanent (red) and the preferred semi permanent (blue). Half what it costs in the Big hardware store. Also tape is useful. Great job. The scissors at 99 cents is a great value too.
Ive had 4 for several years. $39 if i remember correctly and 15 for the 2 small ones. I keep a digital camera in one on patrol and my garmen in the other
I use the clam shell gun safe for my CCW in my car and for flying. I purchased and used the punch set to do work on my M1A. Pics are good for the price. The plastic ammo cans are good for the price but can have a poor seal if stacked or pushed together.
There plastic ones also have weak handles. I found I cannot fill them with rolled coins, loose pistol rounds or lead ingots, because the handles break. The Flambeau ones are much better made.
I grabbed one of those big apache 9800 cases on black friday for $100 and a few of the metal ammo cans for $10, definitely some pretty solid stuff for the price.
The only problem with Apache cases is that pick apart foam. It comes apart into 1/2" cubes after a couple of months. Other than that they are strong and the weather seal works well.
Step 1 - Come to Big Dick Ballistics Step 2 - Complain about the language Find the anomaly in that. Keep up the good work. Do not censor yourself. Ever.
Finally someone that thinks like me. Save on gear at harbor freight and use the $$ on more firearms. It just makes sense. But you are probably pissing off NRA.
You walked right past the auto mechanics long reach clamps! Those things are great! Even when you're not doing gun related stuff. I have pulled obstructions out of drains, garbage disposals, a kids tooth once, endless uses!
I remember I got into a small argument with a dude at the range about eye pro. He rented us the ear pro and I said I needed to buy glasses he said I already have some. I said I wanted some anyway. He said "you don't need them." I said "but I want them." A week prior to this interaction I didn't use eye pro and I had a piece of brass get in between my glasses and face at the same range. I asked him if he was deaf from not using ear pro and that I wanted to buy some glasses so he sold them to me finally. What a prick. Use eye pro gents even if you have prescription lenses.
I use that bag as a range bag as well. Cleaning kits, ammo, hearing/ear protection and whatever pistols I’m taking all go in. Makes a world of a difference grabbing a bag that’s pre-kitted than trying to remember everything then get to the range and realize you’ve forgotten ammo. This system is undefeated. Get back from range day and replace anything that needs it and throw the bag in the corner until next time.
I'm a cheap bastard. I've used a 15 year old HF muffs with some 3m plugs from home depot. The muffs are pretty low pro. Worked fine for 556 and 308. I dont see them at HF anymore.
Tidbit on hf ammo cans. There better built than Walmart steel ammo cans. For while I only bought the Walmart cans cause they were $4 cheaper than hf. I bought a hf ammo can and popped it open and immediately saw a quality difference especially with the lid hinges and lid gasket. Walmart cans gasket was rolled and wouldn't lay down flat or locked in like the hf ammo cans seals are. If your going for cheap but super quality ammo cans go for the hf cans. I own 16 cans total so far, yes fully loaded with magic boom jelly beans. The house I live in is old and has temp swing in it like mother nature with bpd on a bad day. Everytime I pop open a can it has that nice air suction sound like a fresh ammo crate opening.

Big D, I like your video. I have purchased several of the items you featured. That magnetic parts dish, for example is just one of those things that once you have one or more, you’ll ask yourself why you never got one sooner. I have bought some of the cooler looking ($3.99) safety glasses. I should check the ratings. Never paid attention to the ear pro, but…. I recently started teaching CCHL classes and will say that Harbor Freight Gun storage products are going to appeal to a lot more people who live pay check to pay check but still want to be part of the 2A community not to mention have the ability to defend themselves and family from the garbage the world is currently dragging in. Not to mention my own bottom line. So I appreciate your video and certainly hope that the revenues at the store where you were filming increase and the manager who kicked you out (and area manager) is aware that Big D sent ‘em.
@donaldoehl7690 in my experience the magnetism that happens to the small parts and tools isn’t an issue unless you’re dealing with something electronic.
They have all the tools you need to build/mill an ar lower or p80 Glock. Tools to stipple your pistol grips, punch sets, mallets, vices, all kinds of fun shit. Drones for moving target practice.
Yep he didn’t get a chance to dive deeper into the electronic stuff like dremels, engravers, heat guns, soldering irons etc. but it’s a lot more there for sure
just to add to... Z87 is a rating given for safety glasses. its called the drop ball test, they take the lens and drop a bearing through a pipe on it from about 5ft if the lens doesnt break its Z87 rated. If you want to step it up try and find some that are thicker polycarb lenses, ive seen them stop 22 rds. Im a retired ABOC certified Optician is why I know these things. But yeah the thicher the better for polycarb lenses, its the same stuff in a lot of bullet proof glass
Honestly one person can’t do this video. He just gave us like a starter kit but it’s way more he didn’t even get a chance to get into so do your video as a part 2 to his so to speak. Just pick up where he left off

The manager, must need a retraining. How do you, not just turn down free advertising, but throw the free advertising out? Not budlight level marketing disaster, but not smart.
The pick set is really god and universally handy. I always leave with a parts tray and pick set. I'm thinking about getting the smaller of the two shot polishers they sell. Still waiting for a store in San Mateo County so I don't have to cross a bridge to visit a store.

Ty much sir. I should have asked permission first. Not a big deal. I was being kind of loud. It’s good to have your ammo stored separate from your boom sticks to maximize storage and in the event you get burglarized you don’t get your bangs taken with the ammo. That’s just my 2 cents.
I work HVAC and half my tools are free Harbor freight cause they work and if I break or loose a tool ? I just go get another cheap set at Harbor freight instead of being outta hundreds im only out of $30 . Can't loose shopping there.
Great video! I wasn't aware that Harbor Freight sold firearm accessories. Funny part is, early in the video I was wondering if you cleared recording in the store with management- but uh oh. lol
It's a business that has their own cameras recording you and they are open to the public so there is no expectation of privacy. Funny that he had been walking around the store for how long and nobody said anything to him but when he gets to the front of the store they give him hassle.
The best oart about HF is rhe "discounts". Never pay full price. I sont even shoo there often, but the weekly flyers always have deep discounts. And you can get additional subscriber coupons. I got that large rifle case on sale for $99. The small one was $16.99. The large metal ammo cans for $11.99 ea. Thiae were all flyer deals. Slap an extra 10-20% coupon on those of the stars align and its even better.

You neglected to mention the loctite. It's $2.50 for blue or red, but they call it permanent (red) and the preferred semi permanent (blue). Half what it costs in the Big hardware store. Also tape is useful. Great job. The scissors at 99 cents is a great value too.
I did pick up a gun case from H.F. and I must admit it is very solid and rain proof. Still covered in mud from a couple years ago.
🤙🏻🤙🏻
There’s good deals to be had for sure
The only problem with Apache cases is that pick apart foam. It comes apart into 1/2" cubes after a couple of months. Other than that they are strong and the weather seal works well.
@@Pipizzakitchenhot glue when you are ready
Plasti-dip or spray the foam once you get your desired configuration.
Can't beat em for the price. I got a harbor freight one block from.my house
Dude. "12 inches, like what's between my legs." 😂 I never even thought to check out Harbor Freight for my accessory needs, but you've opened my eyes.
👍🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸
Tried to thumbs up more than once. Apparently that's not an option. Awesome video
Ty!!!!!
Step 1 - Come to Big Dick Ballistics
Step 2 - Complain about the language
Find the anomaly in that.
Keep up the good work. Do not censor yourself. Ever.
Ty much! 🫡🇺🇸
Don't forget the cheap-ass spring clamps for quick attachment of targets.
Good one brother totally overlooked that, I have a dozen and use them often!🤙🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
Never trust electronic locks on safes. Ask anyone who had a Liberty Safe.
"You dont want hand cancer" 😂 No sir I do not want hand cancer.
👍🏻
Excellent video. I got some of my stuff at HF. My tool box, range bag and gun/mag box is a 3 piece RIGID stack-able tool caddy from Home Depot.
Have you seen the new flex brand at Lowe’s? Kinda pricey but pretty cool. But I’ll be honest, I’m a Ridgid fan too
Finally someone that thinks like me.
It's pronounced Nine not "Noine".
Their amp cans are great. I use them for ammo storage, cleaning kits and the tactical one for building tools
🤙🏻
I remember I got into a small argument with a dude at the range about eye pro. He rented us the ear pro and I said I needed to buy glasses he said I already have some. I said I wanted some anyway. He said "you don't need them." I said "but I want them."
A week prior to this interaction I didn't use eye pro and I had a piece of brass get in between my glasses and face at the same range. I asked him if he was deaf from not using ear pro and that I wanted to buy some glasses so he sold them to me finally. What a prick.
Use eye pro gents even if you have prescription lenses.
Always!
I get their metal ammo cans. Also, got their rolling tool bag as my range bag. Pack everything up and roll it around. Makes going to the range easy.
Awesome!
Big D comments had me cracking up, not your average tool video haha you just got another sub
🤙🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻
Thanks, Enjoyed the info and humor. Been a HF customer for decades..
I'm a cheap bastard. I've used a 15 year old HF muffs with some 3m plugs from home depot. The muffs are pretty low pro. Worked fine for 556 and 308. I dont see them at HF anymore.
HF club membership comes with plenty of discounts/coupons.
I actually bought some of their ammo cans ad cleaning brushes. Place is great for everything else too.
100%!
I've been a deputy/ officer for 31 years! I don't work the street any more but i still carry a lot of the stuff you named in my unit ! I have the Hardy gloves( mechanic, leather work, welding) , the cloth tool bags, the flashlights( I have rechargeable but like to have a couple for battery back up), ammo cans, 4 pound sledge, bolt cutters and pry bar! I enjoyed your our video it was very informative!
Ty much brother! Stay safe!
This was a funny one,new sub here man,and I dropped a like!!! 👊👊👊👊
Ty much!🤙🏻🤙🏻
Can’t believe you promote harbor freight then they kick you out and slap an add for themselves on your video 😂
3:17 amen to that one brother
🤙🏻
When you trust your hearing protection to harbor freight you deserve what you get.
I said WHEN YOU TRUST YOUR HEARING PROTECTION TO HARBOR FREIGHT YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET!
STOP YELLING AT ME DAD!
Hf sells 3m as well as other big brands 😂
I bought case tumblers and ultrasonic cleaners for my reloading.
I can’t believe I overlooked that! Yep I get my media there as well!
@@bigdickballistics
They kicked you out before you got to that aisle. Understandable . 😁
The rock tumbler makes a great ball mill, also. I use it with 14mm florists marbles from dollar tree.
just remember you get what you pay for....
You’re 100% right, for new shooters on a budget or cheap fucks this is a start, just one way of many!
Po' folks have guns, too.
They also had some legit work benches too for around $150-$250
Ty! No worries I’ve been back there and no issues! Keep up the good work preserving the 2nd amendment!
Magnetic trays can magnetize parts & tools.
@donaldoehl7690 in my experience the magnetism that happens to the small parts and tools isn’t an issue unless you’re dealing with something electronic.
I have been lubing all my firearms with Vaseline since 2006.
Walmart / 20z for $5
They have all the tools you need to build/mill an ar lower or p80 Glock.
They also have a good knockoff FAT wrench. It's almost as much as the original, though. I think it's$80.
Their cheapo drill press does great on ÀR lowers
just to add to...
Lol, I have been planning a Harbor freight shopping video for gun stuff…….you beat me to it!
Great minds think alike! Do it either way!
Honestly one person can’t do this video. He just gave us like a starter kit but it’s way more he didn’t even get a chance to get into so do your video as a part 2 to his so to speak. Just pick up where he left off
Get your gun accessories at harbor freight if you don't care about long term results.
Cheap tools can be useful but only when they are actually useful.
Sometimes you can only live in the moment
You would think that they would love the free publicity and give you a discount instead of kicking you out.
I’ve gone back multiple times already and they totally forgot who I was haha
@@bigdickballisticsDeep down she wanted you to
lol it’s never the owner always someone who acts like they own it that kicks people out
good Video , Good ole Long Island Lingo . That's how we Talk, a lot of cry babies on here. Subscribed
Strong island ✊🏻
Well, that manager is not a good manager , boss man, better think twice on who they hire lots of money there lost by kicking you out . because you just reached out and advertised for harbor freight to thousands of humans which brings revenue to Harbor freight., thanks buddy , 🤙
Not breaking a sweat, Ty for the ❤️
The middle finger to the $16.99 metal ammo can 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Guys you don’t need a metal can.
“Taking a friend to the range for the first time that’s a cheap mfer”……that was hilarious.
It’s about time someone in LI has a gun information channel. I’m from Wantagh buddy good work.
Ty much!
Love the humor man! Subscribed!
The manager, must need a retraining. How do you, not just turn down free advertising, but throw the free advertising out? Not budlight level marketing disaster, but not smart.
This is excellent info. And, the best part is that you don't ramble on and on. You go straight into the interesting info. Thank you sir.
Ty much!
Bro you're funny @ss sh!t!!! loved this video and I'm subscribed and locked in... 🔥🔥🔥
you forgot about the rock tumbler and ultrasonic cleaner !!!
I bought that same set of 4 picks for $1200.. They're Snap-On.
Seems a little speedy. You could have gotten them for $1000.00 if you shopped!😅😂
The pick set is really god and universally handy. I always leave with a parts tray and pick set. I'm thinking about getting the smaller of the two shot polishers they sell. Still waiting for a store in San Mateo County so I don't have to cross a bridge to visit a store.
Thanks for the advice. 🎉
Just had a HF open about 4 miles away...and conveniently located near Tractor Supply (another great place to find good stuff at good prices).....Ill be going to the HF Soon ! thanks !
I got a Harbor Freight, Tractor Supply and a Rural King near me! Every time I leave the house the wife looks at me suspiciously 😆
I support the police and thank you for what you do every day. That said I can't imagine why the manager would kick you out. I would rather thing she be thankful for the free advertisement. I should get some of those ammo cans. I have all my 9mm, 22lr, and 20 gauge crammed into my small gun safe and it's getting pretty full
Ty much sir. I should have asked permission first. Not a big deal. I was being kind of loud. It’s good to have your ammo stored separate from your boom sticks to maximize storage and in the event you get burglarized you don’t get your bangs taken with the ammo. That’s just my 2 cents.
Those cases are great! The pistol cases and the rifle boxes are great!
I work HVAC and half my tools are free Harbor freight cause they work and if I break or loose a tool ? I just go get another cheap set at Harbor freight instead of being outta hundreds im only out of $30 . Can't loose shopping there.
RESPECT!
FIRST VIDEO EVER,
GOOD SHIT. IM SUBBED NOW!
also the 50cal cans can be bought for $12 when on sale. i pick up surplus ones when i can but most of the time can beat harbor freight cans
Bruh… I just subbed because of the name of your channel. 🤣💀

Thank you for enlisting in the big dick battalion!
@@bigdickballistics amen to that brother!
Lol, that 12 inch comment caught me off guard.

Great video! I wasn't aware that Harbor Freight sold firearm accessories.
Funny part is, early in the video I was wondering if you cleared recording in the store with management- but uh oh. lol
I don't know why they would mind him filming in there. But people get weird when cameras come out.
It's a business that has their own cameras recording you and they are open to the public so there is no expectation of privacy. Funny that he had been walking around the store for how long and nobody said anything to him but when he gets to the front of the store they give him hassle.
I bought 35 sets of those picks for every operator in my department. They are the most valuable piece of kit we have at work
🤣
I love this, thanks for the update. Subscribe now
0:50 😂 I had to subscribe 😂😂
🤙🏻
The best oart about HF is rhe "discounts". Never pay full price. I sont even shoo there often, but the weekly flyers always have deep discounts. And you can get additional subscriber coupons. I got that large rifle case on sale for $99. The small one was $16.99. The large metal ammo cans for $11.99 ea. Thiae were all flyer deals. Slap an extra 10-20% coupon on those of the stars align and its even better.
I have that Union safe from HF. I absolutely love it. I’m going to start getting the tools I need from here on out from Harbor Freight
Right on
Fuckin BDB first time here so I SUBBED your channel. Thanks for the info.
5:46 I came back here to say I just picked up the Ranger ear muffs today during my lunch break! Thanks again for making this!
No prob!
@@bigdickballistics Picked up the ammo can and a pair of glasses too lol. The glasses weren't big enough to fit over my regular glasses, but the set of ears worked great! I have some range footage on my latest shorts of some 3D printed guns I finally go to fire when I went to the range.
I bought the spotting scope. Save your money, binos are better.
