  • The Leyton House CG901B is tested prior to the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012. Gary Ward puts the car though it's paces on Sywell Aerodromes hard runway. This is a typical shakedown prior to an event to ensure that all the cars systems are functioning. The test flagged up that the car needed a touch more rear ride-height in its current aero configuration. The fitted rear springs are 3500LB which gives an idea how much downforce this car makes on a smooth surface.

    It's so amazing to see a car like this being taken care of so well. I'm glad that there are organizations out there that understand that vehicles such as these are pieces of history and that they need to be protected, but also that cars were designed to be driven, so they have no business being kept behind velvet ropes in museums for eternity either.

    Amazing footage...They weren't Joking when they say this LH designed by Adrian Newey got the smallest cockpit in an F1 car...Ivan Cappelli used to have sever Lang Cramps after each race. Great to see that beautiful F1 been taking care off...

    Beautiful car, and absolutely beautiful sound! Might be riding just a bit to low for the under tray.

    Given the chance, I'd rather have a go of this than a modern Grand Prix car!

    ...and this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I can't be bothered with contemporary F1. Grew up on this stuff, and current F1 is just garbage. Legacy F1 forever!

    Hi is this the Hewland gearbox?
    What is the throttle return like on H&T?
    Can you double declutch easily using that small lever?

    Compared to today's F1 cars - the steering wheel is positively naked!

    Anyone knows how the stick shifting works here? Is it a H system like in most passenger cars? Looks like at one point he made a shifting mistake, leaving a gear out, didn't he?

    • @poucxs9246
      @poucxs9246 8 лет назад +1

      I think it's an H patern, around 1:40 you see his hand on the left side of the shifter to push it outward in the right part of the patern (5th or 6th gear). If it was sequental then he would have only pushed or pulled it.

    • @F-Man

      It’s an H-pattern, 6-speed. The gate is very small, so the shift throw is incredibly short.

      It had no synchromesh, so he has to rev up to change down
