I have gazed out my hotel balcony late into the night and have said to myself “man I would not want that job” but I do appreciate what you do because I love to ski 🎿
I say man I want that job
“We aim for 80mph corduroy”
“Winch anchors drilled into rock”
Epic👏👏
Few things better than that fresh AM cord keep up the great work boys

"I don't know what I'd do if I didn't groom" I'm crazy till snow mak'n stops, and I can groom again. truth.
I haven't groomed , but I have been on a maintenance team at a ski area in the N. East . I do love the ski life , and miss it terribly
I groom our local cross-country ski trails using a Skandic to pull a Ginzu - love it. Very therapeutic and a great way to get outdoors.
Now that's the grooming life. Steep stuff is fun once in a while, but I hated doing it every night with the nearest person close to a quarter mile away. Learned it quickly, but I had to see myself out with decisions made by the management and up.
Next level marketing by Jackson Hole
Great video. Awesome machines and people.
People taking pride of their job are a treasure for any society!
Nice and humble people . We do appreciate your work gents
Perfectly groomed mustache!
Never knew about this, never crossed my mind , thanks that was interesting
Anyone here with this on their recommended?
Yes, the video was also suggested to me. If you are interested in snow groomers, I can recommend my new video about them. I would be very happy to receive your feedback, as I'm just starting out with RUclips.
The people who run these groomers are true artist. Why do you pay $200 bucks a pop, endless groom runs is the why! Thank God for the Intermediate Skier!!
Groomers, really appreciate you thanks. Better to stay off the groomers and just ski the trees if you can....
I bought a split board to ski backcountry. Fresh powder
The trees are fun
I just spent 2 days up in Washington and there was no groomed runs at all. Tons of fresh snow but every run was completely rutted out from side to side. I’m going to be in Jackson for 2 days next week and I’m so looking forward to riding a world class hill like that.👍
I’m from Washington and yeah it sucks lmao, Stevens is alright but Mission Ridge is the best, to bad they are rebuilding their main chair to the top of the mountain.
Because skiing groomers is boring. Nobody goes to WA mountains to stay on piste.
Baker was my favorite when I lived there
Thanks to these guys!
With out a doubt my dream job.
They've come a LONG way. My first winter in JH was 1976-77, and the "grooming" was a joke. Not unusual to find a two foot high curb between tractor runs. Most of the mountain went untouched anyway. It was awesome. Not that some good roy isn't a treat, but I'm glad I was there when I was. Left in '86. 25 million vertical in the bag.
and no one miss ya, old fart ; ), times change.
@@gregknipe8772 What a Dick UR
Never skied so I didn't even know this was a thing! Interesting
As a kid I always wanted to be a groomer and live in a ski town. I guess now that I'm old and my body is broken (40s) I would still like it to. I ran a dozer for a summer and loved it.
Do er up man
Go do it mate
If you’re getting younger, maybe tomorrow is your day. If not, apply right now. Go for it!!
a mans got to groom.
I’m glad i became a snowboarder a deep hole of opportunity and experiences I will enjoy the most of
Casually talking about the winch anchor system omg😱 can we get into depth like I need answers
Anybody else think freshly groomed snow is so satisfying
At first I wondered where all the dogs were🤔
so what's the story behind corduroy?? was expecting at least on bit of history 🤷♀️
What is the pay for these amazing guys? Just a curiosity :)
The unsung heroes!
DREAM JOB
I learned to skii when I was like 5 or 6 at Jackson hole P.S. they make the best hot cocoa. 😀
So what’s the story?
The term grooming means something different in the UK, I'm a skier so I understand. But the men keep admitting they are groomers is kind of funny to hear 😂
Dont mean to be rude what so ever but what is pay like i looked it up but no luck is it the better the resort better pay or is there a minimum
challenge my choice bro. the money I$ in the oil field$. don't do this job unle$$ you like to $ki fre$h pow when you get off work. if it wa$ lucrative, there never be opening$.
It’s low. Usually slightly above minimum wage in most countries around the world

the real champs
But wait. Why the corduroy?
You don’t ski or ride do you?
you go faster and have more control at the same time
I was just at Jackson and saw nothing resembling corduroy. On-piste was 100% either bumps or hardpack. Off-piste was decent 1 of the 3 days as long as you didn't drop below mid-mountain.
Got down twice last year. It was as good as I've seen at any other mountain both weekends. Probably hit close to 100 kph on Gros Ventre.
The title suggests something else...
nothing like good corduroy..
Do your groomers have problems with ice building up on wiper blades? We use heated wiper blades from www.everblades.com
Ben Halonen i saw that happen. It gets annoying. We had a cat that it was so cold outside, that ice built up over then intake. It was not pleasant skiing the next day because it was so cold
👌👍👍👏👏👏
I would like to ride in a Snowcat some night
SOLITUDE GROOMER!!
I loved solitude until they sold it and then the icon pass. Now it's like every other generic resort. But you guys do a great job. I'm jealous.
Cool cinematography, but kinda lacking in terms of 'the story behind'.
Discord mods be like:
Ever see any sasquatch tracks botching fresh corduroy?
I'd guess they telemark.
Hi from 3Dtoys4U. We 💚 ❄❄❄

How about off piste??
piste off, pal. we save that shit for the groomers!
They close lifts in the middle of the afternoon...? Holy lazy batman... Never been anywhere that a lift closed before 9, usually 10... Bet they still charge for a full day lift pass despite not have the work ethic to work a whole day...
how ignurt
"funnest"
What a pity. All that fresh powder snow ruined!
ski elsewhere brah
Groomers are fun too. JH has plenty of terrain.
Grooming is one of the biggest parts of a ski areas ability to open. If you can't appreciate it, I suggest you abandon resorts and hike for every lap.
You mogul killers!!!
Anyone not like corduroy at all. No offense to these guys because they are truly some of the hardest workers out there. But I don’t understand why they need those grooves when they could just flatten it. I feel like that would feel better.
You do know what a tiller does, right? It breaks it up and puts air in it so that it will flatten out the rest of the way, following the blade. The combs finish the job and having that surface and surface area is desirable.
Flat hard snow is not better. The grooves allow your skis something to cut into. Powder and soft snow could be better for some folks. But when it gets harder, the grooves are much better.
Honestly don’t like snowboarding groomed snow
Lol wtf is he saying. "Its a pretty stout winch program" as if everybody knows wtf he is talking boyt
Bro groomers suck they ruin all the powder. No fun bruh
hahaha. I love how muricans are "proud" of their "hard work". they even made a "name" for "their" proffession. austrian ski resorts say hi.
This is humorous. If you think that this job is easy and not stressful, you're quite a joke.
@@BngRip4Jesus yes the job is hard, no, it's not art.
