I remember my first trip up on the JH tram. Huge 24" dump overnight, the air was electrified on that tram with everyone absolutely buzzing waiting for some steep 'n deep on their first run of the morning as we flew over the untracked couloir. Tram operator comes on the intercom and makes the announcement regarding avy conditions and expert terrain yadda yada. Operator calls out "If you don't know..." and the whole tram shouts back "DON'T GO!".
He hangs up the intercom and Black Sabbath's "Children Of the Grave" blares for 10 seconds until the doors open and the arctic blast of the howling wind drowns it out.
That first run down is still seared into my brain. I will never forget it
