Im a sucker for TMP era ships and I quite like this design (neo-constitution is a silly name for a class however) but I'm not super buying this is a intentional retro design, would have been better to just have this ship named something else and have it be an older design IMO.

I knew there was a reason I didn't quite like it. The proportions look sort of off to me and the shape doesn't quite match the rest of the ship design.
It's got to be Riker no? Like I was confused with Seven being the commander meeting Riker and Picard but not the Captain? Bradward should be about 30-something at this point in the timeline so it should be pretty easy to slot Jack Quaid into live-action on the Titan-A as a 2 or 2.5 pip Command Officer that already knows Riker. That would really make Lower Decks canon (for casual viewers) without much narrative fuss. Literally all they would have to do is relieve Boimler from Night Crew command as a throw-away scene. A nerd can dream (of Romulan Motorcycle Gangs).
@Withershin Boimler would be in his 40s. Lower Decks is early 2380s and Bradward would have been early 20s at that time. Picard season 2 is set 20 years after LDs first season. Boimler could be a full commander by that point if he became more of a career officer in the intervening years.
Riker was retired already in Picard season 1, he and Deanna were on that planet, I can't remember the name with their daughter so he came back to lead the armada as a favor in guessing. Just salt and pepper jack Quaid's hair a bit, and there you go, he's 45.😁

I'd like to see a Galaxy-Class ship or even a Sovereign-Class one (one appearing on screen for 5 seconds doesn't count), and without all the "It's really shiny and reflective so that means it's the future!" stuff they keep doing in this franchise. Go back to how things looked in TNG. The sets looked way better then.
It sounds like if there's a new hero ship which could likely have a new captain that the final season of Picard may be setting up another spin off show featuring the new ship and crew.
The Titan-A looks like something at least partially rebuilt from old starship components like some of the Dominion War fleet. The saucer could indeed be built from the spaceframe of an old Constitution or Miranda class. When I saw those Stargazer sets on Picard, I knew they weren't going to build something like that and only use them once
Is the ship supposed to be rebuilt or reconstructed from an older leftover, maybe mothballed, hull? Or is it entirely newly-built, but for some strange reason according to the design philosophy of a couple of generations ago...sorta like a resto-mod classic Mustang or something, but with a modern engine, brakes, tires, etc.?

After hearing the Neo-Constitution Class has a reinforced neck makes me glad that Starfleet finally did something about that vulnerable weak spot as it was because of the neck was the reason why the Constitution Refit Class was decommissioned in the late 2290's.

How did you manage to make this news sound so... sensual... not even in a creepy way either. Is there an EPS conduit near here because it's getting a little hot.
i love it though im not too sure on the lump above the main deflector. just seems like it has no character and just a huge solid lifeless lump. that and also the huge array of impulse engines on the back of the saucer section. maybe 2 large ones and the 2 side ones would look cleaner but it just looks way too thick. apart from that im loving the overall design. its going backwards a bit from the sleek profiles of the ships such as intrepid and sovereign a bit. ud expect this design to be put before the sovereign in a timeline due to going backwards in design. but overall im very happy with the ship and hope we get to see plenty of action with it :D shes a mighty fine ship captain
Regardless what everyone says, I think this ship is a beauty and after Season two with the Stargazer, they seem to finally thought about the incident in Season one where every Ship was the same (even tho I think they wanted to have the possibility to make it as cheap as possible so if the series faild they didnt have much loss through copying the Ship) but the Titan-A has such a Nostalgic Starfleet like look and its really awesome, Im excited for the last season >.
All the starfleet starships in STP are too "busy" looking. For instance, Enterprise -A had two small impulse engines. It didn't need the entire back of the saucer section to be impulse engines. These ships are the farthest thing from elegant or sleek.
My hope is that they end this series on Enterprise F or G. To me that would be the perfect send off of the Next Generation cast. I think Titan will have to be used for half the season, but pray for a Enterprise. Also I'd like to see an Starfleet ship with Borg additions.
Look how far the helm and navigation consoles are from the command chairs on the bridge. The captain is going to be yelling,, "Make it so!" and the crew is going to be yelling back, "Fake it joe? WHAT? WE CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
I am glad that they reinforced the neck, but I hope it has an ejection option like the original 'Connie.' The airport looking path on the body leading to the neck just looks weird. oh, btw, the rear of the excelsior class was said by the ship's designer to be transwarp engines.
For me the movie era starship design are the best in Star Trek hands down. The only problem is the bridge is way to busy. All the stations have way to many displays. I love The Wrath of Khan bridge look.
I don't think it's pretty, but that doesn't mean it's ugly and not cool. I think the Titan A looks like a ship ready for combat and getting it's hands dirty xD

So it's rare for me to fall immediately in love with a Starfleet design. That's not to say that I find them ugly; I just take some issues with certain parts of each ship but I eventually learn to like them. I've been watching Star Trek for ages and the Enterprise-E was the first ship that made me sit right up and take notice. The next was the Walker class from STD; so cool and original with its bridge on the ventral side rather than dorsal. And now here's the Titan. I love it. Tough and solid but also has that classic explorer feel. I can see a crew spending the majority of their careers on this class, just exploring beyond the borders of the Federation.
Its a cool design inside and out. Maybe it's just me but, the interior also looks more sterile. I know this isn't a galaxy class with large amounts of families on board. But I do miss that carpeting and wood trim. Curious to see what other things this class will be able to do. Saucer sep?

Yah, uhm, loving Star Trek doesn't mean to love all of the freaking ideas they pull out the curiosity hat... ...this ship does not make sense, I would think that they would be able to build a more sleek design in later centuries, more elegant and streamy but nonetheless sturdier than the old heavy designs. TV and movie design you have to love it..... Since there is no drag in space you do not need the aerodynamic designs.. The Borg Cube is the most effective use of space. but i do love the new design it looks great... the shuttle design is so old school and pedestrian that needs a new slick upgrade as well.... something in the DS9 Realm would be an improvement the reliant looked slick and had just enough systems to make it more effective...
She has ball turrets. I hope she is the Titan-A but from 50 years ago and they steal this old ship for their mission. Seeing as Picard's lore has been paper thin I expect I will be wrong. I would love them to be doing a smart bait and switch here. But it would be nice for this to be an old refit they are stealing and Seven is actually in command of the Stargazer.
imo Borg have the best ship design. Since aerodynamics isnt an issue in space for ultimate strength so that the Ship doesnt break apart.. a cube or sphere works best.
Favorite bridge of all the franchise? I think I like Voyager best. It seems the most functional. And I like that it's dimly lit. I really dislike this bridge. Way too busy and bright. If I had to work there I'd get headaches.
I wish they had this design on 1987-1982. NEO-Constitution Ships are much sleeker and better proportiobed than the Galaxy Class Ships. I would LOVE to see better lighting on these shows. A lot of scenes are underexposed. But as far as NEOs are concerned - Well Done!!
Good morning ZephysVoice, I am pleased with the look of the ship. It has a nice mix of the older and NEWER features, LIKE ALWAYS THANKS for sharing you thoughts on this topic.
be nice if it has the Armor like voyager did at the end, since Romulas are pretty much apart of Starfleet for the most part put cloaking on it. Also i want to see the make a new show in this time line little after the end of picard and have the main ship for the show be a ship built being a mix of Romulan and Starfleet tech with a little borg slapped in.
I love this design by bill but it no way looks like a newer successor to Ricker TITAN, What did you say about the windows on the outer edge of the saucer "fake holographic windows" seroiusly WTF! NEO means New Engine Option lol.
Two things that interest me is that the location of the front torpedo bays look like they are directly behind the sensor pod that is underneath the saucer section. Thinking that if they fire, it'll hit itself. To me it looks odd. All so, with the nacelle's and the bussard collectors. They look vertically wider/taller then most, like it is two incorporated into one nacelle. Due to the fact if you look at the orange bussard part, it has two separate light sources. Other than that, it is beautiful and very not military but utilitarian style for major emergencies.
The thing that puzzles me is that the design is an update of the Shangri-La class, not the Constitution class. It doesn't make sense for this to be a Constitution III, but a Shangri-La II.
I am honestly surprised that the 'Vengeance' (from Star Trek 'Into Darkness) wasn't shown.... after all, it was - the ultimate warship of the time, designed to operate with a crew of one, if needed - no families. That ship was designed specifically for combat.... but hang on, the 'new' USS Titan looks remarkably similar to the design of the Vengeance...?
I'm sorry but it's the final season of Picard, you can't end it without a ship called Enterprise especially the E in it Personally I think Riker is saying Hello Beautiful to her ❤️
you would not say "hello beautiful" to a new ship, the jury is out on the Connie III Class Titan, Rike is saying that to a ship class he knows very well. it is a gorgeous ship though.
How many different ship models do they need? I get they were stung by the criticism from S1 finale that they just cut and pasted the same ship ... but now every single ship is some bespoke design.
the only differenece that the Loknar class in the TOS and TMP eras was a Torpedo cruiser type design were as this Neo connie was most likely designed for more various advanced roles in mind most likely for support and multi purpose roles infact as far as utilizing the use of the qantum slipstream drive would be a sign of just how tough this titan actualy is as much as is Luna class predacessor was.
Can't afford to watch StarTrek : Picard ; however, I have a friend who updates me on whats going on. The Titan-A does look very impressive however ; each ship must undergo a baptism of fire to see how the ship handles actual combat situations and danger ! Simulations are fine , but I'm curious on 🤔 it's actual performance. Considering these ships fly in space, why do almost all Sci-Fi spacecraft always have fins on their structures ? For temporarily entering atmospheres I could see ; however, most ships aren't swimming in space ! Maybe the fins are used for maneuvering and stability perhaps 🤔?
Gonna start saving up now so I can buy this in Star Trek Online when it comes out in a year. And nobody's gonna mention the 2 nacelled Sagan behind the Titan?
I love how the saucer section is like that of the Constitution-class whilst the warp nacelles is like that of a TNG-era ship.
Looks more like Star Trek Online nacelles to me, but your point still stands.
I love starships, I mean any and all starships. I don't understand people griping about ugly ships, I love them all.
Glad you pointed out the most important part of the nacelle. Collecting them buzzards is integral to the ability to travel at warp l, after all. 😃

The Titan looks very similar to the Vengeance (into darkness) Although in Kirk's alternate timeline it too had a "motion picture" look to it IMO
It looks like the USS vengeance, mixed with the enterprise A
Beautiful shop I love it. Classic yet modern. Sleek yet though
I like her. Has good genes, so to speak. Harkens back to the photogenic and elegant lines of the original Connies.
Thanks
Welcome!
take a look at the 41 second mark... that is a Vesta class on the bridge panel 😁😆
imo Borg have the best ship design. Since aerodynamics isnt an issue in space for ultimate strength so that the Ship doesnt break apart.. a cube or sphere works best.
NEED a model kit of the Titan-A and the Sagan class Stargazer!!! 🙏
Wish they'd used the Luna class Titan. This new ship looks like a pretty bad kitbash. Oh well.
It looks awesome. Beautiful design
would love to see a show with exploration being its main theme. sick of war crap, love danger etc but SPACE LETS SEE BEYOND.
A runabout and Excelsior had a baby I guess. I don't know, it's pretty weird looking. Just my opinion.
Will the bridge consoles still spew rocks when the ship is under attack?
Captain Harriman in Generation's was Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
I love this design by bill but it no way looks like a newer successor to Ricker TITAN, What did you say about the windows on the outer edge of the saucer "fake holographic windows" seroiusly WTF!
NEO means New Engine Option lol.
This ship is a fan design called the Shangri-La class look up track yards Shangri-La class on RUclips
YOUVE GOT A COOL SOUNDING VOICE!
I'm sorry but it's the final season of Picard, you can't end it without a ship called Enterprise especially the E in it
Personally I think Riker is saying Hello Beautiful to her ❤️
Curious if it will have a detachable saucer section or if they have given up on that "feature" ....
you would not say "hello beautiful" to a new ship, the jury is out on the Connie III Class Titan, Rike is saying that to a ship class he knows very well. it is a gorgeous ship though.
Yeah, but nobody has yet said, "How do they generate gravity?"
Really hoped picard takes command over enterprise e one last time
I LIKE !! Finally, a ship that deserves the name Enterprise but guess we'll have to settle for the Titan A
Love the New Titan-A ship!!!! I like all of the new starships!
How many different ship models do they need? I get they were stung by the criticism from S1 finale that they just cut and pasted the same ship ... but now every single ship is some bespoke design.
The image you identified as the original Loknar Class Titan is a Phobos Class ship. The Loknar Class was a TOS era ship
the only differenece that the Loknar class in the TOS and TMP eras was a Torpedo cruiser type design were as this Neo connie was most likely designed for more various advanced roles in mind most likely for support and multi purpose roles infact as far as utilizing the use of the qantum slipstream drive would be a sign of just how tough this titan actualy is as much as is Luna class predacessor was.
Should of just gone and brought back the Enterprise E but in her refit configuration. That OR JUST GO WITH AN EXCELSIOR.
