    James have you thought about fishing line across from each roof? That will stop any birds landing.

    And I can say in my three years having koi I never have the much problems with parasites 🦠 and the temperature not helping at all 🥲

    Nice one both setups look overkill lol can't go wrong with a Burton's drum, we've not had a problem with our Draco Drum either. Fish are definitely looking bigger in the grow-on pond but perhaps not doubled in size 😂👍

    Your not alone when you say about a bad season mate, had it here in essex too. Low temps 3 rounds of parasite, water issues, had all of it mate, a real difficult season. Lets hope we get to enjoy it from now on, best wishes guys

    Hi James,
    I have the same autofeeder, and ran against the same issu with it. I have came up with an easy diy fix for it. The feeder is supplied with an black reduction ring. You can fit an 1,2mm long section of 32mm pvc pipe in that black ring. Make an opening of 2 cm wide and wrap some masking tape around the pvc pipe so you can make a tight fit in the black reduction ring. And use that in the autofeeder
    Works perfect! I use 5mm pellets and get 3/4 grams of one second of feeding turn. If you need some more info how i made it let me know.
    Regards👊👊

    I love your videos that have lots of information, I would love to have a drum filter but there is no way I could ever afford one.
    Loving the acers but one word of warning, the one sitting on the pond could be susceptible to wind burn and if it's badly hit by wind it can kill them, hope you don't mind me saying about that x

    Power consumption... On low power setting... 500-600w. On high power setting 1100-1500w

    Question. So everyone talks about not putting things in your pond due to the fish hitting whatever it is and causing damage to the fish. So why not wrap your items in fine filter material or a soft foam ? Also can you send me a Pic of that gazebo at the plant store?

    Funny thing perspective, you’ll happily pay £300 for a one year old koi but think £300 for a six or eight year old Acer is steep 😂
    Totally agree on the temperature fluctuations this year, literally up and down like a fiddlers elbow, I’ve also had a massive algae bloom like never before this year, it’s under control now but I’ve spent more time sorting out blanket weed than anything else!
    FYI Seagulls are actually protected, god knows why as urban gulls are a pain is the ass.

    • @oliverskinner8962
      @oliverskinner8962 Месяц назад

      Literally nobody would report you for killing a seagull my nextdoor neighbours smoke weed and nobody reports them for that plus everyone hates seagulls so it's basically doing the world a favour. Definitely agree with your Acer point £300 for a 6ft 6yo Acer is worth it !

  • @paulcole4902

    Those artificial birds do work for a bit until seagulls realise that they are not real, just the same as the myth of putting a artificial heron by your pond because apparently herons will not feed in the same place together, all a load of rubbish because I've witnessed 5 herons in a line on the river tame in Tamworth catching and eating fish 👍
