Ren alluded to it in one of his songs, stating that he lost his best friend before he was 25. The pain of this loss is evident in a few of his songs, "Freckled Angels" being one example. It is dedicated to Joe Hughes. Someone else commented that the video was shot at the bridge that Ren's friend jumped from, however, others have stated that this is misinformation. Their live performance of "Chalk Outlines" is still my favorite song, partly because I can relate to it due to my own daily struggles. Although, losing your best friend to suicide is also something I experienced when I was 19 y/o (almost 38 years ago). “How to Be Me” definitely runs a close second, though. I would recommend you check out their busking sessions in Brighton, performing “Sexual Healing” (Marvin Gaye cover) and “One Dance / Drunk In Love” (Drake/Beyoncé cover); those performances are of a much lighter mood and very enjoyable. Unfortunately my health has taken a nosedive over the last year, starting with having the bottom lobe of my right lung removed due to cancer. Then I somehow developed two different types of blood cancers(Thrombocythemia and more seriously, Polycythemia Vera), for which I have daily chemo. Then, to top it off, in February, I contracted severe heart failure which has devastated my life; raising my arms to put on a sweater can leave me gasping for breath and my wife has to wash /shower me etc. I also have to use a small electric wheelchair to get around the house, so as you can see, things aren't doing too well but us Scots are a breed of fighters so I have no intention of giving up any time soon. Sorry for unloading all that on you my friend but I lead a pretty lonely life and only see my saint of a wife on a daily basis as both my sons have their own families to deal with and also don't live particularly close, so I only see them infrequently, although they phone two or three times a week. Best stop here or it will turn into a book, lol. Stay safe buddy.😊😊

Backstory on this song..................... This song was for his friend that committed suicide, who was lost from jumping off a bridge into un-swimmable waters. The friend put out a text (group I believe, to closest friends) that he was at the bridge and couldn't handle life anymore, Ren was the closest and rushed there in the middle of the night but was too late, his body was never found. Some people are saying this performance was on that bridge, others have stated it's a random bridge in the area over the same waters. Ren recounted the story on the Knox interview, but did not confirm the location of this video shoot. Ren's first album was dedicated to him, Freckled Angels, which was his nickname/term of affection, another in their circle of friends opened a restaurant that is doing quite well also named Freckled Angels. ✌💚

ya the sound audio is not really good. It sounds like it just picks up the Treble, there is like no mid range or bass to the music. Not sure how she is picking up the sound from the songs. May have to research some more and see how people do it. Plus you can always do test videos to see how the audio sounds.. Just upload a clip of whatever, and make it private and watch it yourself. I am not up to her current songs yet with Ren.. Still at the 1 month ago ones.

ya the sound audio is not really good. It sounds like it just picks up the Treble, there is like no mid range or bass to the music. Not sure how she is picking up the sound from the songs. May have to research some more and see how people do it. Plus you can always do test videos to see how the audio sounds.. Just upload a clip of whatever, and make it private and watch it yourself. I am not up to her current songs yet with Ren.. Still at the 1 month ago ones.
