    I had the same issue with my Atwood furnace. I had a hole in my burner. Replaced both the burner and electrode following your video. Now the heat is on! Thanks for a GREAT video!

    Thanks for taking the time to document your repair. Very detailed and is exactly what I need to replace the gas valve. The furnace won't light until I bang on the gas valve, so its getting replaced.

    Thanks so much for the very informative video. My gas valve was full of bugs and debris. Muddobbers plugged up the burner and the exhaust after cleaning everything out and putting it back together it worked perfectly. Thanks to your video

    As an electrician I have got all the electric measurement. Got 12 v between hvite and yellow- (sail switch and limit switch), 12v between blue and yellow -(termostat), and 12v between red and yellow for the 12v output ( electrode and ignite). With the old control board, the burner did turrn on and off with a few second delay. Did replace the old board with a new Atwood. Now the burner is working even. But the temp for the furnance is very low and take a longer time geting the inside temp. So I think I've got the same issue as you have had with the furnance and temp. Will check if there is an error code today. Im from Norway, so the english is not at the top.

      Hi there. You english is amazing. Yes, I would pull the burner out and see if the screen has holes in it. And check the port on the gas supply. It could have small bugs or cob webs. Are you still living in Norway? Or living in the state?
      Thanks so much for the comment and for watching the video.

    Just did this. The burner was so corroded it fell apart when I pulled it out. Threw in a new burner head and ignighter since I was in there and installed a dinosaur board since I was over engineering.

    Tip… when putting your furnace back together try to stay away from electric power tools simply because you’re drilling the screws into sheet metal and it’s very easy to strip the screws out. Also, the plastic shroud that covers the fan is plastic and you’ll want to snug those only with a standard screwdriver otherwise you’ll bust the thing all the hell. (Not to mention that fan shroud is very tough to find as it is obsolete.)

    • @retirementwithpete9859

      Hi Jeffery, good advise. There is alot of torque in a 20v screwgun. Doesnt take much!

      @@retirementwithpete9859 I find that that’s one big problem with hiring a professional to come out and fix stuff is they usually end up with stripped screws everywhere? So I’m learning to do things myself.

    When servicing the furnace on your Tardis be sure to set your dimensional stabilizer to fixed mode otherwise the service panel and components inside it you need to work on may not be positioned where and or how they were before you looked way.

    After watching your video I am wondering if this could be the same issue with my furnace, it works but is only blowing warm air instead of hot air. I live in my rv full time and really don't like having to use space heaters, at least our winter has been fairly mild but I still need to get it repaired. I believe you have given me a good direction to go with the repair, I appreciate it.

    Those little "grommets" can be a bear to get back on, I tried the proper tool for them and it turns out an old fashion needle nose pliers works the best. Just force the grommet closed and push it back in. Sometimes the gas flange nut will stay in the way of getting out the burner, you can go inside the RV underneath the cabinets or drawers and pull it back out of the way. Getting the screws back into the burner unit can be a little frustrating the holding screwdriver either won't come back off the screw or can't hold the screw steady enough to start it. A little sticky putty on a socket with a long extension will get the 5/16 inch hex screws started by hand. All in all not a bad job and it's good exercise for your fingers...

    I am hoping I have a similar problem. My fan is kicking on, my electrode is clicking and I am getting flame. I get flame for a few seconds, then it shuts the gas off. A few seconds later, it fires again, then shuts down. It does this until you shut off the furnace.
    Does the electrode act like a thermocouple?

    • @retirementwithpete9859
      @retirementwithpete9859  Год назад

      Sounds a little different than mine. I had no flame. The blower fan would come on, and it would try to ignite 3 times, then shut completely off. But its worth looking at the burner. If the screen has any holes in it, its worth replacing. Good luck on the repair, and let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I tried viewing the video, with the phone backwards. Not a good idea😄. It reverses the image!! The good news is the furnace is still working after 18 months. And im switching to a go pro hero 10.
