Thank you for your videos on furnace repairs. They helped me find a blown fuse at the thermostat and saved me a lot of money by not calling my local RV repair guy.
Great video! Turns out our issue was neither of the two things. There is an off and reset button in the furnace panel outside. Flipped that a couple times and it worked!
Thank you. My wife and I are still newbies. Been fixing up an older pop up and have been enjoying every second. Our last trip blower kicked on and it went to ignite but no go... luckily we had a back up electric heater but I will definitely be testing that sail switch .
I'd love to get your input Emily! A 2004 Corsair 5th wheel furnace issue. Furnace turns on, kicks in, ignites. Just as the air starts to warm at about 60 seconds the fire shuts off. The sail switch, thermostat and regulator are working volatge from the battery is good. The circuit board replaced today, still the same result. Any thoughts? I'd really love to figure it out and fix it so I can see the look on my husband's face! He's always thrilled when I figure something out that stumped him and his buddies. Then he brags to his friends about it. It's the sweetest thing! Lol 💕
This happens to us too. Turns out it’s an issue with the vent blowing hot air on the thermostat. We fixed that by installing a deflector around the vent to direct air in a different direction instead of at the thermostat.
My furnace is intermittent. It works about 30% of the time. Had it to the dealer last year and they said they found “rust” and had fixed it. Well, first time I had to use it last week, it was back to 30% operation. I took it apart and everything checked out using a meter: sail switch, high temp switch, gas valve solenoids, igniter, etc. Put the furnace back together and it worked fine on the floor inside the camper through half a dozed cycles. Put it back in the camper and it worked a couple times and then stopped working. It seems to have completely quit now as about 10 attempts all failed. So, I ordered a sail switch and hopefully that is the source of the problem.
@ It appears to have been the sail switch. I replaced it and the furnace worked fine for a 5 day camping trip with nights in the 30s so it ran several times each night. The old sail switch still tests fine with a meter. I can only guess that the sail itself was binding a little or something such that the blower didn’t have enough force to move it. The microswitch itself works fine and the sail seems to move freely, but once it the furnace it wasn’t working.
Consider doing a video on how to troubleshoot a problem where when your rv water pump runs, the lights in your rv dim. Mine is doing it and I'm guessing it is a bad ground. I see this in a lot of rv forums.
No power to the sail switch, got new batteries @13.3 volts and have 12 volts to fuses, ordered a new furnace fuse. Just got the camper back from dealer a month ago and a interesting note is that they had to take the rear a/c off to get it in the shop and the furnace worked before it went to the shop. Anything happening up in the a/c that would cause an issue with my problem? Thanks
So if it's not doing nothing at all like at all it could be the switch in my case I left it on overnight and woke up to a chili room mind you I left it on overnight before and woken up to a really warm room this is also a 2004 hasn't been serviced I don't believe even by the previous owner and do some of these instructions apply to regular Suburban furnaces I imagine yes I have a 2004 bobcat keystone
My furnace only works intermittently some times the furnace will light and other times it won’t I’m so confused because I’ve checked the sail switch and it seems to be working because my furnace will light sometimes but other times it can run for hours and not even hear a click like it’s trying to ignite
It's bitter sweet, but I'm happy to see that this channel isn't popular enough to have porn bots all in the comment section lol. That's how you know you're in the big leagues as a RUclipsr lol
Is there a way I could DM you? I need help with my rv.. I have a Atwood’s.. blower not working when I turn on heat.. I took out the board cleaned it up and had to res solder the power connectors because they looked corroded I’m reading voltage on the board but the blower motor won’t come on.. I’d like to send you pictures maybe videos..
Hello . Thank you for your videos that are very helpful. So my Atwood hydro flame AFMD25 series furnace works perfectly at low altitudes but the flame does NOT stay on consistently at high altitudes, above 8-9000ft. Flame turns off and on, on only 5-30 seconds. Any suggestions? Domestic customer service said this is common and suggested nothing specific as the cause except of course less oxygen at high altitude. All other propane appliances work well at the high altitude. My regulator makes a repetitive humming / swishing sound however, especially when using multiple propane appliances. 😢
I don't have a multi meter or know how to use one. (I will get the manual you suggested) Suburban SF-30FQ 30,000btu. Fan comes on, seconds later clicks to ignite. Tries 3times and shuts down. I verified spark at the ignitor, clean orafice and full bottle of propane. WTH? Does it have to be a bad gas valve at this point? Plz help! Getting nippy here in Michigan. 🥶
I'm pretty good with electrical. I'm pretty good with common sense. My problem. Yes, I know most likely. It's my sale switch even though I do hear my Solo annoyeds But I have no access to test it Good old n T20 And I tried to pull it out today could get it halfway out wouldn't come the rest of the way. With the space I have to work. I'm probably just gonna spend the money and call somebody. Because I have to disconnect wires to be able to pull the rest of the way out. And I can't get my phone in the space to take pictures of the connections before I disconnect them. I actually don't even have the space to disconnect them.

I'm testing out Saturday at NRVTA. One of your videos was a great help in helping me understand a subject in class. Thank you thank you thank you
Loved it ❤❤
Wow Emily! What a timely(for me) video! I have my furnace out in the garage troubleshooting. Thanks for more information!
I'd love to get your input Emily!

I'm not Emily and I'm not a service tech. (I don't even play one on tv)
However... Did you test the high/limit switch?

Same for suburban furnace??

What did it end up being? Mine is doing something similar

Always a good idea to check for rust and or corrosion on connections and cleaning if necessary @@LTVoyager
Good information! But it's been 2 months, where did you go 😊
Are you available for work still ?

Wish mine had an outside opening, gotta pull mine thru pantry

What about if your furnace starts and heats but only one time and then will not come back on that’s the problem I’m having
My furnace only works intermittently some times the furnace will light and other times it won’t I’m so confused because I’ve checked the sail switch and it seems to be working because my furnace will light sometimes but other times it can run for hours and not even hear a click like it’s trying to ignite

Is there a way to bypass said switch?
No. The sail switch has to cycle both open and closed in order for your furnace to work. It's a safety feature of the sail switch.

Sail switch is likely the culprit. 7:00-7:20 in video
