I have been having flame failure problems the last few years. Flame rod replace/clean didn't work. I ended up taking the burners out and cleaning them. Back to normal! 23 years old and still going!

You are the man!! My A/C quit, and you told how to check a capacitor. That was it and I got one from Amazon for $15!! You saved me 500 bucks!! Thanks!! Now I know what to look for if my furnace quits. I almost hope it does so I can see if I can figure it out!!!

Thank you for the video. By the way on that capacitor measurement 5% of 20 microfarad (unit ) is not 1 % but 1 microfarad. just trying to make sure other people know what u ment. Thanks for the help regardless.

Love the videos great content!! Have you ever considered doing a video on balancing your HVAC system for summer cooling and winter heating throughout the rooms in a home via dampeners and floor registers? I’m unable to find an informative or intuitive video describing the process. That way your subscribers and future subscribers could balanced temperatures and optimize functionality of our HVAC system. Also your recommendation on tools. If you need a home to do such a video, let me know!?!?

My gas furnace quit working a few yrs ago. It was new in 2008. I called a company from the yellow pages. They came out and replaced the thermostat. It worked for a day then quit working again. I called them again and they came out and replaced the circuit board. It’s been working since.

    Great video. Thanks for info!!!
    I am a little stumped.
My system keeps shorting and blowing a fuse after inducer motor coems on and before the igniter can even glow.
Changed the ignitor just in case and also the pressure switch. Still trips at that exact point every time.
What else is happening at this point in the sequence of events that could be tripping?
    Thanks in advance!

Senior citizen going 3rd year without working furnace. Will get someone to help me with these checks. Thank you! My cats and I are in a small bedroom with a heater. I bought them fleece vests and a snow suit for me. We count off the days to warmer weather. I have significant health issues so does one of my cats. So we must have money for health needs. It is very difficult to live like this. I am not the only senior living like this. My son passed in 2002 and I live far from any family still left. I have been afraid that someone will find out that I have no working furnace. I still am paying on mortgage. Long story…..how this has all happened to me.
My washer, refrigerator and oven need replaced too. I don’t want strangers making me abandon my home. I thank God for finding this video. I have a full tank of heating oil. My furnace went out and never could use it. So if can get furnace working……good to go!

Love your videos! I also have a question - When my gas furnace first gets the call to run, I hear the inducer spin up and then within a few seconds, I hear a loud metallic sounding "smack". Sometimes it is just one, other times two in close succession. After that everything seems to continue into the ignition (hot surface igniter) and flame. Blower seems fine. What do you think that could be? Thanks

Yes, the fuse is easy to check (with small fingers or a needle nose pliar). Yes, it is easy to replace.
But, if it blows again, during testing, then there is something more serious to check. rats chewed on the wires? failed motor by short circuit due to old age, or wet, or too hot? You might need to get an HVAC guy.

Hello, the furnaces should not drip water, today there are 90 plus furnace systems that have a system that drains water. If this is yours, then you must connect it through where the condensation from the AC drains.

Had my furnace and thermostat inoperative. Turned out to be a failed condensate pump. When it fails it breaks the 24 volts going to the thermostat. Robisson Repair guy hosed me for $450. Exact same part in Amazon cost $45. Go figure!
