    Side note about Jimmy Fallon: there were some pretty damning allegations that came out against his former SNL costar Horatio Sans last year related to grooming and sexually assaulting a minor in the past, and based on the victim's statements, it was obvious that Jimmy and the other cast members knew about this "relationship" as it was happening back in the early 2000s. Obviously this is not related to the current controversy around Jimmy's show and the work environment, but I'm definitely not going to trust a guy who watched his friend/coworker "date" a high schooler and didn't say anything about it.

    • @JDMimeTHEFIRST
      @JDMimeTHEFIRST Год назад +23

      It wasn’t about grooming. It was about Horacio raping an underage girl. They were not in a relationship. He assaulted her. I heard about it and was shocked and grossed out. It then quickly disappeared as if someone paid to keep it hushed as possible.

      JK’s time on the man show has always annoyed me and makes me take a lot of his schitck with a grain of salt.
      However, now that I am an adult and re-watched a few early eps of the man show, I realized that I was too young during the original airing to realize that the Man Show was basically doing what the Colbert Report would do years later to conservatives. Gross toxic assholes who thought they were being “seen” by the Man Show didn’t get that the show was designed to mock them, just how conservatives wholly bought that Stephen Colbert was the conservative response to Jon Stewart.
      However the joke was too ahead of its time, and sadly TMS did become the gross misogynistic show many believed it to be, but by that point JK had bounced, only for Joe Rogan to take his place.
      I just wish JK actually acknowledged his time on TMS to set the record straight because the more the pretends it didnt happen, the more it comes off imo that his current liberal/male feminist behavior is performative.
      And look, I am all for people acknowledging crappy things they did in the past, I am all for ppl growing, but it’s just annoying to be that JK tries for sincerity while ignoring an elephant in the room

    As a nurse it will never fail to amaze me that there are some who are truly unaware that mental health controls what you do. No matter who you are.
    Some have disorders in which it interrupts their ability to function. But if you think you are truly in control of your thoughts and actions, you are clearly completely unaware that that need for control....comes from your mental health makeup.
    At the end of the day it all boils down to chemical reactions, that lack of control is terrifying and many fight against MH awareness because it would make them face the fact that you aren't in control of much in life truly. Psychosis and dementia doesn't care who you are and can come on at any time. No amount of willpower will stop that.
    Get over it and learn empathy.

    • @MinaF99
      @MinaF99 Год назад +10

      Yes!!! People don’t seem to understand that things like psychosis can make you do and say things you would never ever say otherwise. It’s not “revealing who they actually are, and their real beliefs”. If you have that little empathy you better count yourself lucky you’re not the one experiencing those mental states, and that if you ever do, because you can’t choose wether or not it happens to you, that there people who are going to be more empathetic toward you than you’ve been to others.

    It's so frightening when people support the point that 'it's your workplace, they are not there to make you feel good', yeah Karen, but I do better work when I am not constantly frightened to be screamed at for breathing wrong, therefore I am of better value to the workplace. I am not a punchingbag for my boss since I am the one working so he can make as much money as he does. Basic humanity and a supportive workplace makes people work better and actually results in them being ok with overtime when it's needed or helping out if needed because they actually like the place they work at and the coworkers and bosses.
    Stress and a horrible environment results in people getting sick more often and are not able to come in. (Even tough in the US that is a whole f-ed up problem in and of itself with limited sick days and whatnot.)
    If my boss breaks my leg because he is in a bad mood noone would be ok with that, but if he triggers panic attacks and stress related illnesses, because he can explode at any time, that's me being a snowflake that just needs to toughen up? Yeah makes sense...

Conservatives wearing shirts and baseball caps (or snapbacks) loudly proclaiming that they love God, Guns, and Freedom as much as they hate everyone who's not like them as well as "Cancel Culture" (Accountability Culture, but they don't like that term because they can't victimize themselves) and "Safe Spaces" - and I just have to laugh and roll my eyes because it's the equivalent of knowing an average white dude with an oversized lifted truck with chrome spoilers Frankensteined to the vehicle with an American Flag and a "Tr*mp 2020/2024 MAGA" flag waving out the back as he drives down the street is overcompensating for his fragile masculinity and tiny penis. Only with those lunatics in the shirts and hats, they're more likely overcompensating for their own insecurities. It's pretty sad and pathetic because these people who don't believe in mental health or therapy are the ones who need it most. Of course they're not going to willingly seek treatment out of stubborness and/or ignorance.

    Conan was my gateway into late night talk shows. My mom would let me stay up to watch him in the early 00s when I was 8/9. I will always be heartbroken over how NBC did him. I liked Jimmy when he was on SNL, but I could never get into him as a late night host. His broad pandering really kills it for me. When you’re trying too hard to get masses of people to like you, you lose yourself in the process and things come across less genuine. You don’t have to have opinions that everyone agrees with, but you can still have a backbone and the core of who you are/what you message is, can be clear. I love Seth, Stephen and I do really enjoy Bill Maher’s show, even tho there are things I don’t agree with that he says 😒. Watching late night, and Bill’s show was a staple in my house. I didn’t think it was a secret that he was drunk quite a bit. But didn’t know if any toxicity, although being drunk doesn’t help. Alcoholics are pretty good at seeming to hold it together.
    I hope Kimmel is okay😅. Hey, maybe we can hire women now ? 😅

      Honestly, the Roots are often more funny than he is.
      I’ve always been a Conan person. He never fails to make me laugh and I grew up watching him. I also grew up watching Colbert on Strangers with Candy, but I think Amy Sedaris should have received that seat although she probably wouldn’t want to. But Colbert is openly Catholic which I don’t understand since Catholicism is anti-women and anti-gay. It makes no sense that he would support it (a cult that covers up child molestation). I’m surprised Colbert isn’t canceled for that alone.

    The attitude of "You should be happy to work here, there are a million people waiting to take your place" is ingrained in anyone who works in the entertainment industry from day one. It helps to create insecurity in the staff and talent, gives the people at the top way too much power over their employees, and makes the industry toxic.
    Megyn Kelly is an absolute a$$. I wonder how SHE treats her staff.

    I’m glad Fallon apologized, the WGA got a better contract and everyone has gotten back to work
    Also Strike Force 5 has improved after a few episodes but is about to end; the highlight being Fallon playing the scapegoat/little brother/butt of the joke, which is fine~
    And at the end of the day, at least all the ads in the podcast go towards the shows’ staff and crew; if anything, the real joke is the podcast accommodating a lot of late night hosts and Fallon being the scapegoat
